I find it hard to rate any fighter as top 10 with losses to Danny Garcia and Lamont Peterson on their record.
Khan has beat some good opponents, but I think the loses tarnish his record enough to keep him out of the top 10
Watched the fight and saw there were some close rounds that could have been a coin toss, but overall I gave the fight to Kahn, even though he looked like ****.
I am not sure how someone who has never met me believes that I was swayed by the judges, nor do I know why they would believe it about anyone else who they do not know.
When Ali is against the ropes covering it is called rope-a-dope, when Floyd does it, people say he was pinned against the ropes taking a beating.
Floyd wanted to tire him out and was pretty successful at doing so.
Well he can bribe a person in the court to change it to 2 days before the fight. Or this just Mind Games to disrupt Pacquiao's Camp. Floyd Camp consist not only of Floyd. He has Espinosa (Edit:not Ellerbe), Haymon, His Father, His Uncle in his side. He is not the only one who thinks and decide everything in his camp.
That is all fine and dandy if one ignores reality. It is only a deposition which is easily rescheduled. To get out of deposition, all he, or his lawyer needs to do is call the prosecutor. If that doesn't work, Pacs lawyer can serve an objection and tell them Pac, or even Pac's council cannot make it that day. At the very worst, Pac's lawyer would have to stand in front of a judge and tell them a reason why, and there is not a judge on the planet that would force someone to give a deposition the day before a fight like this, especially in Vegas.
As I said before, this is not a big deal. If Manny didn't want to do it, there is pretty much no way he could be compelled to do it on that date. Now, please, stop with the drama. Mayweather is not some big bad boogey man who is running around bribing lawyers and entire court systems just to have someone walk into a deposition and give a few minutes of testimony, there is not nearly enough return on the massive amounts of money that would take to make it worthwhile.
Side note: For Roach to prove his case, all Manny has to say is that he never seen any one have a discussion with Roach about what was in the drinks. He does not have to say that there were any drugs in the drink, just that he never seen Roach have a conversation about what was in them. Even if Roach was told what was in the shake, unless he saw it being mixed up, he can still claim that he didn't know for sure what was in them.
Come on Manny shouldn't be having to deal with stuff like this right before the biggest fight of his life.
Even if Manny deposition gets postponed it will still be on his mind which cheapens the fight for me.
Words can't describe how cheap and low down this move is.
I give Manny a lot more credit than you do. He is a pro and I cannot see this bothering him the least. Just like the accusations and distractions thrown at Mayweather the last few fights, and just like the tax issues for Manny.
This is nothing to them, not any more of a distraction than stepping a piece of bubble gum on the sidewalk.
So, let me get this straight, Team Mayweather controls the following:
NSAC
USADA
The Judicial System and their scheduling
The Judge
The Lawyers
You forgot a few:
The ringside judges.
The ref.
Showtime
The Nevada boxing commision
HBO
All the promoters
Dempsy, Marciano, Louis, Ali, Leonard, Chavez, Tyson, and of course Manny and Floyd to a lesser degree. Just about every generation had a superstar boxer, but thanks to PPV, those numbers are greatly dwindling.
Like Haymon or not, his bring boxing back to broadcast television is a pretty cool thing.
Yeah, proper fitting shoes are important and one of the rules is to wear the same socks you will be working in when trying on shoes. I do not find the excuse to be that outrageous. Soft ring, shoes slipping around on your feet, and then your ankle bends poorly does sound like a reason to twist ones ankle.
Of course people will take it out of context and focus on the "no socks" part, and say it was an excuse.
I was a a huge fan of Maidana after the Broner fight, and when I saw there was a video I did not believe it at first. After watching the video I am now convinced that there were smelling salts in that napkin. In answer to your question, I believe that Maidana is a cheater and would not be surprised if he were on PEDs.
Years ago when I was working in a factory, we raided the medicine cabinet for smelling salts, would crack one open and stick it in front of someones face when they were unaware. They would react like in the video. The smell didn't go far, you could be standing right in front of them with it in your hand and they would not smell it from any sort of distance. Later during a heat wave, we had to use them for real on a couple of people who passed out from the heat. Same reaction as Maidana.
It is funny how so many people's reply to if Maidana is juicing is, "Oh yeah, well Floyd is!!!" It is almost like screaming, "My dad can beat up your dad".
:lol1::nonono:
now are you going off a 5 second low quality footage from motherf*cking instagram with some idiot going "OHHH RIGHT THERE!"? or did you watch the entire thing and failed to notice ariza wiping maidana's face (eyes) with the same napkin?
The full clip, where after Maidana jerks away, Ariza lowers the gauze, plucks at it with his free hand, and then wipes his eyes. Which clip are you watching? I actually saw the clip of the idiot and went back to my recording to prove him wrong and what I saw seemed pretty convincing.
