^ as title, the hate of some fans levelled as 'criticism' to some fighters with no real justification gets pretty stupid...
Can any other sport compare to the amount of haters we have in the 'community' of boxing enthusiasts?
Is anyone immune from hate? What is the criteria to keep everyone happy, all of the time (if this exists)?

come to Canada & go to Toronto or my city of Edmonton... worst bandwagon jumping fans in all sports!!!! Toronto is like that both in hockey & baseball. win 3 in a row give the coach a 10 year extension & resign all players, lose 3 in a row fire the coach & the armchair GMs are on overdrive on who has to go... it is really sad... it's in all sports
well, i am from argentina, those things happen here all the time, that is why since last year there is no more visitor in matches, only the local crowd, and that isn't a guarantee for nothing. fans end up destroying their own stadium and fighting the police.
Yeah, I do know that it's a LOT more prevalent in South American and African football, but in Europe for example that almost never happens, literally. Not to the extent you talk about anyway. I get what you mean though, but in football it's just there are hooliganism cultures in some areas, and there is some extreme hate, but that's not what i'm talking about when talking about boxing fans.
Come on, that is an EXTREME exaggeration. Such events are fairly rare and localised in locales with history of such things. GENERALLY, this never happens in let's say the Western world. Also, as I have mentioned before, this 'hate' is not a hate like wishing death on fighters and stuff like that, just things like unwarranted criticism for the sake of 'hating', not respecting fighters and things like that.

I know!
The "scandals" are not real friend, they have zero evidence connecting the president to anything or any intentional wrongdoing on his part. The only connection there is seems to be in the minds of the GOP who are determined to deny President Obama any significant victory even at the risk of sinking the country.
The GOP are ineffective at getting answers because there's nothing else to provide. If there was some small bit of evidence they could hang their hats on they would. So in the absence of that they make sh1t up and lie on a daily basis. Its ultimately a losing strategy as the re-election of Barack Obama proved, but more than that the GOP consists of graying white dinosaurs that are going extinct even as you and I are in a dialogue. Look at their presidential conventions, mostly white and old. Think about the GOP these days, its about white resentment and grievance.
They hate what Obama represents but what the president represents isn't ever going to change and they know that. So in the end, blind hatred is all some people will ever have.
How can it be said of Democrats, give specific examples please.
Well that is an easy one. Democrats claim the republicans have a "war on women". There are plenty of Democrats that scream racism whenever someone disagrees with them. Claiming 9/11 was an inside job. Ignoring the real problem with guns, which are inner city gangs, and making it about those folk who cling to guns and religion. The price of oil was blamed on the oilman in the White House. Voting for a war before voting against it and then claiming they didn't read the actual laws associated with it.
How about the biggest Democrat failure, which is in the current financial crisis, our beloved Commander in Chief is having such a difficult time finding anyone to prosecute for the economy taking a dump?
Why hasn't Obama shut down the NSA spying? It isn't enough to say it started under Bush, it was wrong when Bush did it and it is wrong when Obama administration does it.
If the country is so against the Republicans, why did Obama win by such a narrow margin?
This is a good metaphor for why there is so much hate in boxing. So many fans are so biased that they are blind to the reality.

The top guys in every sport will have haters. Lebron is hated, Jordan was hated, Kobe is hated. Then football name a top guy not named Manning that isn't hated. Baseball is the same way.....hell put it this way, anytime someone is successful in anything....they're hated on. It's the nature of humans to put down what someone accomplished because you yourself couldn't. Business, Sports, Music, Acting....the list goes on.
TL;DR Haters are everywhere.
exactly, can you imagine your a public disgusted with the course of a fight starting a riot? well, that tends to happen in football normally. if we talk about real hate, football has way worse fans than any other sports.

I agree
Theres been stadium size brawls in soccer, theyre known as barras, hooligans ect.
Boxing has its shares of foolishness but soccer takes it and its not even close.

