It’s going to be a mix between mental and physical pressure that will be Plant’s undoing. But I’m still betting 200 on Plant. If he wins I get 2500. Those odds are too good to pass up.
Where the hell are you betting 200$ and only getting 2500$ back? I thought the lines were better than that if plant won. Have you looked on
mybookie.ag?
he made $1.5mil in the first, and $3mil for the rematch. that's kinda low for a mayweather jackpot but im sure in argentina, he's living large.
I thought he made some extra for the glove scandal before the 1st fight? Anyone know how much Mayweather paid Team Maidana to not use his normal gloves? 500k? or 1.5 million?
Bump this ....still waiting for Larry to chime back in now that we know there's no VADA and Spence is the one who turned it down after Garcia camp pushed for it.
Spence is suspect AF....
Show us all the quote where the Garcia camp was actually pushing for VADA testing and you can carry on. At this moment they both signed the contract without VADA testing therefore they BOTH are to blame if that is the case unless you can prove otherwise. Quit this one sided crusade some of you "fans" are on.
Nope Spence isn’t angry at all. The injury wasn’t fake. I do know a majority of posters in here are mad that it wasn’t Spence in there embarrassing Pac-Man therefore we wouldn’t have to read these goofy ass posts from you anymore.
Manny can retire now though as you should from posting. :boxing:
Crazy how when it’s a black fighter pulling out of a fight “they’re scared and this and that” let it be somebody else and it’s “let’s start a go fund me guys and make sure he gets better”.
not one of you man fans has ever been in the gym to even know what it’s like to get punched in the face. Spence survived something you wouldn’t have and still came back all this way to return to boxing at a top level. But now all of a sudden he’s scared to fight? Use your brains.
So you do got a boxing gym nearby?
Did you ever fight Larry like you said you were going to?
There’s a good way to resolve this problem we continue to have on these forums.
ThaBoxingVoice a YouTube podcast has successfully put together 10+ events called “Border Wars”. All you have to do is pay the registration fee, they provide the venue, and many other things. The creator of the channel gets you with an even match, or in this case one of these goofy keyboard warriors on this forum and you both can get in the ring and swing.
Its a great way for fans or amateurs or people that have never done shit with their lives other than talk shit behind a keyboard or cellphone the opportunity to see what’s it really like to be in the ring like your favorite boxes you idolize.
Check it out..
In all honesty, Weeks should have gave Kovalev a 8 count, but I'm not 100% sure if there was no standing 8 count in this fight, so if hes slumped over defenseless explain to me the options the ref has? 2 of the blows were borderline and that last one was low before he stopped the fight. In the heat of the moment IF Weeks did not see that punch as being low what other options did he have?
Does Kovalev not know how to take a knee? I don't know about you all but if somebody punches me in the nuts 3 times I'm taking a knee. I'm not going to do a squat and take a *****.
Under the Unified Rules, there is no standing 8 count in championship bouts. Weeks only had ONE option: Stop the fight.
Plus, Kovalev didn't want any more of those body shots. In fact, he was done a few minutes before that.
Well this here answers it all. Kovalev should have taken a knee or otherwise be considered TKO'd. His corner should have made this clear to him before the fight, but they all had the false sense that Ward couldn't hurt him in anyway. Looks like they were wrong.
He didn't want an 8 count.
That's like saying the ref should have given Kell Brook an 8 count.
You saw Kovalev turning his back and dropping to his knees before the stoppage.
Weeks saw it too.
I did but to avoid all this bull**** he should have just gave him his 8 count. Then let Ward beat his ass in to a TKO. I would have much preferred that instead of how it ended last night.
The TKO was coming. After that right hand Kovalev ran around the ring like a chicken with his head cut off. It was just a matter of time.
You ain't even White:lol1:
Stop crying Chola.
Mexicans have the highest dropout rate in the US.
You have jobs because the wealthy gringos want a steady stream of DOCILE and CHEAP labor.
They are using you to destroy the same middle class that pays for your healthcare and education:bottle:
Dummy
Be nice Kigali, too much truth in one post might have some of these guys on suicide watch.
Weeks probably should've given him a standing 8 earlier in the round after ward landed a couple body shots, and he doubled over acting like they were low.
Yea i remember that sequence..Ward even backed away cause Kovalev was out on his legs. Kovalev's body language after good body shots was horrible. Therefore it set him up for that premature stoppage. There's nothing wrong with taking a knee after a good shot to the body. Ask Keith Thurman.
