Too many advances in modern sport training and nutrition have rocked athleticism. If you check the athletic olympic records at wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Olympic_records_in_athletics#Men.27s_records ) all records, but one, have been set from 1980 onwards. To think boxing as a sport, and boxers as athletes, have not improved with time would require some argument personally I have not considered. Maybe if Ali was born today, with today's training methods and nutrition, he would be #1. Maybe not. But comparing old timers to fighters from around the 80's till now is not fair to the athletes of old, nor to boxing. It would be as saying boxing has stood still while athletic ability in other sports flourished. Feel free to disagree.

If he stays in the lower weights, I don't see anyone beating him. Montiel is good, but will have a hard time dealing with such a crafty boxer/puncher who has height and reach advantage over him. Hasegawa went up. Juanma will keep going up. Darchinyan will get KFTO inside three rounds if he ever steps against Nonito again. Morel can only dream, he had a hard time against a very old Penalosa. Nonito Donaire future P4P #1.

I watch Juanma's 12th round against Mtgawa. They should give it to suicidal patients and tell them: "SEE?!?!? You hang on and fight! That's how winning is done!" And win Juanma did. HATERS GONNA HATE.

Throws too wide. Lacks one punch KO power. Has a tendency to back up in a straight line when attacked. Severely uncoordinated. Does not know how to balance his body properly, instead generates energy in his punching by swinging them (hence the wide punches). He looks good against guys that are intimidated by his height and reach, and don't look for a way to beat a guy with those advantages. Juanma could fight him for what he is, a nice tune-up fight. He fought almost a whole fight with a broken jaw, against one of the most physically imposing fighters out there (Edison Miranda), and won. That's more amazing than surviving 12 rounds with a fractured orbital bone against a smaller guy you outweigh by almost 20 pounds, who carried you in the 12th round because he's Catholic, and lose every round.

I LOL if he is referring to HEIGHT. Paul Williams has a GREATER height advantage over him than the one he has over PACQUIAO. Paul Williams is taller than 6'1. Let's start at that. Martínez IS 5'10, tops. On paper, it's a 4 inch height advantage for Williams over Sergio. More like 5, almost 6, in reality. Williams got sh*tted. Margo had a 4 1/2 inch advantage over Pac. He got sh*tted. Sergio would have a 3 1/2 inch advantage over Pac. That is less than what Margo had, and less than what Paul had against himself. So... I don't get Sergio's reasoning IF he is referring to height. If he is referring to other stuff, like bone density, X-morphic body, etc. then he might be right.

In the 10 seconds or so that took them to mock Freddy Roach's Parkinson's, Margo, Ríos and García overshadowed all the talk and BS that the Mayweather's have done against Roach/Pacquiao. In just about 10 seconds. I don't think the Mayweather's will be able to compete. Even they won't go that low. They have been around the block and know brain disease and boxing is a subject you don't joke about. Can the Mayweather's go as low? I think they have the creativity, but they will not do it.
