Who do you guys say the bigger puncher is. I know Matthyse and Maidana have the exact same number of fights and a similar KO ratio but who would you guys say is the bigger puncher?
I always thought it was Maidana but people seem to be giving him no chance against Floyd while some of those same people were giving Matthyse a chance against Floyd before his fight with Garcia.
What do you guys think?
Just saying, I think people overrate the ko of Peterson...the guy was rabbit punched and was clearly more frail than usual... like he was in some kind of withdrawal from those testosterone pellets.
I don't think either guy has a truly great KO on their record though.
What both have done is consistently hurt normally durable opponents, like Peterson.
Its not like Maidana has a load of KO's better than Peterson was for Matthysse

with a moving target i'd say matthysse.
if you're talking about hitting a stationary target it's definitely maidana. i'm confident that if you held mitts for both that you'd say chino was the markedly harder puncher.
if matthysse takes the time to allow his body to adjust to welterweight he will hit harder. he'll be punching bigger opponents, though, and will probably show less power because of that.
sorry, he'll be punching bigger opponents *doe*.
I think Matthysse put dudes to sleep with shots that don't even look that damaging where as maidanas look sickening most of the time. Imma go with Matthysse as the bigger puncher but not by much
Danny bangs hot girls. Matthysse wears leather chaps at gay bars :lol1:
Hate to break it to you, but Danny gets banged, gets banged hard and likes it a lot. I'm not judging, just saying, you know.
Common opponents. Devon and Corley both felt Matthysse's power more than Maidana's.
Problem is, Maidana has better technique now than he did in those fights.
And technique increases leverage which adds to punching ability
Also he's a healthy 147 lber..and Matts is 140.......
Danny's mouthpiece flew out because he was laughing at what little effect Matthysse's punch had. He'd eat Chino's punches like Churrasco.
The rumor goes that Danny eats pennis. People are mean, but that's what they are saying.
Matthysse has more one punch power IMO
Maidana is very heavy handed but Lucas has savage power where he don't need to hit you clean to f*ck your world up.
I know styles make fights but worth noting they have a lot of shared competition and Lucas did better against them all.
Maidana has game changing power but he tends to wear guys down. Lucas is a one hitter quitter.
Chino has more raw general strenght, Matthysse seems to punch harder. Chino's strengh seems to come in handy when dealing with clinches and wrestling moves, like when Broner would try to clinch and wrestle him, Maidana would still free one arm and let him have it. Matthysse has that one punch KO thing that if he lands it, it sends solid guys nite nite.
this, lucas has that one punch KO that chino hasn't shown in a while. but he still punches like a mule. lucas is a KO artist and marcos is a TKO artist
Maidana hits harder... and that is saying a lot.
If Chino hits Danny as Lucas did in the 11th round (when the mouthpiece went flying) they are still looking for Danny's jaw.
It's like asking which bullet is bigger: a .45 or .357? They will both kill your ass!
A .45 is larger.
That depends on if you are comparing hooks to hooks and uppercuts to uppercuts instead of a boxers strongest punch to another boxers strongest punch.
It seems to me that Matthysse has more impact because he seems to land cleaner punches than Maidana, but Maidana just may have more force behind his punches, especially with those wild haymakers that he tends to throw.
So, for me, it would depend on how you rate a punch since different punches have different power depending on leverage and physics.

It's interesting to see the differences in opinion here. I would say Maidana is the harder hitter but I can see why people are saying that its actually Matthyse.
Maidana. Bigger.. More ferocious. And since his technique has shaped up it's definitely Maidana.
Those using Devon as a barometer shouldn't... Devon had learned from Matts and Bradley ect.. For instance from Matts he learned its smart to stifle a puncher's output. From Bradley he learned to win in any way possible. If Devon had fought Maidana before he fought Matts.. Maidana would have knocked him down too, and possibly stopped him..
Anyway.. Maidana.
