Andre Ward's style is a nightmare for ANYONE. He is the next P4P #1.

I don't think Bute deserved a shot at Ward. They just finished the SS and Bute fought absolutely no one. I thought Bute should've at least beat Froch and another top SMW or fought Cloud at a catchweight they were scheduled to do during the SS. By that time, Ward's hand would've been healed. It doesn't matter now because things took care of themselves. Great post.

Ward is a great boxer and up there in the P4P rankings but I still think he got away with a lot against Kessler.A fight with Pavlik won't do much for him either

Ward can't box. When he fights someone who won't allow him to grab, we will see what he's made of.

Why does Ward seemingly get credit for Froch beating Bute? Ward chose not to fight Bute with some questionable reasoning behind it.

Dude is over hyped, you guys are crazy If you really want to see someone that was over hyped then look no further than Bute.

His ability to fight any style with ease, keep himself composed, the ability to fight on the outside as well as the inside deems himself as the nacho cheese style; he's able to smother his opponent on the inside, cause them to get frustrated, is a switch hitter from orthodox to southpaw. What else more do you want? One thing I realize everyone says he's a boring fighter, but is it his fault he's able to completely neutralize a fighter's offense with his quick reflexes and slippery eel style, or so as Froch himself put it. I may be slightly biased (born and raised in the Bay Area myself) when I'm saying Ward is the next best thing, but his accolades should be enough to convince anyone new to the sport that Ward is the best complete all around fighter in the sport today, period! I still wish Ward took Bute's 0. So do I, but I'm really glad Froch did it. Froch gets no respect, and winning like that in front of his home crowd was amazing. Really funny to see the Bute fans. They said some ludicrous stuff, that I was one of a few telling them was ludicrous at the time. Bute has faster hands, better timing, he's a better counter puncher, his defense is slick, stuff like that.

Some good quotes from this thread :lol1:. Hey!! lol. Hindsight is 20/20, ain't it? At that point, Bute was the only one he hadn't beaten yet. Froch took care of the dirty work, and Ward went on to fight Dawson. Amazing that Ward was #9 last year, and now he's #3. That's a big leap.

If he beats Bute next, he's #1 P4P imo. Beat Bute and move up weight and I will think about it. - FMJ - MP - Donaire - Martinez - Gamboa - Dawson - JMM - Klits are higher on my P4P list than Ward, and he'd need to beat Bute and Direll to leapfrog some of these guys. If he beats Bute, then he should move up a couple spots up the P4P rankings. Ring has him at 9 right now, so he would probably take Wlad's #6 spot if he wins. Ward is a great fighter but I think people are overrating him. Because Froch was never really that good. He's got some nice swooping punches but not even close in terms of speed, defense or athleticism to even match Ward. He looked like an old man in there. Yet I'm certain Lucian Bute can beat Ward. If Dawson don't beat him then it is a great chance he will have a long run just dominating what ever division he choose to fight in as for fighting at home, he is one of the best P4P...now he really doesn't have to leave Oakland if he doesn't want to do so...but Ward is DOMINATING HIS OPPONENTS, not like he is getting hometown Decisions in his back yard...I honestly don't think he lost more then maybe 2-3 Rounds in that Entire Tournament :nonono: This is my point exactly. He's not getting gifts, he's EARNING these wins decisively. People just love to make excuses. But it wouldn't be sports without haters.

I just dont get why people get all pissy about him fighting in Oakland. Has it ever affected one of his fights? Same. I think his is the p4p best. Ppl said he doesn't have power, but he shook Froch a few times in that fight, and Froch has a solid granite chin. His left hook is one of the finest i've seen. He needs to be recognised a bit more on the global scene, but he'll definitely be the next p4p king, if not so already

Can't see anybody beating Ward at 175 or 168, just way too good and he's just 28. He's going to get better as he ages too. What he did against Froch with a broken hand is just crazy. Easily a top 3 P4P fighter. Agreed, I don't think anyone at 168 or 175 can stop him.

Ward is a one off special. Fighters a special as him don't turn up often. There is no one out there that can beat him. Over time it will become clear to everyone just how good he is. I am amazed more people can't see it.
