I think Taylor hasn't the experiance or been tested yet and he will find himself out of his depth with Hopkins. He over committs on his punches, drops his jab and although he does have power and is a big middleweight that hasn't helped other big punchers down through the ages when faced with an experianced seasoned champion and lets not forget Hopkins can bang too.
I see Hopkins nailing Taylor with his right over Taylors jab and outboxing him.
Taylor has a punchers chance but I favour Hopkins by at least a UD decision and quite possibly a stoppage.
Because like it or not Americans are the best fighters in the world, they have the best trainers the best technique, their just the best.
I include Mexico and other central and south American countries in that of course as in the Americas in total not just the U.S.A.
LOL! That is some funny shit. But seriously it fits that Tyson would go down like this, getting more pathetic until he is spit out the bottom of the porn industry. ;)
Eastern Europe leaves America in the dust as far as science and training is concerned, that's why Eastern European's have always boxed the heads off American's at the Olympic's and World championships and shit, always!
And in the pro game the Americans lead the way. Only since European fighters have started to adopt American technique have they begun to catch up. :boxing:
That means nothing, we have twice the sporting oppurtunity here than in the UK. We have american football, baseball, basketball, hockey, futbol to go along with Boxing. What do you have other than futbol that the country goes crazy for? Maybe cricket, but other than that, it should be notable that we have so many popular athletes in so many sports and STILL manage to tear up the world in boxing.
Fuckin' right. The whole scoring system is skewed.
Say "Leonard",and a true boxing fan immediately thinks "Benny".
Say "Sugar Ray", and a true boxing fan thinks only "Robinson".
I could not have said it better myself abright1. :boxing:
Tyson says this shit everytime... Nothing new.
He's also in the best shape of his life, he's hitting harder than he's ever hit before, blah, blah, blah...
I will give you 10 million points if Tyson fights within 6 weeks of this fight. ;)
Exactly, he said he would fight every 4 weeks back in 1988 and as one writer put it it was the boxing equivalent of the check's in the mail.
Hey! It's 5:11 pm and I am watching the fight live. The card starts at 7:00 pm and the main event because they show ALL the undercards will start around 10:30 pm.
I am hoping Kessler wins by ko. :)
Firstly let me congratulate Hatton on an outstanding performance.
He certainly proved me wrong.
The home town advantage is huge, sports teams rarely lose at home the statistics bare that out.
I do not believe that Hatton could win the same way on Tszyu's home turf. So yes I thought the same thing last night. They should fight a rematch here in Sydney.
I am hoping MUNDINE wins, and I predict that he will win by a close decision. For all you Mundine haters who are Aussies, shame on you.......
Kessler wins by UD. Just because I am from the same country as Mundine does not mean I should support him, that is ridiculous. As he showed yet again by his behaviour (in spurts) during the fight he is a dick. People love Kostya here because he is a gentlemen and a legit fighter and he's Russian for christ's sake.
On a positive note I was impressed during the fight with the punishment Mundine took. He did show heart.
Beating a stiff like McBride wont prove a thing. I am well aware of McBrides limitations as a fighter. My problem with Tyson from a pure boxing stand point is this, Tyson is 38, he has been knocked out 4 times, the last time by an undercard bum. A man (Williams) who then went on and fought Klichko (sic) and was never in the fight. Tyson's skills eroded long ago, he lives a bad life style. Everytime he has had a real test and had to fight through adversity he folded like a deckchair, he has no heart. For ANYONE to say he will dominate boxing in 2006 is rejecting reality. He is finished.
how bout we all reserve judgement, he is still fighting, boxing is the sport where anything can happen right? so when he is retired then u can say hes done.
I agree to disagree. Let's see what happens. :)
2005 Kevin McBride KO1
2005 Some other BUM KO1 maybe Riddick Bowe
2005 Danny Williams KO1 maybe 2
2006 Evander Holyfield KO5
Then by this Time Tyson will be Ranked high in the WBA rankings.