It's like asking which bullet is bigger: a .45 or .357? They will both kill your ass!
A .45 is larger.
That depends on if you are comparing hooks to hooks and uppercuts to uppercuts instead of a boxers strongest punch to another boxers strongest punch.
It seems to me that Matthysse has more impact because he seems to land cleaner punches than Maidana, but Maidana just may have more force behind his punches, especially with those wild haymakers that he tends to throw.
So, for me, it would depend on how you rate a punch since different punches have different power depending on leverage and physics.
I know!
The "scandals" are not real friend, they have zero evidence connecting the president to anything or any intentional wrongdoing on his part. The only connection there is seems to be in the minds of the GOP who are determined to deny President Obama any significant victory even at the risk of sinking the country.
The GOP are ineffective at getting answers because there's nothing else to provide. If there was some small bit of evidence they could hang their hats on they would. So in the absence of that they make sh1t up and lie on a daily basis. Its ultimately a losing strategy as the re-election of Barack Obama proved, but more than that the GOP consists of graying white dinosaurs that are going extinct even as you and I are in a dialogue. Look at their presidential conventions, mostly white and old. Think about the GOP these days, its about white resentment and grievance.
They hate what Obama represents but what the president represents isn't ever going to change and they know that. So in the end, blind hatred is all some people will ever have.
How can it be said of Democrats, give specific examples please.
Well that is an easy one. Democrats claim the republicans have a "war on women". There are plenty of Democrats that scream racism whenever someone disagrees with them. Claiming 9/11 was an inside job. Ignoring the real problem with guns, which are inner city gangs, and making it about those folk who cling to guns and religion. The price of oil was blamed on the oilman in the White House. Voting for a war before voting against it and then claiming they didn't read the actual laws associated with it.
How about the biggest Democrat failure, which is in the current financial crisis, our beloved Commander in Chief is having such a difficult time finding anyone to prosecute for the economy taking a dump?
Why hasn't Obama shut down the NSA spying? It isn't enough to say it started under Bush, it was wrong when Bush did it and it is wrong when Obama administration does it.
If the country is so against the Republicans, why did Obama win by such a narrow margin?
This is a good metaphor for why there is so much hate in boxing. So many fans are so biased that they are blind to the reality.
There are a bunch of videos on YouTube showing how Manny actually outlanded Floyd by a big margin and blocked many shots that at first looked like they landed, including the one time Floyd seemed to knock Manny back Into the ropes with a combo which actually Manny had blocked every punch of that combo. Why are there no videos proving mayweather won? Its because mayweather fans know pacquiao won and don't have any proof of Floyd outlanding Manny. I cant believe floyds dancing and running actually had me fooled at first. It was the commentators who probably had an effect on it, watching It in mute and it was a completely different fight.
LOL. Did you actually watch it in slow motion? It counts punches landing for Pac that never landed, and ignores equal punches by Floyd. If you get confused by announcers, then watching it in slow motion being fed what is considered a punch, or commentary must really be convincing/confusing for you.
There are no Mayweather videos on Youtube because Floyd fans do not need to go over the videos and cherry pick data, Floyd won by all judges cards by a large margin and all announcers, even the ones on Manny's network. All the judges, announcers and Compubox have Floyd out landing.
Here is a news flash, the judges sit at ringside and see angles that are not picked up on televison. Maybe though, they should change the system and all sit around their houses, drinking beer, rewatching the fight in slow motion, conferring with the internet community and then issue their cards. Maybe they should even consult you! You seem like a rational person and your knowledge on scoring a boxing match seems exceptionally astute.
:stupid:Toradol is a anti inflammatory. like Motrin...but stronger. It numbs nothing!
Wow, calling someone stupid when you think Toradol is just like a strong Motrin. Comparing an OTC vs prescription. Yes, they are both NSAIDs, but tylenol and morphine are both pain killers. That would be like calling hydromorphone just like tramadol only stronger.
From eMed: Ketorolac (Toradol) is the most potent and most effective NSAID analgesic, with efficacy comparable to opioids. The analgesic effect of 30 mg of ketorolac is similar to 10 mg of morphine.
LOL-talk about finding victory in defeat! Keep watching those slow motion videos backwards with a box of tissues nearby.
If you do play it in slow motion backwards with the sound on, you can CLEARLY hear Mayweather saying, "I am losing this fight, Manny is the best, I paid off the judges".
Also, a quick freeze frame at the 2 minute mark of round 7, the shadows in the crowd spell out, "Bribe".
When God promised the victory to Manny's, he had a deal going with Satan, just like the story of Job, and is just testing Manny's faith.
No one remembers second best? What the hell does that mean? Foreman lost to Ali, does that make him second best? Sugar Ray Robinson is regarded as one of the best fighters of all time, does that mean we forgot about everyone else?
