cotto's power vs magarito's power who hits harder?
If you look at there records cotto has had less fights then magarito but has the same amount of knockouts as magarito and has fought at a higher level :owned2: and magarito has already lost 5 times while cotto is stil undefeated.

cotto hits harder. margarito is all about volume punching.
this gonna be like dlh-vargas
in the end i think its gonna b cottos d and technique that gets him the win
and margs pride that may give cotto the ko
agreed gd post :boxing::scared:
Come on guys, pretty basic question here!!! Do you see the way Cotto disposes guys with just body shots? Margarita will find out soon!!:slap:
Cotto will also find that out when he hits the canvass!
6 first round kos by margarito compared to only 1 first round ko by cotto. margarito has only beaten 2 fighters by decision since he turned 20 and both of them ran like cowards to avoid his power. the facts say margarito is the stronger puncher and thats just plain and basic common sense.
you gotta at-least respect it, i see why you have a following.
I think Margarito has more one-punch stopping power. Cotto's damage tends to be more of a continued onslaught that gets to you eventually. I'll say this, they both can break some ribs with on solid body shot.
margo throws more punches so i think the opposite is true.but neither is necessarily a one punch ko artist.

You cant just look at numbers.
You have to factor in Cotto fighting at 140, Marg not having much of an amateur career, Marg fighting at 154, etc.
true, and I don't only look at that but however, the question is who has more power and this is a good effective way to determine it. Also having or not having an amateur career won't determine your power much but your overall boxing skills. Margarito's overall career is at welterweight and he knocked most of his opponents in 154 so that's beneficial for him. But, if for any reason you don't want to look at numbers, well let's look at their fights. Margarito damages opponents with massive volume punching and Cotto does it with body blows. I have respect for both when it comes to power but Cotto hits harder witch is the question at hand
Cotto hits harder from a shorter distance as Margarito tends to lunge to get his power shots in. Plus, Cotto's velocity far exceeds Tony's who's much slower when throwing his hooks.
Speed + power combined = more effective in the long run

lol thats no fukin excuse and if u gna look at it like that then magarito has been knocking out alot of bums then.
cause cotto has faced the better opposition and is a 2 time world champion in 2 different wieght classes.
Is that so? well buddy if you rate any boxer in history, this is a factor to determine many answers, numbers that is...

Margarito's uppercuts are damaging blows. But, the Cotto left hook to the body is one of the best weapons in the whole sport....& that's the punch I see making the difference. It's also the punch that's gonna weaken Margarito, which will give him less resistance to the head shots.
