This aint no nonsense question... for what you know. what if pac decides to move up HUH!! shit happens not saying he will but what if he did??
first off, this should be in fantasy fight imo. second pac's optimum weight is 130-lbs and i think hatton will kill himself going down to 135. so the possibility of this fight happening is close to nil.
i've noticed that some people here here has a tendency of comparing pac to other boxers, that is obviously bigger, fights or had fought in higher weight class, has more solid boxing legacy, etc. which favor the latter. when a pac "nuthugger" presents his opinion and votes in favor of pac, the haters are quick to attack him and brand the poor guy "idiot".
i think this topic, poll or question whatever you like it clearly favors hatton since most of people here give more weights on size and power. however, let us say hatton naturally weighs 130lbs and this fight as at that weight, i have no doubt that pac wins this one.
oh hell yeah, hope it happens in the philippines too
the only rhing i don't like is how come its still 50-50 between pac and em. tha lst fight was 60-40 in favor of em, i think its just fair to have it 60-40 this time in favor of pac?
what do you think?
anyways, i'm glad to see that pac's team is 100% behind him. better take care of that golden goose, or else...
question. Discuss thanks.
definitely, he is still young at 27 and already considered among the top 3 p4p in the world. he is a two-time world champ and could easily add two more at 126 and 130 if he chooses too. His skills are at par with those of the best pugilists out there, although there is still room for improvement. He is a smart fighter and learns fast. He may not be able to jump 6 or 7 divisions from where he started and may not equal the number of opponents duran beat, but he beat 2 of the top p4p boxers of his generation in a manner no other else would accomplish. technically, he beat jmm too, so one can can make a good argument that he beat 3 of mexico's great of his era.
as far as intangibles are concerned, manny has a heart of a lion, a fearless warrior who fights only the best out there. he can be a champion of any alphabet he chooses, but he rather chase erik at 130. he is an admirable character in and out of the ring. he has the charisma of an ambassador, the love of his countrymen and the adoration of fans around the globe.
:D
i dont know
some people are just like that they pile on the pounds and lose them just as easy
its just there metabolism
maybe there is a die hard hatton fan on here who knows
his training schedule
its not metabolism coz people with good metabolism don't get fat. its hard work.
You guys are really driving me crazy.
I don't want to see Pac kick Morales' ass again.
I don't want to see Pac kick Barrera's ass again.
Dude it's like boring water torture. It never ends.
just ignore it! lol :D. i think janno just wanted to keep us posted.
I wonder why arum keep on insisting a fight at 132 and why shaw and roach goes along the same line WHILE pac keep on saying that there is NO WAY he would fight at 132 because the clause stipulate that the rubber match must happen at 130. Are they confusing us or what?
My only hope is to see another fight of pac and I don't care who his opponent is. If he wins then GOOD. If he loses then also GOOD. What I'm sure of is that he will give us another electrifying performance and it is all that matters!!!
I think pac will fight erik only at 130. his is about principle, respect and honor. arum & erik gave their word, they should be men to stand by it. betraying a pact is cowardice. manny should get the respect he deserves -- and that means arum and eric honoring the word and fight at the terms they agreed upon.
how has pacman been handicapped in his last fights?
first the gloves, and now he wants pac to go up at 132 when he knows that pac wouldn't chase him there. pac even said the reason why he moved to 130 is he knew that he could beat erik even at his natural weight. and now that pac served him the worst defeat in his career, erik thinks he can save face by luring the pac to something the latter would not approve of.
personaly i think this 3rd fight is really lose lose sittuation for pacman. well not lose but he cant win anything. if he beats him ok he beat damage goods that he himself damaged in a previouse fight if he losses then it will be like look he lost to some guy he completely destroid
well i think otherwise. if he wins the rubber match he proves to everybody that he is indeeed the best at 130 and more money fights to follow. if he loses, there is no shame because he lost to a great fighter.
It always turns out ugly when someone mentions Morales, Barrera, and Marquez. Cause all the pacmans jump in and start bashing on em.
so you think these actions are worthy of everybody's praises?
1. mab fighting every one out there except pac.
2. jmm pricing himself out of a pac fight and then decides to fight john for $30k.
3. em not honoring his word and seem to fight only when pac is handicapped.
people will alway look twords the gloves as the reason he lost. i dont think they played a part i think morales when in in the second fight shot and pacman went in there looking his best. if pacman can do that much damage what is another 2 pounds its not like they weighed in at that limit in actuall fight night
you got a point there, but two pounds is still an advantage for erik no matter what coz arum would not ask for it in the first place if it isn't. i think pac can handle erik even at 132 lbs basing on his performance in the second fight.
however i think it isn't the weight that matters to pac but the word of honor erik gave to him. he feels that erik reneging on his promise is a disrespect to him.
i live and grew up in the philippines and there asking for an advantage or "plus" from an opponent is very disgraceful. any match or any contest must be played in equal footing. it should be fair at any rate, or the person who gets an advantage will not get the honor he wants. for filipinos, this is equivalent to cheating.
Exactly!!
What if PAC KTFO Erik again at 132?
