Sergio wins.
Pavlik was supposed to be a dangerous puncher as well.
If taylor could beat AA for 12 rounds until the final 10 seconds then trust me Sergio could do better.
People underestimate martinez' smarts. He had a game plan for each of these fights that he was "not supposed to win" and each time he pulled it off with laser precision. He'd take care of AA.
UD for sergio.
are u sure ur not thinking of the froch-taylor fight? both were 12th round ko's
man foreman has to be one of the baddest mother****ers in boxing... destroying pretty much everyone excpet ali who threw him into a perfect gameplan... and ali is one of the greatest, he was the only one to really beat foreman in his hayday
then he comes back as a fat old man and serves all these young boxing prospects!
foreman ftw
I work Pacquiao when I fight him.. i mean he's harder than other yeah but thats because he is considered #1 p4p right now.
If your good you'll still beat him
9 rounds to 3 for pacquiao. i dont even see how its arguable. walk me through the rounds he won. he had decent ring generalship in some where it can be aruged he edged them out. but at BEST, 8-4 pacquiao. he was the aggressor. landed more shots. higher pct. i just dont see what bradley did to take the belt
Meh, just depends on how far back you go and which fighters you are talking about. there is people on both sides of the argument who make ridiculous claims. such as 'none of the old school fighters could TOUCH any of the new school fighters' or 'all the golden era boxers would dominate any boxers from today.' i believe both of these claims are untrue.
first, if you go back to the very beginnings of boxing, yes there was a lack of skill because the sport had yet to develop. i believe jack dempsy would not do as well because there wasnt as much technical skill involved in his time. just like the pioneers of mma would get destroyed by todays fighters. on the other hand, when we got to the likes of muhammed ali and such, boxing then had time to develop into more of a science. yeah sure in todays age there may be new supplements/training methods etc, but can any of you deny that muhammed ali would probably beat the breaks off of most fat heavyweights of today? sure the new training methods/supplements may give an edge to modern fighters, but there are other outliers that arent considered. for example, muhammed ali era fighters had less privilege in their day to day life. things werent 'automated' and to be honest, all around their lives were a bit tougher than modern man. in my opinion, this would give mental toughness to the older era fighters. honestly when it comes down to it, boxing is about who is tougher and who can punch harder and get away from punches more efficiently. i think from every era of boxing there was someone who was just a naturally talented fighter and i believe they could replicate success in any era.
also, what is the hypothetical scenario for a matchup? would they both get a modern day training camp, or would you throw them right into a time machine after preparing for an earlier fight? i think given to the time to gameplan for one another, i would still have a lot of old boxers coming out on top of new boxers, but not in every case.
sugar ray leonard vs floyd would be an awesome ****ing fight to see. muhammed ali vs wlad klitschko would be another one. boxing grew out of its adolescence long ago, so there are a lot of undeniably great fighters and we will have to admit that we can never definitively prove which is greatest.
if you make a higher weight class for the K bros, they will have even less a challenge, as most people who would weigh that much would be very overweight. they are very tall therefore their weight evens out.
i think if should be more like when smaller fighters want to fight in higher weight classes; bulk up if you wanna challenge the klits. or use your advantages. mike tyson was frequently outweighed when he fought in the HW division. btw, wlad has lost to smaller guys e.g. ross purity, corrie sanders and lamont brewster. honestly if your not good enough to beat the best then you arent the best. so why would i prefer to watch the lesser fighters over the k's?
and to me, its exciting to see 2 boxers with this much dominance over as long a period as they have sustained. there will be a time when they will retire, and i will miss them
hmm, this was one of the fights where I was impressed with ward's physical prowess because usually bika is the one who is able to be the one roughing you up...
i think ward def. took this one... his punches were far cleaner and he was evading the more wild style of bika. some of you i dont know how you score rounds but it seemed like a close fight in which ward was the clear victor.
1. Floyd Mayweather Jr. (I believe Pac will beat floyd and take this spot, but floyd gets it now based off record and last performance)
2. Manny Pacquiao
3. Sergio Martinez
4. Andre Ward
5. Wlad Klitschko
6. Nonito Donaire
7. Juan Manuel Marquez
8. Cotto
9. Gamboa
10. Vitali Klitschko
Im a Cali boy myself... Im with you man...
His reflexes/reaction time is on the level of mayweathers... but he busts people up in the clinch more...
i dont see him losing for a long time. I called him since his first fight in the tournament... very crisp effective boxer..
his numbers were ****ing ridiculous tonight! sound defense, accurate punching, good ring iq... i dont see any holes
he will destroy bute.
oh come on, everyone is bashing khan for this? dude cant change his mind after watching a fight again? i know that has happened to me before
you really think he was forced to lie? this isnt a big enough deal to make him go out and do that. boxers can have their own opinion and do what they want.
Ortiz did NOTHING to deserve a rematch. You guys act like he did something significant enough to get another shot. hell no, he barely landed any damaging shots, mayweathers right hand was accumulating in his face, he was too quick, too skilled and caught him slipping early in the fight. ortiz is not on the elite level
you dont get a rematch after getting ko'ed in the 4th round lol...
hahah, people are tripping on 3 pounds... 150 would really be so much better? manny is naturally the smaller guy, he started in the ****ing 118 range. i'd say 147 is a fair maxing out for pac
although this fight is pointless. someone who was ko'ed in the 2nd rd doesnt deserve a rematch, but cotto is good maybe he will come back stronger
LOL at yall even THINKING you have a clue how much the fighters REALLY make at the end of it all.
Floyd told Pac he did not deserve 50-50 and turned it down. Why would he then follow that with an offer that (as you claim) is better than 50-50? that would be retarded
this would be one of the biggest fights in history. at least for this generation. pac could very well make over 40 mil, and dont act like you know he wouldnt
All you talking about the exploits need to hang in there and figure it out LOL
So ever since fight night round 2 i have been kind of unbeatable. Rd 3 brought people back to my level once i was figuring out the logistics but once i got it down, theres not a lot of challenges for me.
To the guy who said using kiltschko online is impossible i say LOL because kiltschko is actually my favorite character to use. whatever you said about people coming in to hit your body, can be timed correctly and countered using the length of the kiltschko arms.
I am kind of a wizard at this game, i have only lost once online when i chose ricky hatton and a guy chose pacquaio. must admit pac is a little overpowered in this game, but anyone besides ricky hatton i probably could have still worked it out.
theres advantages for different fighters, and once you figure them out, throw punches smart, keep your distance and counter effectively you can become a force. for me its gotten to the point that i make very little mistakes so i dont leave a lot of room for error. no lie, i have beaten just about everyone online. i get knocked down, but i stay composed after and dont allow myself to get hit anymore. im effective with step, block and lean counters.
