At first, I didn't really think the whole issue about Juanita stepping on the foot was a big deal when the first few thread about it came up. But, having rewatched the fight last night, there were several of those moments were Juanita would step on Dumbquiao's foot and he ended up landing some eye-catching combos and it was probably those combos that won Juanita the rounds.
So, yeah, at first I didn't think the strategy of stepping on PAC's foot was a big deal, but, having been able to see the fight a second time(an added bonus was HB* gave us some new camera angles of the fight), those particular moments where he stepped on the foot and as a result had PAC off-balanced and he was able to unleash combos, that definitely played a role in winning him some rounds, since alot of those rounds were really close.
And I think alot of those incidents(stepping on the foot) were intentional, we can debate it all night long, but, it was happening all too much. And yes, I would know a thing or two about southpaws facing righties, I've sparred with alot of 'em. It is definitely one of those cheap tactics learned in the gyms.
And yes, it's inevitable that it happens between righties and lefties, however, I think Juanita's was deliberate alot of times. You could tell, in some those instances, it was deliberate, usually when a fighter accidentally steps on someone else's foot, he usually takes it off right away, but, in Juanita's case he would plant it hard and not let go and just take advantage of the situation, lmao

or better yet...when illiterates try to be funny
how many times does this have to be posted
Your video is nothing but another pathetic attempt to twist the facts. It showed once or, at the most, twice when Pac stepped on Marquez's foot. Both happened on rd.1 and on both times, Pac immediately moved his foot away.
On rd.2, neither was stepping on the others' foot at 1:38. Watch it in slomo and you will see that Pac could not have stepped on Marquez's foot. He planted his foot first before Marquez did.
Aside from those from rd. 1, you have nothing else to show. Now compare your evidence to these videos:

Plus this:

In these 8 rds. shown, Marquez was caught on video 18 times, Pac just two.
Marquez doing it unintentionally?
No way.
Very poor comparison.
On rd.1, it was clearly accidental. Pac immediately took off his foot.
In the rd. 2 two clip, their feet were touching each other, neither was stepping on the other.
On the other hand, on rd. 1 alone, Jmm was stepping on Pac's foot at 1:11. :32, :14 and :11.

On rd. 2 JMM stepped on Pac's foot at 1:06, :26, and one more time just before the round ended.
http://youtu.be/7ilvbv8Xjn4
On rd. 3, the video caught Jmm twice, at 2:29 and :09. 0 for Pac.
http://youtu.be/FFXHNvam6H8
On rd. 5, the video showed JMM 3 times, Pac 0. At 1:26, :17 and :14.
http://youtu.be/nweXCmSJ6js
On rd. 6, it showed JMM doing it at 1:17.

In just 5 rounds, Marquez was caught on video stepping on Pac's foot 13 times. A great portion of the videos did not include the action taking place below the hips. How many more of these infractions not caught on video is anybody's guess.
Take note also that Marquez was lifting his foot a few inches above the surface and was stepping forward in a straight line towards Pac's foot, not outside of it.
In Pac's case, the videos caught him stepping clearly on Marquez's foot once, only on rd.1, and he took it off in a split second. What these videos clearly showed was Pac trying to put his right foot outside of Marquez's left foot, and he hardly stepped on Marquez.
This is exactly right. Marquez was lifting his whole foot, planting the heeel, and coming down hard with the main part of his foot swuare onto MannyP.'s foot, and staying there as long as he coud, whilst firing off combinations. MannyP on the other hand, unable to move was trying to get away and was more open to being hit. It was blatant, and looked well practiced.
In the 12th, Marquez not only plonked his whole foot on Pacquiao's, but walked a couple of steps forward on Pacquiao's foot, with MannyP going backwards trying to escape it. REALLY blatant.
The Roach is a fool, I regret to say, for not jumping on this when the slo mo has made it so obvious. He probably didn't see it then, and now, because it's a reflection on his observation powers, won't admit that it was a problem, because that would be admitting his negligence.
Read and watch the videos in the post above yours. It might change your mind.
It's unbelievable that some of Pacquiao's fans are still going on about this foot thing.
Pac fans, go to the 1:00 minute mark of the following video and listen to what Pacquiao's friend Amir is saying.
Now go to this video of HBO's "Face Off" between Pac and JMM. Go to the 6:26 mark and listen to what Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach has to say:
They're stepping on each other's feet because both fighters are trying to dominate the combat zone. For those asking why this didn't happen more often in their first two fights, it should be obvious from the Face Off video that both fighters are clearly aware of the importance of this position and are fighting for it. Pacquiao is a bit more technical now, remember?
Another thing that should be noted; it was a clean fight with both fighters touching gloves after punches strayed and accidental head clashes. On some of these occasions, Pacquiao would point things out to the ref by motioning, such as pointing to his waist when he thought punches might be low or to his head after the accidental clash of heads. He never pointed toward his feet.

sure part of game plan but its ok RT @iam_ninoy: saw vid clip JMM stepped on Pacquiao foot 6 times Is it legal, cheating or unsportsmanlike?

No very common when southpaws face right handers RT @LuckyLindy21: Marquez was consistently stepping on Mannys foot could that cause cramps?
Pacfans, stop with this "foot stepping" BS already. You're embarrassing yourselves.
Just wondering if those stepping on foot happened on the first 2 meetings. The first 2 fights will answer the question. Intentional or Not?It's unbelievable that some of Pacquiao's fans are still going on about this foot thing.

Damn pac fans are really butt hurt about this foot stepping thing. Do I really have to post the vid of Pac doing the same thing to Marquez in the fight also?
Calm down even Roach said that it didn't matter or effect the fight. What next Pac should get 10 min water breaks between rounds to prevent cramps?
Naw man....they just need to time their fights better around Manny's menstrual cycles.......
these ideas of marquez intentionally stepping on pacs foot are childish c'mon guys really. I know you guys like pac but c'mon seriously
Read and watch the videos in the post above yours. It might change your mind.

See? This is why Floyd prefers to have fantasy fights instead of real fights. All this controversy is a real hassle, you know? Who has the time? It's a lot easier to beat someone in your head than in the ring.
Natural for a Orthodox and Southpaw to clash heads/step on feet. Pac did it too. The ref was standing right there in the ring and saw it as incidental contact. Pac's corner made zero complaints during the fight about it. Pac didn't under perform he got outclassed by a great boxer. You are just trying to find ways to take credit from a great Marquez performance. Every time JMM faces Pac the same thing will happen over and over again.Juan's performance was what I expected, he seemed to have pivoted more and stepped on Dumbquiao's foot alot more for this fight though, lol.
I expected Dumbquiao to apply more pressure, but, he tried the whole idea of counter the counter-puncher a lil too much. It's not necessarily a bad strategy, but, I expected him to counter the counter-puncher while moving forward.
Instead, what Dumbquiao/Roach had in mind was let Juanita lead with his counter and then step back a lil and counter Juantita's lead counter.
But, Dumbquiao's sense of distance was so bad, that even when they were able to let Juanita's lead out, he stepped back too far to capitalize on it. I was envisioning DUmbquiao to slip and bob punches and then countering the Juanita's counter, not, stepping back and countering himself, get it ?
At the end of the day, PAC committed way too many tactical errors, and I don't think it was forced by Juanita