The problem is most people have played other sports but have never boxed.
They don't understand that boxing requires more attributes than any other
sport, and once people box and become exhausted in under a minute, they
start to appreciate!I have seen this first hand!
Truth.
I guess we have a different view on what hating means. I am talking about real hate when a person saids " I fvcking hate Mayweather and I hope he dies" or "If I see Pacquiao I would want to stab him with a rusty knife". The hate I'm talking is more of the jealously or frustration leading for one to criticise, pout or cry. Your right if a fan have really bad ill will for fighters then it's pretty sad.
Aren't the two different? I am just talking about fighters that get put down or hated on just cos a group or individual doesn't like the fighter, not for fighting reasons, or for example tries to nullify their accomplishments and stuff like that. Or unwarranted criticism, take today's fight for example - GGG stopped a guy that was never stopped before, put in a relaxed performance but due to small reasons or opinions many fans on here have moved from viewing him as a beast capable of beating all the top dogs he could face to now being schooled by most of them? That's just a quick example but you get what I mean.
I haven't really seen instances of hate where you want to cause real harm to a boxer...it's just a lack of respect I'm talking about or trying to find flaws where they don't necessarily exist.
Hating and giving genuine criticism which is constructive or reasonable and genuine debate are vastly different things. And the things you mentioned, what has that got to do with hating? Sure, we can criticise a lot of things in this sport cos its far from perfect. But the thing which makes the sport, the real heart of it, are the fighters. And unjust hate, often borne out of things which are not even boxing related but down to things like personal feelings, is not right and not welcome in the sport, IMO. :boxing:

Anybody has the right to hate because let's be serious the sport of Boxing can be so much better but we've gotten use to mediocre PPV cards, main events, horrible judging, robberies, PED use and mismatches that we just have to accept the crap they give us.

I see there's no point discussing things with you. Ignorance is bliss.
Yes, no point in discussing anything is there, especially when one has zero facts.
When you look at it, the biggest hater groups tend to be of the most successful fighters in the sport. That is another way of showing that they are indeed the greatest in the sport.
Golovkin, Pacquiao, Mayweather... < Top 3.
You think Golovkin is top 3 most hated boxer?
Most people I know like him, they just want to see him step up. Other than that, he's nowhere near known enough to be able to say he's hated as much as a pacman or a mayweather.
Of course not, Boxing is a dinky little sport compared to other sports.
There's Soccer, Baseball, Basketball which is watch by millions and millions of people, and in turn have millions of haters.
Boxing has some ignorant, dumbass fans. I get annoyed by the hate and constant criticism of fighters. When people on here call decent fighters bums, that gets on my nerves.

Yes. No matter how much of a warrior you are inside the ring, how many weight classes you move up and how much of a humble gentleman you are, there will be haters. Manny showed me this
Bullsh1t dude, and the NSA was doing the same thing with Bush and previous presidents in office. I understand the GOP wants to turn Obama into a Communistic, Socialist, Muslim, Santa Claus dictator but you actually need facts to do that, evidence. There are no scandals except in New Jersey.
Huh? You lost me.....
I see there's no point discussing things with you. Ignorance is bliss.
Even hardcore Democrats are jumping off the Obama bandwagon - the NSA spying being just one of the reasons - it's not just the GOP. Republicans aren't really interested in getting answers as Democrats aren't interested in giving them, as many of the same things that are going down in office would be happening if a Republican was President - they just want the scandals known, that's all they need for reelection. In the end, all that matters is if the people care enough about the scandals or not. "peeleft:

Not interested in talking politics here but examples from dems include
the War on Women (a fancy way for talking about abortion). And yet Dems are for seat belt and helmet laws. Hmmm you have the right over your own body to have an abortion but not to decide whether or not to wear a helmet?
The 2nd Amendment hoop-la is another.
Medi-scare is a third.
I could go on. And I'm sure you would like to debate some of the issues I brought up but let's not. Not here. I'm glad that this is a politics-free-zone.
