What a class act. I will forever be a fan of David Diaz because he was such a class act through and through. Although I've seen him in interviews before his inner "ghettoness" got out when he was interviewed by lampley haha.
At least, he was not afraid to fight the best!!! Unlike someone who recently retired for fear of fighting the best in his division!
I love how everyone is all on Manny's cock now that he beat a bum, but he lost to Mrquez and now wants no part of him. And it would be a joke what Floyd would do to him in a fight.
Huh?? Did Marquez, whom everyone considered a highly technically boxer, ever soundly defeat Pacman, the brawler who has slowly been transformed into a more complete fighter?
you still think of Floyd? the coward? afraid of losing his "0"?
Guzman beautifuly boxed his socks off. Displayed effective counter punching (off of the ropes as well), ring smarts, inside fighting, speed brawling and foot speed. He was the only fighter to dominate a prime Soto. (I'm not talking about the earlier losses when he was green).
Let us see if he can do that with Pacquiao! I even doubt he can beat JMM, the best counter-puncher I have seen, who could not even beat a brawler like Pacquiao!
you guys have the best fighter in the sport right now. enjoy the fuck out of it. Manny was amazing tonight. Yeah, he was the favorite, but no one expected him to fight the way he did tonight. No one expected him to dominate in this fashion. anyone who tries to discredit this win tonight is a fucking moron. just a plain simple minded hater.
I just hope that like Pacquiao, who remained as humble as ever, filipinos should imitate also the humility and class of Pacquiao amidst success!
I don't post here much but I bought ppv for manny and was very impressed by his raw skill and speed power. I thought it was going to be a close fight but boy was I wrong.
Is there any chance Pacman could fight Mayweather?
At lightweight I am sure Floyd wouldn't have a problem going back to and pac is already there. I hope Pacman calls Mayweather out!
A fight between Pacman and Mayweather will never happen!
Why? because of size and weight difference! Secondly, Mayweather is a coward!:poke:
Pac is the man right now. He coulda been moved up while PBF was there and I wouldn't have argued too much. If PBF comes back and decisively beats the Cotto-Tony winner, then the debate is on.
PBF won't come back anymore! He's just afraid to lose! He knows his competition is getting much tougher!
I agree. His win over Soto is very underrated. Humberto was ranked number 1 by the WBC and was the mandotory challenger for Guzman's WBO. He also has a win over Rocky Juarez and many other good fighters. Guzman beat him and made it look kind of easy. He definitely has the style to beat Pacquaio if he fights a very safe and tacticle battle.
Let us see if he can get past Nate!!:haha:
Cotto's chin is fine, saying its weak, is becoming a weak argument.
His chin is fine? Well, let's just see that when Margarito destroys him on July 26!
A bit premature dont you think? He hasn't made his lightweight debut, and you're predicting he win a world welterweight title? Have you seen the size of the WW's, Cotto, Margarito, Clottey? They would chew him up.
It'll be hard enough for him to win at 140, especially if he tackles someone as physically strong and imposing as Hatton. Manny is shredded and has bulked up, but he still has a narrow, fairly slender physique. You can tell from the weigh in pics on fightnews that Diaz is the genuine lightweight...
I think Manny will beat Diaz, but if he hangs around at lightweight theres a lot of sharks; guys like Juan, Nate, Katsidis, Casamayor...
I don't think Pacquiao can move up to welterweight even as a contender! He is rather small for a welterweight!
I have pointed out numerous times Joe expressed a desire to fight Pavlik BEFORE he fights Jones. I posted a video thread a while back, where you here the words straight from the horses mouth. Listen to Joe at 7:45 of this vid, where he is asked if he wants Jones, and says explicitly "I'm more interested in fighting Pavlik to be honest". This is before his shit performance against Hopkins of course, and the demolition of Gary Lockett. His tune has changed quite a bit, hasn't it? All the bullshit Enzo and Joe saying "Pavlik doesn't deserve the fight with Joe", gimme a fucking break. Two months ago they were all gung ho about a Pavlik fight, until they realized Joe can't even beat a 43 year old convincingly, and realized up close how good Pavlik really is...
And they say, he is the #2 pound4pound fighter in the world? Some even say he is the #1?? Yet he is obviously afraid to fight Pavlik who is way below him in terms of the pound4pound category?
so is Cotto's jab, it will be the key to Cotto's victory. Antonio has never met a jab yet quite like Miguel's and best believe the accumulation of those jabs will, dare I say it...frustrate and wear down Margarito..
OR the other way around, Tony will frustrate and wear down Cotto with his relentless style and granite chin!:boxing:
See the thing is John is a good fighter, people say the Marquez fight was robbery but it wasn't it was a just a very close fight. John didn't need Pacquiao's power to make a contest of it, he won alot more rounds than Pac-man did in the first and second fight (if you don't count the points that pac-man gained through the KD's)
Many people just assume that because John has beaten a big name ( I honestly thought he won) and didn't step up afterwards that he is terrible. I don't understand his reasoning behind it, I think it would be his promoters and not the man himself that want to make the most money out of him fighting in Indonesia. He has fought in Japan and Australia ton multiple occasions, he is a well rounded boxer and when matched up with the right guy can be exciting.
yeah, after all is said and done, he still finds himself fighting in indonesia! Unfortunately, until he gets to fight in the US soil, he will remain just an ordinary boxer (with a title) who will never be truly recognized as one of the best pound4pound fighters of the world!
