JMM, is the best fighter Floyd would have faced (Oscar was past his prime when they fought to a SD)...and that's coming off a long layoff.
Size isn't an issue in this fight.
It will be very very close.
that's what i was thinking. the toughest/best fighters floyd fought towards the end were probably judah and castillo before that. judah he was able to figure out, castillo made it very close for the first fight, and he won it on my scorecard. but that's not the point. the point is marquez is better than most of the fighters mayweather faced, even that past-prime version of dlh that floyd fought.
so i think this could be closer than most people think. the only thing that really worries me as a marquez fan, is the going up in weight to face a bigger man. that could be the decisive factor. that being said, i'm by no means a floyd hater or anything. in fact, i hate no fighter. may the best man on the ring come fight night win. in the end, i'm really glad the fight got made. if nothing else, marquez should get a nice paycheck.
cotto - margo used to be my favorite, but now it feels like it was all a farce to me. i haven't watched it since plastergate happened
chavez-taylor i just watched for like the 10th time yesterday. i think it was much closer on the scorecards than the hbo crew would make you believe. amazing fight. taylor was great that night.
pavlik - taylor I is a lot of fun
barrera - marquez, which i keep watching while scoring to find a winner, but i always see it as a draw.
I have one working right now..its not posted go to justintv and /sportinwood08
the password is eatmypancakes
Show me some love..this is a working link im on it now.
thanks! mighty kind of you sir =)
i don't think there's a point in hatton going up to 147 again against a top ww.
his chances are way better making marquez fight him at 140, and even there i think marquez wins a clear ud.
LOL Margarito didn't do **** but block punches with his face the entire Pac fight. Maybe if he would have had that extra peripheral vision he could have avoided a couple of those shots. If he ends up not seeing out of that eye during the Cotto fight he is going to get hurt period.
Yeah, but at least those blocked punches didn't show up on Compubox's count.
See? This is why Floyd prefers to have fantasy fights instead of real fights. All this controversy is a real hassle, you know? Who has the time? It's a lot easier to beat someone in your head than in the ring.
I think Cotto is the more skilled of the two. If his conditioning holds up and if his defense has improved even a little bit, then he should take a decision here.
But I don't know how good Cotto's camp has been. His inability or unwillingness to stick with any one trainer bothers me, it smacks of inconsistency. If he was still training with Steward, then I'd actually put money on Cotto taking this one.
As things are, I think Margo will give Cotto hell. I'd say there's a 60% chance this ends with a decision for Cotto and a 40% chance of another KO for Margo.
I don't think so, he said he wants to fight the Cotto-Margarito winner again.
He said that? Regardless of who wins, he'd get smoked. I don't think he's got anything left.
Yes, but I'm also sorry that he was going to cheat and didn't only because he got caught. He shouldn't have been allowed to fight ever again, period. How he's allowed to take part in a big money fight is beyond me.
so ur admitting the jmm clearly lost the 1st 2 fights cuz he wants an immediate remtach
Marquez wasn't given the win by the officials in either of the fights. Manny got the win by the officials in the third one but he behaves like he lost by asking for a rematch.
Take your time to read, mate.
Marquez shots were cleaner, but Pacquiao was still more accurate. Marquez lost.
Haha. That doesn't even make sense.
If you need to resort to twisted logic to justify your position, more power to you.
Marquez actually won rounds 11 and 12, despite what Lederman and the rest of the HBO crew say. He controlled the pace of the fight, landed some shots, and didn't allow Manny to get off.
It is a measure of accuracy. I agree that Marquez's shots stood out more but he was not more accurate.
Do you agree there are varying degrees of accuracy? That some landed punches are more accurate than other landed punches? If you do, then that means accuracy is about the quality of punches landed, NOT quantity of punches landed.
Percentage of connected punches counts the punches that landed and divides by punches thrown. Therefore, it is a ratio of quantities and, by definition, can NOT say anything about the quality of punching.
Pacquiao's connect percentage was higher in the fight so he was more accurate.
That's not a measure of accuracy, it's a measure of efficiency. It says whether a punch landed or not, but it doesn't say anything at all about how well the punch landed.
-If you think Manny lost, watch it again
-I did
-You saw it again and still think Manny lost? Watch it in slo-mo
-I did
-You saw it slo-mo and still gave more rounds to Marquez?
-Yeah
-You're doing it wrong. You need to give them to Pacquiao
-Oh
-There you go. You're a nice little soldier now.
Seriously, grow up.
what do you call this piece of paper that judges use to score fights, aint it a scorecard dumbass!...or do you really expect a scorecard to be to be made of hard material.....does a blackboard always have to be black too?...stupid motherfukker....
That's not a scorecard because those are not scores. They are punchstats.