Pacquiao is a champion in many different weight classes, I doubt he will ever be forgotten.
Roach is a great trainer, but a silly man.
This is what makes Freddie so popular in the sport. He is a great trainer who can go from brutally honest to grandiose predictions with the same sincerity. While he doesn't have the youth as he did ten years ago, Roach needs to get Pac back to where he was in the Barrera fight, a brutal fighter who doesn't let up.
Lol, I never disagreed with the fact that Pac lost. But I don't think the punch stats were accurate.
I always got the feeling that punch stats are pretty consistently inaccurate also. However, the clown that watched the fight in slow motion was pretty biased, I did a quick check on round 3, which he said was Floyd 3 landed and Manny 8, his count is way off. I didn't bother to count all the punches, nor watch it in slow motion, but Floyd landed more than three and Pacman was pretty weak.
What irks me is that so many people, not necessarily you, has taken this guys word, but just a three minute check shows how wrong he is.
I would have been fine with Peterson running if he was actually throwing shots to win rounds, but he had too many rounds where he ran and didn't throw. If he is more aggressive in even one of those rounds, he wins.
Yes, yes and yes. Great defense is useless without at least some offense. Peterson could have stuck Garcia with the jab a dozen times in the opening 3 rounds. I honestly did not understand his strategy while watching him run so much
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-3077424/The-punch-statistics-prove-Floyd-Mayweather-fortunate-beat-Manny-Pacquiao-unanimous-decision.html
Heh, knew I wasn't the only one that thought (on replay) that the number of punches landed was grossly misstated.
Pac still lost to me tho.
C'mon. That article is based on a Pac fan from ************ who claims to have watched the fight in slow motion several times. He even scored two rounds even, as well as what he saw on television instead of at ringside.
So it comes down to, some guy on Boxingnews and about 6 other experts vs. the three judges, announcers from both Showtime and HBO, and a few dozen experts.
I was waiting for the excuses, but "some guy watched it in slow motion and said it was even", is an excuse I did not see coming.
Nobody can say Floyd is an All Tine Great " defensive fighter" but he's no all time great foghter. All Time Greats get guys out of there. They force the action and take risks to attain that level. Floyd avoids a fight at all costs. Hand picks opponents after their prime, catch weigjts that favor him or after they have been beaten up. He will never reach that level of all time great fighter. Hasn't got the cajones. Its a fact! Sissy fighting all night gor points wins is not what an all time great does.....
Keep thinking about it. I am sure you will find more ways to justify your hatred gor Floyd by coming up with reasons he is not a great foghter.
I would've preferred Floyd not retaliate against Victor, and had let the judges disqualify him. If Floyd had head butted Victor in return, that may have been a certain disqualification of both fighters.
He chose to punch Victor instead as retaliation, and his action didn't violate any boxing rules.
Funny that Floyd haters call it a sucker punch. A sucker punch is when someone isn't expecting it, but considering that Victor just lost a point for a somewhat vicious headbutt, he shoulda been expecting it. Not just head butt, but he lunged with the crown of his head in Floyd's face. Ortiz kissed, hugged, touched gloves and came in for another hug so Mayweather laid him out.
Lesson to be learned is that if you are going to be dirty, expect retaliation and don't take lull in the action to try and get inside someones head.
The only people who still believe pacquiao wasn't injured are the ones who didn't re watch the fight. Its plain as day his right had no pop at all the second half of the fight. How could he hurt mayweather many times with his left but not even move or stun him at all with his right when hes been known to knock ppl down and really hurt guys with his right? He barely threw any right hooks and his surgeon who is very respected amongst pro athletes said he had a significant tear to his rotator cuff. Which makes his performance even more impressive
Because he walked in with the wrong game plan. Watch when Manny got Floyd against the ropes, he swung wildly and then backed off, just like Roach said he needed to do. Get in, flurry, and get out before being countered.
Manny did not press the action and fought like he was scared, and he probably was. He knows that someone like Floyd could easily land the same punch that JMM knocked him out with and Manny had to avoid that at all costs. He could not afford to lose so decisively. A close match means he can claim robbery and have his fan base run around and make excuses and whine in public forum. If he got knocked down or KO'd, then there would be no excuses and he would immediately become a has been. His hero status would be diminished in the eyes of his countrymen.
Manny and Arum capitalized on being the one that, "Floyd is scared of", and they raked in the cash from it. Every fight Manny had, he would call out Floyd and people sucked it up. Floyd is ducking!!! Manny could beat him easily!!! It all came crashing down on May 2nd when Manny wouldn't engage and was unable to cut off the ring. Floyd did what he always does, pot shot and counter, Pac changed his game plan and backed off.