Damn he looks to be n good shape..but so did....

:rofl:Photos can really be misleading!!! Margarito by KO!!!
roy has been in the game a long time. he is not gonna look past anyone.
Man, can't you see? Roy is obviously dreaming that he is still in his prime! Calzaghe is #2 p4p today, Sam Peter is the WBC heavyweight champion!
u said that im asking the question when exactly was he in his prime
well, you didn't put a question mark on that, I thought you were just sarcastic with that one!:thinkerg: Seriously, if Williams will put the same heart that he had in his last fight with konstantin airich, haye can be in serious trouble!
OMG these Sentana guys are so stupid!!! Do they want Pacman to fight at 147 or what?? Thats ridiciolous!!!
very ridiculous!! They just want to see Pacquiao knocked out!!
Pac man is not better than Floyd or Cal. Pac has not fought valero or guzman so I don't get your argument. Pac being rated pfp the best is a farce. He made his bones beating used up guys, and is now fighting another fight he will probably win. Valero and guzman are practically chasing the man to 135. Pac has no wins against any prime, formidable fighters. None! He can fight, but it is about time he stepped up his comp. His best fight is a draw with J.M.M.
JMM's best fight also is a draw and a loss against Pacquiao!
We all know that Margs is the biggest bum in boxing right now.. I don't know how he is even allowed to still box. Mexican never ducked anyone. How many Mexican Heavyweight champion of the world have there been? Fighting at skinny division and throwing a lot of weak punches doesn't make you anything special. Ain't no Mexican fighter ever had the same skill level as Ali, RJJ and Mayweather or the come close to defence as Mayweather and whitaker. I don't know why Mexicans don't claim De La Hoya he is the thing that has come form Mexico boxing.
You will eat your words when Margarito KOs Cotto!:haha:
what sort of JOKE boxer is he? call yourself an athlete? with all that flab?
what a disgrace to the sport of boxing
David Haye would ruin this guy in 4 rounds easy!
http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/12_03/hayeDM2012_468x691.jpg
Haye has not even been tested with the rest of the heavyweights and you just believe he could destroy arreola in 4 rounds?? And all this, because you hear all the hypes about this arrogant cruiserweight??:sombrero:
Poor dude, you have no idea what are saying.
Why do you people talk without having no clue as to what you are saying?
Cotto has been down once and it was ruled a knock down but he was pulled down from the head.
What about Judah dropping PBF? Huh? What do you have to say about that?
Name another time Cotto has been dropped. You can't. You don't know shit about boxing and here is a little tid bit of information for you. Pu$$y boy floyd has retired out of fear to Miguel Cotto and Antonio margarito. Floyd is a coward. You man now leave the forum because Floyd is done, son.
He may never have been dropped more than once, but he has mastered also the art of holding on to his dear life after those thunderous punches he received from Torres and Corley! Let us see if he still can do that "holding thing" with Margarito!
when was Williams in his prime i remember back in 1998 he got outboxed Julius Francais a journeyman
:haha: Williams was never in his prime? Haye can KO Williams in the first round, if that is so!
You could tell hes taking this fight serious as hell.
http://www.elnuevodia.com/diario/noticia/boxeo/deportes/bien_encaminada_la_preparacion_de_cotto/423505
Its in spanish sorry. It basically says that 1 month prior a fighter has to way no more than 169. Cotto is at 157. 2 weeks before the fight a fighter is suppose to be at no more then 156. Cotto is almost already there.
If anyone wants to take time and translate it word for word feel free.
I still believe Margarito will KO Cotto! Cotto has a suspect chin and tires easily in the later rounds! We all saw his fight with Torres(chin) and Judah(chin) and Mosley(mostly running away from Mosley in the last 2-3 rounds)!
Come on guys, pretty basic question here!!! Do you see the way Cotto disposes guys with just body shots? Margarita will find out soon!!:slap:
Cotto will also find that out when he hits the canvass!
ROFL! You talk hand picked Valero as if it's something handpicked similar to Floyd would do. Are you serious? Handpicking a 24-0 24 KO guy? I will PAY TO SEE THAT. You think Floyd would ever DARE face someone that dangerous? Hell no! That's not handpicking my son, that's facing upcomers as a real champion should do.
:scared:Floyd would just be too scared to fight a 24-0 (24KO) guy!!
That's why Manny will always be the most exciting fighter to watch!
Nice reminder, but Cotto's not going to stand in front of Margarito not throwing punches and bending at the waist.
Well, run Forest run!:haha: Until I catch you with my power punch!
