Naz never fought anyone as good as Pacquiao or Marquez. He did beat some very good fighters but all but a couple of them were past their best. We all knew who the big test was....Barrera! and he failed.
For people to say that Nas was not motivated for the Barrera fight is the biggest crock of **** i've ever herd in my life! The only explanation i could think of for that is they surely were not into boxing at the time. Naz-Barrera was the fight we had been talking about for about 6 years before it happend! It was always the big one.Ofcourse he was motivated. The problem Naz had is when he stepped up his caliber of opponents he struggled. Back when he was fighting tom dick or harry in the UK he would look great, when he had to fight top fighters he just was not the same. The very good fighters he did beat were old compared to him.
It's easy to think that Naz was a lot better than he actually was.
Did you watch the video?
Yeah i watched it, i've seen it all before. You cant judge his training for a fight with 10 minutes or even 60 minutes of video footage.
When he got beat by Barrera it destroyed him. He thought he was the best boxer to ever lace them up.His whole image inside and outside his head was blown.
It's complete nonsense to say that he could not be bothered training, or he was rich enough, or his hands were all over. The fact is he fought a great fighter and came up short. He was not as good as he thought he was. When he stepped up and fought better fighters he struggled, then he fought an elite fighter and got beat.
I don't hate Khan. I actually respect and have a lot of admiration for what he has done in boxing. I remember when Joe calzaghe was in his mid twenties and most people thinking when's he gonna go to America to box? He never did till the end and now a lot of people think his career is tarnished. Atleast Khan is fighting some of the best fighter's in the world or atleast his weight division. He has and will beat some, and he'll get a beating at other times but atleast he has the balls to try.
Race has nothing to do with nothing.
Hat tons win against kosta is like khans win against Barrera I.e they were both way past it
Nonsense. Accidental head butt in first round which resulted in a fight stoppage, which should have been in first round resulting in a No contest. Hatton kosta was a war. Two completely different situations.
I'll never forget the racism at the Barrera fight, standing there with my British flag I was shocked to say the least. How can you be racist to one of your own? Lol.
I was there as well, and i was surounded by Indian or Pakastani looking guy's and they were all rooting for Barerra!lol. As was i.
I read somewhere that white guys cut up more as they have sharper bones. It said Black folks have more rounded bones. Lol don't know if that's true though.
I like Broner. I also think he acts way nicer than Floyd used to. IMO he's likeable.
His comedy is brilliant....
What's your best shot? Response...Any photo!!
'That's a tough steak but i ate it'
'I had to see how much gas that Toyota was runnin on'
Funny stuff.
Naz seems to be a little overated imo. He was exciting, but we all knew who the big test was 6 or 7 years before he fought him, and he got a whipping. It's his own fault he never came back cuz he could have added to his legacy. Barrera for me completely destroyed his confidence.
Naz imo should never be mentioned in the same breath as Barerra/Morales/Marquez. People were saying Barerra should quit after the Junior jones loss! Look what he achieved after that, that's how a truly great fighter comes back.
stefjonno1, did you happen to see the match between poison junior jones, and kennedy mckinney?...kennedy mckinney, cracked me up in the postfight interview, when he described how he was able to take poison junior jones best punch, and ended the fight with his own straight right hand...stefjonno1, i used to watch a lot of the fights around the featherweight division in the mid-late 90's-early 2000's, because the little guys, used to get it in, my man...(word)
Yeah i've seen that fight and interview, i have it on vhs. Aint watched it in years, il have to dig it out.
Best fight for Kell is Khan at the moment, he'd spark Khan and by doing that would get him the big fight's in America. Which i haven't really herd him mention fighting in America which imo means he wants to fight mediocre fighter's in the UK.
I think calzaghe gets way too much credit for the hopkins win. He was literally pitty patting. Its an arguable victory. I had hopkins winning. Had he rematched hopkins and beat him clearly it would be a different story.
I agree. Even Enzo said before the last round you are way behind you have to KO him to win! Joe would never rematch BH cuz he knew he could do nothing with him.
I was waiting on a thread like this to start, as soon as last night's fight finished.
I like Canelo but he had his chance. If Floyd was in his late twenties yeah a rematch could easily happen, but he ain't and that's that.
Clearly Angulo was fine to continue, but the beating he took up to that point, and he had no chance of winning the fight, i think it was a good call. Obviously if the fight had been close it would have been a disgraceful stoppage, but that was not the case.
I know what Ricky is saying, but if Khan ain't ready for Collazo why on earth would he be ready for Mayweather which seem's to be what Khan is proclaiming.
If Khan keep's blabbing on about fighting the best fighter on the planet he has to step up and fight the best welterweights on the planet, and let's be honest Collazo is a little below that level, although a good fighter and one i believe will spark Khan.
Joe calzaghe.
When he was young i was pretty excited about his career, then in his mid to late twenties i and most other people in the UK were wanting him to go to America, and he stayed here and fought a lot of mediocre fighters.
