Joshua does have good skills. But I feel Fury is too elusive for him & will eventually TKO him. I don’t think Joshua has recovered from the 3 beat down he suffered during sparring preparations for the the first fight against Ruiz. I think his will has been broken. He was able to boxed the crap out of Ruiz because Ruiz came into the rematch even heavier than when he beat him... I mean who does that ??? What trainer in his right mind will not monitor his fighters weight? Insane!!!!

Guys, I can only comment from what I saw. The trainers there were some hard core oldskool. And as I look back, as a trainer that I am now, I couldn’t even tie their shoes! They were all masters of their trade. There was Donald Hayes, Harold Weston Sr, Carlos Espada, Georgi Colon, Ralphy Correa, Willie Dunn, Johnny Pearson, Bernard Forbe (who was like my uncle in boxing), Robles & Guava, Tony trickman Norris, Sid Martin, Sinbad, etc... there were much more. I remember In very rare occasions when the gym was closing they would have there get togethers like any other working people do after work. And all you would here was hey don’t **** around Jimmy won’t tolerate this & that. They were a rough & tough crew but they liked & respected Jimmy Glenn. And as an unwritten rule they knew not to even dare to go Jimmy’s corner if they were intoxicated. Jimmy didn’t had to say much, rarely ever raised his voice. He was a true leader. Actually I was unfair to Yori Boy Campas. He was a good fighter and he made Ayala quit years before the 2nd rape. Later Ayala was KOed by Bonsante. Even before the first rape he was good but not exceptional and cold not stay out of trouble. Actually he was exceptional. He was part of a program in the 80's called "Tomorrows champions". It consisted of; Bobby Cyz Johnny Bumbus Alex Ramos Tony Ayala All these guys had a good chance of winning an olympic gold medal. But the was conflict with USSR/Russia at the time that President Ronald Reagan boycotted the Olympics that year 1980.

I was impressed on his resiliency. That shows true character in a champion...same could be said about Joshua against Wladamir.

You recently said Hopkins is better than Roy Jones and some would argue his greatest feat was being undisputed, 10 years and 20 defenses. Joe Louis had 7 title fight victories over hall of fame opponents and defeated about 3-4 to earn the title shot. To reign as the only champion in the one belt era for over a decade and 25 defenses is impressive. Dominance over a single division is impressive especially when it's backed up with longevity because as Tom Cruise said (the poster not the actor) when you are so dominant over so long then you've probably stopped a few guys from making a name for themselves. Far more impressive than the division hopping grab a title here, a title here smash and grab route that many fighters nowadays go for. I'll give you some others that had long reigns and beat good opposition going with a rule of 5 years minimum and 10 defenses minimum reign :- Carlos Monzon Marvelous Marvin Hagler Wilfredo Gomez (at 122) Felix Trinidad (at 147) Eusebio Pedroza Archie Moore Roberto Duran Great list! Lets not forget the greats Salvador Sanchez, Alexis Arguello, Lupe Pintor & Jolting Jeff Chandler. (funny Sanchez vs Arguello, Pintor vs Chandler were 2 super fights that never materialized)

Yeah, they all had great reigns but I was pointing to reigns of 5 years and 10 defenses minimum. What Sanchez crammed into two and a half years was incredible. Same with Henry Armstrong at 147. Eder Jofre and Carlos Zarate at 118 too etc; Oh...yes I see...Armstrong & Zarate of course great!

Basketball players are one thing ...boxing is another. it's not just about power, speed, & size. You have to have a good defense as well. Mental toughness & most importantly how you handle a punch. you could have all the talent & athleticism in the world if you don't have that mental toughness & can't take a punch... you can't box...end of story Boxers are like pitbulls, they are pain tolerant (especially to the head & face)