I don't think he has ever trained for a scenario like that. It showed up at the worst time for Kovalev. The absence of a left hook and body work hurt Kovalev in this fight more than anything. Dude came out in the first round and landed the most beautiful right hand to the body then just abandoned it...what kind of game plan was that?
Nobody professional.
I don't think you understand what a disadvantage it is to have never actually boxed.
I could beat him. Seriously, and I would meet him and the rest of you in any gym in the country to prove it. I've been boxing for 11 years, I've trained for 3 hours a day for 6-7 days a week for stretches. I've sparred professionals and amateurs alike. I've had AM fights against fighters who've never had a professional bout who would take his head clean off, and won. I can switch stances, I can cycle through many styles in a single round, I can give a guy two combos a round plus jabs and sweep him never giving him the opportunity to adjust. I know what it's like to be pushed, to be bullied and persevere through adversity. I know how to roll, slip, duck, weave, and pivot away from anything you throw at me. I know how to control the ring, how to cut the ring off, how to stay in your chest and on balance and let my hands go the second you aren't throwing and go mid step. I know how to steal a round, and how to dominate one.
I'm also a 6 year war vet who's successfully stopped countless take down attempts from mma fanbois in my platoon in hand to hand combat and knife fighting to where I would be extremely confident against anyone with an mma background in any ring, or octogon, confident I could end the fight on my feet and in dominating fashion.
What kind of a disgrace to the sport of boxing would I be if after all the work and dedication to the art of boxing, I would lose a round, to some scrub Irishman who's won a handful of fights in the mess of a league that the UFC is? I'd be damned if I lost to someone who's never boxed an official round in his life, me a savant of boxing, a student of the game. I've humbled gifted professionals an Olympian level fighters alike in sparring, I'd never lose to Connor, and I'm not a professional boxer. And you think even club level fighters would be game for this cat? Literally any professional fighter should be favored against him. It's a joke that anyone would think otherwise. The talent disparity between professional boxing and the UFC is gargantuan. Guys like Prescott would wipe out McGregor in one round. I could literally walk into my gym and pick a BEGINNER to fight him, and it would be dead even at worst.
You can laugh, but if you don't think over a decade of dedication to this sport doesn't separate you in a big way from someone who hasn't ever tried to take the sport seriously for even a span of 12 months, you DKSAB.
Sounds like you should get off boxing scene and go make yourself some money in the ring. I'd love to see these "boxing skills" from a dedicated boxing scene poster.
He is going to box and move the whole fight and do what he can to nullify GGG's power because that is his best chance to win.
I think Canelo will box and be on his A game with his upperbody movement. He CANNOT move(legs) the whole fight cause he will tire and GGG will put it on him then. He will need throw combinations after slipping GGG's jab because when you throw combos at GGG he just goes into his shell and lets you get off. GGG will try to establish his Jab early then work off that and Canelo will try to take it away and counter with combos and upperbody movement. I just want to see what happens when they both start to get tired and gameplan A goes out the window, that's when the fight really starts.
Yup, even though the fight matchups could be better competition wise with the star fighters. At least there are lots of fights for the evening to keep everyone entertained.
Yes sir... It's all boxing when it comes down to it. All these people saying they won't pay for the fight or watch it at all better not be the first ones on here riding Mcgregor's d!ck if he gets lucky enough to land something of significance on Floyd.
Plus I want to see how Cotto deals with a guy who throws about 1000 punches a fight if I remember Kamegai correctly. Same guy who fought Robert Guerrero right?
Luckily I have some casual and MMA fans who are friends that are going to order the Mayweather-McGregor PPV. I told them I'll pay for the beer and food, Lol.
We're going to be watching both the Cotto-Kamegai and Mayweather-McGregor fights at the same time on two different TV's side by side. It should be an awesome night for entertainment.
This right here..I'll have Cotto-Kamegai on the projection screen in the house and Mayweather-Mcgregor on the big screen outside. I got 15 people coming over bringing 10$ a head. Easy work as Floyd would say. :boxing:
Horn gets crushed by any world class fighter
Crawford
Peterson
Thurman
Bradley
Brook
Porter
Spence
Danny
Would absolutely destroy horn..
Hell, I think berto and ghost would beat horn..
