i agree a bigger promotional company needs to sign him.roman gonzalez needs more exposure hes a beast.the rematch with estrada would be a good fight to showcase him on a HBO .or even showtime can pick him up and put him in with some other flyweight
True. it's a very stacked division. plenty of those dudes can ice him if they don't get out pointed by shiming.im wondering how good zoos chin is since he spent so much time in the amateurs
i got to meet nonito donaire at an open workout here in nyc at gleasons gym in Brooklyn.really nice guy and cool as hell.funny too he was imitating a bunch of famous boxers styles in the ring.he did Floyd, tyson, pacquiao, and a few others.i took a picture with him and he let me hold his two belts
Here. An article about the crowd booing Willie Pep:

holy crap.thanks for this!
Yes, fans did the exact same thing then. Don't be mistaken, boxing fans have always wanted entertainment above all else.
right.
do you think guys like willie pep would be beloved in this day in age ?
100% with you....lower weight are fast, skillfull, the sweet science is really good there.
While heavyweights are slow as **** and end up hugging every 10 seconds past round 5. They rely alot on power too, not skill.
yup very rare you see quick heavies like tyson and ali.thats my fav thing about watchin the lower weights is their speed
seeing em live is hard too.ud have to go to japan or mexico where they are revered
poor guy is hated on so much that even legitimate wins dont count as wins anymore? lol
i like maidana but khan had him rollin all over in pain from a nice body shot and khan was never even knocked down in that fight.
Personally I enjoy watching a tough, strong, skilled brawler/puncher slowly but surely chip away at a technical boxer who is less strong, a little less tough, and likes to operate from the outside.
I love seeing the puncher get closer each round by making a little adjustments as the fight goes on.
Eventually, hurting the boxer.
Then, urgency in the boxer's face and body language.
No way out.
KO.
What say you? All posters welcomed.
like miguel acosta vs brandon rios ?
I believe the first two KO'S came by way of body punchs not being knocked out with a good bomb to the head like Marquez. I truly don't believe he is got a glass chin or even "chinny" but I would be more concerned with his mentality.
Khan on the other hand has a very suspect chin and has been knocked down by punchs I don't think would have put Pac man down.
i was always confused by his first KO.it looks like a body punch in that horrible quality video but the commentators say it was on his chin.
thanks for the reply
People aren't answering because this thread is retarded, packed was ko'd twice as a Manboy ages ago just throug inexperience, and then brutalised by a shot that would have ko'd any welter and light middleweight imo
Khan does the stanky leg everytime he's hit flush even by guys that have next to no power like Diaz, the guy has a glass jaw and his body reacts and his legs go which make him extra glass looking
In previous fights pac has looked almost invincible much like Carl froch he just got hit with tremendous power with his own bodyweight like froch recently
Khan has looked vulnerable whenever he's hit clean
End thread
Khan went down by a heavy handed prescott and the same guy who embarrased "the machine"
everybody else hurt him but didnt destroy him
the best should always fight each other regardless of country or stable or whatever.i would love to see nonito vs mikey Garcia and pac vs amir khan and of course rigo vs gamboa
Rigo and its not even close, just a shame the little puto Donaire wants nothing to do with him.
im a big donaire fan ive met the guy hes mad cool but i gotta agree nonito is shook.he knows what rigo can do. the man is a HIGHLY decorated amateur won nothing but gold everywhere.argueably the greatest amateur bantamweight fighter of all time and one of the best amateur boxers ever.in the pro's hes already getting everyones attention because everyone knows whats up.hes gonna be one of the most feared fighters true story.
I m going to be there with a large cuban flag and a banner saying APOYO CHAKAL DESDE HIALEAH!! hehehehe...looking forward to met some of you or at least to slap a Donaire fan...lol
Oh **** ur from hialeah too? I live up north now but im originally from out there. Def will be at this fight i cant wait
Hes entertaining he fights a lot like naseem hamed.uses the same defense style and does that run in uppercut.hes australian by way of Lebanon.check out his highlights on youtube
I used to train and spar but i never got to compete.i unfortunately moved away and havent found a gym near enough
I used to spar for 3 rounds and man that was exhausting.i was so tired after those few rounds i couldnt understand how pros go for 12.obviously now i know they train a lot harder and for longer than i used to.but i gained a whole lot of respect for fighters.forget the training just the diets alone are tough.
What boxing gave me most was a huge stress releiver.going to the gym helped me out so much in those times where i was full of stress.really the sport kept me sane
Im also reading hands of stone right now.very good so far i recommend it.
Ive also read Beloved Warrior about alexis arguello and Raging Bull about jake lamotta
Its more of a photography book but i just got At The Fights and its awesome.huge book with everyone from refs to managers and promoters and ofcourse fighters in the sport.theres a huge fold out of champions lined up next to each other from minimumweight to heavyweight.pretty cool addition to any boxing fans book collection
I believe that's one of the molina brothers
yup.this is from a documentary about the amateur boxing scene in Cali.it is centered around the brothers javier and oscar.the movie is called born and bred and its available on netflix streaming
I've been looking for that... is still on there?
As to Danny.... people don't think he has class because of his dad... it's his dad that's always speaking
yup its still on there.i always felt this way about danny.but after watching the documentary and seeing him even as a young kid showing love to the winner it really cemented that.
i just went to an amateur show here in jersey called the diamond gloves and i saw even winners acting like dicks.its bad sportsmanship.props to him for being that way still even after becoming champs
a lot of people dont know floyd used to be pretty humble and now..well everyone knows how he acts now
The way I heard it was from himself on TV. He said that he was too young to get a membership card (for some fight club?) and borrowed the card from a friend named Ray Robinson who was already 16. I heard the same story a few times. With public figures it's hard to get the truth, and they often forget it themselves.
according to the book Sweet Thunder thats how its told.the kid was from virginia
Im from Miami and i dont think he would. Maybe just maybe a tiny venue like the casino in Hialeah. But cubans in Miami are more into baseball than anything. Miami isnt exactly a fight town.
I don't think I can help you here, but your username is a massive coincidence since you're passionate about photography. ;) (unless you're that passionate about photography that you named your account after them)
not a coincidence lol.im glad u caught that about my username tho.but yea i love taking photographs
its cool thanks for the reply.i know at first i wont make much.i will prob do amateur shows and work my way up.i would love to one day work for boxing news or the ring magazine.or work for top rank or showtime.hopefully one day i can come out with a photography book with my work.