2006 John Ruiz KO3 New WBA champ
2006 Andrew Golota, Golota quits again in the 4th New WBO champ
2007 Chris Byrd KO2 Byrd gets caught early, its over New IBF champ
2007 Vitali Klitschko KO6 New Undisputed champ IRON MIKE
Tyson can retire now financially stable at age 41 and 3 time heavy weight champ. Best career ever.
That ain't happening in this or any other life time. When will people realize tyson is a shot fighter who can only beat absolute non entities.
I'll go along with that. The 50-50 comment is the way I feel about this too. To many if's and but's. I have a feeling it is going to be a great fight tho!
Kevin Mcbride says he's not scared of Tyson. He should be tho.
As for Tyson's hit list it will be the usual roster of stiffs until (probably) another over hyped big payday against a legit fighter and Tyson again comes up against resistance and is KO'D.
Same old same old.
Anyone would of been better then this guy. He fucking blows. They should of hired Jimmy Lennon Jr.
Jimmy Lennon Jr, the poor man's Michael Buffer. :)
I'm not taking the piss, he's all right but he ain't no king buff.
I'm still sticking with Tszyu. I know he's old now, but I think he still has two or three big fights left in him. Plus qaulity of opposition and experiance.
Thanks for info so far. I have seen Taylor fight nine times now and wonder why a huge middleweight that (according to Hopkins) walks around at 175 has been feasting on junior middleweights for most of his career.
It'll be entertaining for as long as it lasts no matter who Maussa fights. Awkward fighters like Maussa while spaz's are always more difficult to fight than you think they will be.
I should hope so buddy :)
Im not accusing them of taking roids it is all just from what i have read on forums etc.
And i was just wondering is how they get away with it?
The testers are wise to someone else taking their urine test. Athletes have to piss in front of a doctor and then hand the sample straight over to them. The way they get away with it is by taking newly developed steroids that the testers don't know about. If the roid is a new brew they can't test because a test has not been developed for it cause they don't know there's a new roid out there. unless someone alerts them as was the case a couple of years back when a coach sent a used needle to the u.s. testing authority and slew of olympians and pro baseball players were caught.
he has actual skills...and can fight a 12 round fight with the same conviction and effectiveness as the first...
Exactly right. Also he is so relaxed in there (which of course is why he is so fresh after 12 rounds) and his defense is the best bar none.
I like Wright in a technical boxing match against Hopkins. Sissy jabbing ass? Someone said that, the jab is a weapon and a very effective one when used by a master boxer. :boxing:
Mayweather the best fighter in the world? I'm inclined to agree.
He can certainly back up his mouth. Hatton v Mayweather? Hatton would get slaughtered.
Give the "little" people a break they deserve their ppv in the sun too.
I was highly skeptical of pbf for a long time before I found out he had beaten Correles and Correles had never been in the fight and he beat Castillo twice. The Gatti fight had always been in my mind a foregone conclusion. I was watching fnf's last night and Ricky Hatton was guest analyst, he was talking about his tactics for beating zoo and I was impressed both by his boxing knowledge and his down to earth nature. I have posted already that pbf would destroy Hatton, but after seeing him on fnf I think he at least has a chance against pbf. I liked his response to Mayweather giving him shit, "He's a class act int' he."
I have a thought on Gatti v Mayweather tho, the old time trainers always said you work with a fighters natural attributes, if your guy is a boxer you don't try to turn him into a brawler and vice versa, you work with what your boy brings to the ring and teach him to use his skills to their best affect. So if he is a walk up slugger you teach him to move his head etc. Gattis' only chance was to rough up Floyd and LET HIS HANDS GO! You aint gonna win by laying back, not against a pure boxer like pbf. But I suppose it's easy to say when I am not the one who had to fight him.
The article title is something along the lines of Mayweather has to beat Cotto and Hatton to be great, but he is already more highly respected by the boxing community than the other two.
In reality, it is Hatton and Cotto who need to beat Mayweather for them to be legit.
I agree, those two men need to prove their worth to Mayweather. Hatton's victory over Zoo was impressive but Kostya was a much better style fit for Hatton than Mayweather will be. Anyone who thinks Hatton will give Mayweather trouble is dreaming. Hatton is made to order for Mayweather, he will pick him apart toy with and ko him no problem. Cotto will be a tougher test but the same result.