What's next. At 133, 134, or maybe 134 1/2. :D
no erik retires for good. who would wanna see a fourth fight when everybody knows that erik was owned by pac?
don't take JMM so lightly, if Hurlex were here he'd kick your ass, or send Johnny Ruiz. JMM is a future all time great, you don't just " dispose " of someone as skilled as JMM
i guess we'll just need to wait and see if he beats pacman. i think he's light years away to be all time great...there are a lot of boxers out there who are far superior than jmm to grab that spot.
2004 was surely a great year for boxing. We saw some excellent fights in the lower divisions The action-packed Barrera-Morales part 3, the thriller fight between Pacman and Marquez were the top candidates for the Fight of the Year award. We also saw the top featherweights Pacman an and Marquez won their tune-up bouts against Fahsan 3K-Battery and Orlando Salido respectively. We also witnessed Barrera's comeback win against the aging Paulie Ayala and Injin Chi's beating of Michael Brodie.
We also saw some big names reduced to pupls this year. Who can forget Shane Mosley's two losses to Winky Wright this year and the two devastating ko of Roy Jones by Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson.
Other notable fights of the year were Vitali's winsagainst Corie Sanders and Danny Williams. Of course there was Tito Trinidad's comeback against Mayorga and Kostya Tsyzu's cementing of his P4P status against Sharmba Mitchell. There were Mayweather's victory over DeMarcus Corley and Oscar Dela Hoya's controversial win against Felix Sturm.
There was the megabuck fight Bernard Hopkins (won) vs DelaHoya, also the battle between Roy Jones' conquerors Tarver and Glen Johnson (won), and Monty Barrett's win over Guinn.
This year a few rising stars also made waves in Miguel Cotto's back to back victory over Lovemore N'Dou and so were Jermain Taylor's victories over Alex Bunema and William Joppy. We also saw Brian Villoria and Ysrael Vazquez winning at least two of their fights this year.
judah fought for 100k against spinks in thier rematch.
he knew what he would do & what it could lead too.
even after a loss judah is getting a shot at p4p fighter, pbf.
jmm should of took the money, fought pac, won. then gone
on to fight the other big names in his division. instead
hes stayed away from pac-morales-barrera who instead have
fought each other, with a few lesser fighters as tune ups.
its not jmm's fault not to have fought mab and el teerible. those guys were the ones ducking him. his fault was pricing himself out of the pac rematch. not not he lost to a virtual unknown chris john of indonesia, he was exposed as an overrated fighter and a one-trick pony!
Too many people are passing harsh judgement on this fight before they've seen it.
The two point deductions sound suspicious.
John very well may have won fair and square, but he may have also had some home cooking.
Calling JMM a fraud should really be reserved for those who've seen this fight.
Have you seen the fight? There were lot of guys who've seen it and they said Chris deserved the win.
But you're right, lets pass the judgement until we see what really happened out there! ;)
On second thought, I think JMM is overrated!
See, there you go.. without the low-blow deductions, you got scores of 116-113, 117-114, 116-115... look, im not saying John didn't win the fight, i just guarentee it was a close one, this tremendous over-bashing of Juan Manuez Marquez is really uncalled for, none of you have seen the fight, and just because he has been taken in the wrong direction managemnt-wise, you crucify him, not his promoters/management... it's so pathetic and i'm again, under the assumption that i'm chatting with a bunch of 12 year olds.. :(
how could you guarantee it was close, you've not even seen the fight!. you people have double standards. if it was pac, he could have been branded a one-trick pony. but since its the fuckin loser jmm, it was a close fight! another classic denial in the making!
It was a lucky draw he earned it what you ment to say, after those knockdowns, pacman got silenced.
yeah he earned it, thanks to that idiot judge who didn't know how to score 3 kds in a rd. i think pacman got a neat boxing lesson from jmm but i don't think its enuff to warrant a p4p spot higher than pac. what jmm and pac have accomplished after their fight just validated my point, and most recently jmm's loss to john. :D
losing to a slow loser named Baldomir=over rated
losing to an undefeated champ is not.
getting a p4p spot for getting a lucky draw against pac is overrated. even some of them puts jmm ahead of pacman. what a joke!
for some genius you know what this means, an automatic p4p spot for chris john! :D :D :D
It was their choice, and yes it was dumb. But to call them jokes, is a reflection on your lack of boxing knowledge.
so you think calling those guys otherwise makes you full of boxing knowledge, huh! what a smart hyphotesis!
yes they were jokes because of what happened. they should've miscalculated this loss and now they look like fools to most people.
pricing yourself out of a 750k fight against an opponent whom you think you beat and accepting a 30k in some jungle on the opposite side of the map and lost in the process, is a big joke to me! If you can't accept it and the fact that others see it that way, its a reflection of your short-mindedness.
Exactly. I have seen Manny outboxed by Marquez and by Morales. Ever seen Floyd outboxed?
Think there is any way a defensive genius like Floyd keeps getting hit with the same telegraphed left hand those other guys did?
Manny is my favourite fighter. Floyd is second. Still, I gotta call 'em as I see 'em. PBF was AWESOME at 130/135.
the jmm and mab fight are from long time ago. pac has improved a lot since then. floyd is an excellent boxer but manny has a good chance of finishing him off in an instant!
did you see the fight?
nope i didn't. but its been my belief that jmm is overrated even if he drew with john.
imagine getting a p4p spot by getting a heck of a lucky draw with pacman. i don't know what you people would call that!