Horn needs to stay on the Senior Circuit and fight guys like Marquez, Pauli, Judah, Mosley... those are about the only guys I see that horn could actually beat
That's the only circuit he will be on anyway. We all know the Top Rank rotation of fighters for their "champs" at Welterweight.
??? Pacquiao attacked the body more constantly than he usually does in the Horn fight.
Effective body work would have actually stopped all that non-sense horn was doing. You do know the difference right? Or are we trying to say Pacquiao's body attack is at the same level as Spence Jr?
hell where is my damn check then?
Just like with politics in the boxing community bro, certain people have to put a little more effort in to their body of work. If you know what i mean...:afro:
Pacquiao had zero body attack work that was worth mentioning..therefore Horn was able to apply relentless pressure throughout the fight. One way that you deal with fighters like Horn is to go to the body early and often. Spence is one of the best at this. You can root for Horn all you want here but this fight doesn't go 12 rounds at all.
No way man. Maidana was way faster than Margarito and had better 1 punch power. He had good defense against Floyd & Broner. He kept his shoulders high and didnt walk straight in. I don't think Manny could've fought a big welterweight like that ever.
You're crazy..Maidana does not have the same style that Horn has. Maidana would have had his moments vs the 2014 Pac but he does not beat him. The Pac that fought Rios with all that footwork with glimpses of actual boxing IQ would UD Maidana of any level. This current version of Pac is another story though.
No, I don't share with f**kheads. The majority of fans feel that he lost the first Castillo fight and fought to a draw In the first Maidana fight. At the end of the day, all that matters Is how he Is remembered by boxing fans and his peers.
The majority of fans? According to you? At the end of the day all that really matters to any professional boxer is how much money they have in their bank account actually. They could give two ****s about what you or me or the vast majority of "fans" have to say about them. That's a rock solid fact for you.
Horn led with his head all night, tried all the dirty tactics he could and was still lucky to win 4 rounds the whole fight.
He was outlanded by almost 100 punches.
He loses, probably 118-110, anywhere that isn't Australia.
So let's keep this real, please.
Newsflash!...you're logged on boxingscene.com bro. Keeping it real and talking logically was left out the door a long time ago on these forums.
HAHAHAHA I knew you didnt know shit about boxing, judging facial damage and stating compubox stats lol
Let me ask you this.
Who put up a better fight against Mayweather, Cotto Or Guerrero?
WUAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHA
GOT EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GTFOH YOU CASUAL
shit you seen them swivel jabs of horn?
now go google swivel jabs!!!!!!!!! YOU PALOOKA!
Swivel Jabs of Horn? All 19 of them huh?
Talking sh*t about a pregnant woman is pretty low. Besides, you know most of the people posting mean things are probably hideous themselves.......
The problem is they are usually anorexic/ugly or fat/ugly themselves.. What business do they have talking about anyone else? They will just end up forcing Jeff Horn to release the inner beast and actually take over the welterweight division. One headbutt, leg trip, and elbow drop at a time. :boxing::headbang:
HeadShots is one of the many clueless posters that come on here and post pure BS every day. He doesn't know much about boxing but he likes a certain type of fighters. They're usually limited fighters with a faux entertaining style. He thinks if you you're not getting punched in the face repeatedly you're not trying to please the fans. The reason Mayweather and Ward are successful is because they take their sport seriously and they value winning over entertainment no matter what fans like HeadShot think.
Or he's being paid under the table from boxingscene.com to generate traffic on this otherwise boring website. Think about it. Without members like headshots there would be too much logical boxing talk going on. Therefore, we need members like him to keep it entertaining around here.
the manner in which horn defeated pacquiao was better.
You know this, the sports isnt numbers lmfao, next what you gonna show me? a slow-mo youtube clips? and face comparsarion? GTFOH you casual fan!
Hold on..what do you mean " the manner in which horn defeated pacquiao was better" according to who? You and maybe the 20 other all action casual fans on this forum? If you mean "more entertaining action packed fight" then yes I agree with you but on a pure boxing level I really hope that's not what you mean...
The truth Is he lost to Castillo and fought to a draw with Maidana.
The facts are , he Is full of excuses just as you claim Pacquiao Is.
The facts and the truth are Mayweather actually beat both of them twice. Are you trying to rewrite history or something? Are you from some parallel universe where Mayweather is actually 47-1-1? May I have some of what you're smoking as well?
