That Manny hasn't won a fight in two years thing we kept hearing last night and in this article Is misleading even though its technically true. He's only had 3 fights in the past 2 years including Rios and one of them was against Bradley that he really didn't lose.
No idea why people are so impessed with Lara. Trout has done just as much as Lara has and fought at a higher level. Even fight for me, I can't decide.

I agree. Lara is definitely a good fighter but the hype around him is way too much. He did the same thing Quintana did to Williams only he did a couple years later and post Martinez ko. The Angulo fight was very competetive as well. I'm not convinced he beats Trout. Thats a pick em fight imo

They won't fight him because he's dangerous, plain & simple. Golden boy are not ignoring him, he's their fighter. Technically this is the easiest fight for them to make. Lara won't ask for the lions share. They can get away with this in house fight rather easily. Come again please..........thanks.
If u dont bring in much money and are a risk then u usually dont get a fight with a guy like Canelo who has superstar money making potential. Its just that simple. If Lara had the same skill set and brought in real numbers the fight would have been signed already.
They would be big (huge) money fights, so they would almost certainly be taken. And I agree, Floyd and Cotto are #1 and #2 in the division (if Mayweather is considered 154). I would also say that Lara is top-five, and arguably number three.
My point is Lara is not being avoided because Canelo and his team think he is this unbeatable monster but because he is solid and doesnt bring the money to take that risk with bigger and better opportunies that look to be in the immediate future. Canelo isnt some fighter who cant sell tickets and needs fights like this to build his career so its not fair to compare him to someone like Williams who needed to fight guys like Lara to get paydays. Its not right but thats the way it is and things arent put into perspective and words like duck and scared get used when its not that simple.
I think a lot of u would be surprised how these avoided warriors would become diva's if their circumstances allowed it. A good example is Bradley clearly avoiding Khan which i really didnt have a problem with because i knew he had the Pac fight in mind which was a bigger chance. He weighed risk vs reward and made a business dec.

Your point is valid, and it's been made many times. For the record, I don't think Lara is "this unbeatable monster," either. But "Canelo" is the "champion" and three of his previous opponents have fallen through. You go through three guys and Erislandy still doesn't get a call? That's testing Alvarez's credibility, regardless of the rationale.
He isnt a real champion the WBC and GB gave him that title and are building him into a superstar. I cant say they are doing a bad job either considering he has fought no one and all my casual boxing fan friends and Mexican friends talk about him like he is the goat. I agree that Lara is probably the most legit opponent available for Sep 15th. I hope that fight is made but i doubt it.
But that's my point. I'm pretty consistent with my reasoning. But even still, Bradley ducking Khan is still far more acceptable than ginger ducking his division. Bradley beat every other fighter at 140 that he needed to. So to me, ducking Khan is a duck, just not as extreme as ginger ducking 154.
I disagree. Bradley was offered a career high payday and the biggest fight of his career against Khan so how is Canelo not fighting Lara a guy who brings neither of those things a worse duck?

If he fights him at 156 he wouldnt be a real 4 division champ. With these bs belts these days being a titleholder really doesnt mean that much.
I disagree that Canelo is ducking Lara because in order to duck u have to turn down a fight that financially and career wise makes no sense to turn down.
im not impressed yet. Hes fun to watch....beating up on out classed bums. But as soon as you put an experienced fighter in there...his act is over. We wont know if hes the real deal until he moves up to the B then A class fighters. These below C class fighters isnt showing nothing

If Cotto does take this fight and wins the fact that he gets a bs title at a cw does nothing for his legacy to anybody who really watches boxing. This is a bad move for Cotto imo if this is what the plan is.
