I personally think Jirov will win. Jirov is a very high-punching boxer, something Roy is not familar with. Jirov also has a very granite-like chin. Also Roy is not use to pressure, which Jirov is known for, his very aggressive style. I predict Roy will get knocked out in 7, from a devasting body punch.
Jones is good but hes not great, Jones was simply a very smart-business like boxer. He will never be considered great to me only good. Jirov will destroy him and he knows it. I honestly think he would of never fought tarver if he didnt get so much pressure. He avoided so many boxers it horrible. Dont get me wrong Roy is a skilled boxer yet never boxed to his potential and took risk like a true champ and warrior does.
To answer your question mook, stating who has more accomplishements than Roy. I personally think hands down Oscar de la hoya is one of them hands down. If you look at his boxing recored and compared to Roy you will see he fought more well-known boxer such as Shane Mosley, Chaves, Vargas, Trindad, Quartey just to name a few. This is just my opinion!
Tito is good yet, another boxer that never fights to his true potential. The only named boxer he fought was oscar.I would like to see trindad come back from retirement and fight quailty opponents how he is capable of doing.
Prince is a very good fighter, yet he may be over-rated. He didnt really challenged himself how he should. His awkward leaping style makes him look very bad once he gets hit. I would still like to see him comeback, and truly see if hes great how he thinks he is, like a true champion.
I personally think Jirov should stay go back to cruiser-weight. His boxing style is to dangerous for heavy-weight, he can get seriously hurt. I know Jirov defense is horrible and can imagine getting punched by a top heavyweight, thats scary.
I think mosley will knock Vargas in the 6 round. Vargas has talent, but was the kind of boxer that rushed his career to fast into big fights. He still is young and yet feels so old physically. I remember when de la hoya gave him a beating, and made him look like a nobody. Shane actually beat de la hoya, and fought another good fight with him.
I understand the weight difference, lol. Sorry for the general question. If they could work on the weight differnce like jirov losing and hopkins gaining, who win. Not fighting at this moment with their current weight, but more as boxers, sorry guys for the general question again.
Come on please! Tarver in heavy weight. Lets put our heads on first. Tarver beat a chicken picked boxer, and now wants to fight in hw. I think he should stay there if any move in weight he should go down. I personally dont think tarver has a hw chin to compete with those guys. Unless he fought nobody in that divison, then just maybe. I would like to see tarver fight jirov, that will be fun for tarver. Then maybe he would change his mind about fight with the big boys
Vargas doesnt have a good chin like mosley does. If you REALLY see the fights between mosley vs de la hoya, and oscar vs vargas, you will see. Vargas almost got knocked out in the first round against hoya. Luckily he got him self back together or it would of been an early ko. Who knows I personally think hoya let him survive for political reasons. Or maybe thats just me. Mosley vs Oscar was a battle. Lots of combo and everything.
Toney going to heavy weight is not a good idea for him. Just cause you eat lots of cheeseburger and gain weight dont make you a true heavy weight. Lets face it toney is not the same boxer after the jirov war. How can he fight well known boxers and become succesful, when he strugled against a old beat up wolf man ruiz.I really will like to see toney fight samuel peterson, and get knocked out back to burger king. That will be the only King for toney.
Honestly, I think only Oscar de la hoya should be considered the best p4p in a recent list. Thats it. In order to be even in a p4p list you need to fight several quality boxers. You cant be on that list just cause you fight 1 or no GOOD boxers.
I would just like to say roy jones jr is a very good fighter, but never truly fault to his skill level. I always thought true champion fight the best, and Roy showed me 1% of that.
I personally think roy has no legacy until his last couple of fights. He's a good fighter, yet never been challenged until now. He was simply a smart business man, thats it not a Legacy caliber fighter.
Jirov is still a good fighter after the loss from toney. A fighter inactive for 14 months, and still put a controversial fight. Jones will not be able to hand the granite-chin, who has excellent body punching. Jones is to weak for him.
I remebering see the fight with my step-dad and we were dissapointed in Jirov;s performance. Here is a guy that was considered to many very good, and could of made a huge comeback to fight a well known boxer to get the title and jut seems to have no energy. I think he has no motivation in boxing anymore. He didnt seem the same to me. I know everyones says its becasue of the toney fight, but I'm not sure what it is. To me, he can still be great but needs to put more effort in his fights. He still hits dam hard and I hope he can make a comeback in boxing.
