i hope cotto does come back and out-box this guy...he can be beaten and has been beaten numerous times before...he's really nothing special...too bad no skilled boxers are in the division good enough to beat him.
it's actually pretty pathetic that a fighter like margarito is the welterweight champion...im not a fan of cotto or margarito but at least cotto has boxing skill. margarito is sloppy and looks foolish with anybody who has skill. doesn't he have like 5 losses? and with that being said who has he fought really before cotto? if the no-name boxers can outpoint him imagine what a fighter like mayweather who defines perfection in boxing would do to him. he wouldn't need to knock him out, he'd just make him look foolish.
i agree.
this is why he already has a few losses on his record
this guy weight drains himself to make that 147 limit when he knows he needs to be at 154 or 160, where he'd lose easily. If he really has so much guts then he wouldn't be afraid to move up again...he got outboxed by a guy who isn't the best boxer tonight and still did nothing to outclass him until cotto got wore out. He should thank god he doesn't have a Tommy Hearns, a Sugar Ray Leonard or a Roberto Duran in that class right now becuase they'd all make him look foolish with extreme skill...Margarito is over-rated.
Margarito isn't feared, more like ignored...he's a limited fighter who needs people to stand directly in front of him to look great, any type of movement or quickness/"boxing" throws him off, just like cotto...good but not great, let's be real here.
ok....
I'm a Duran fan...
but let's look at the facts...
he was beatable from 140 and up...
Lenoard chose to fight a brawl type fight with Duran...even tho he knew that wasn't in his best interest, at any given moment he couldn't have decided to switch back to his regular style but chose to brawl with Duran, which gave him his 1st loss...
why Leonard wanted to rush Duran into a re-match is suspect...
nothing could have stopped Duran in their 1st fight...
he peaked in that fight, giving possibly one of his best preformances...
after no mas, he was good, but more of a shadow of the beast he used to be...
i truley belive he didn't get his juice back until he beat Pipino Cuevas in 1983..
at lightweight he was unbeatable, giving the fact that he owned DeJesus in the two re-matches..although DeJesus was arguably his toughest competition in that devision...
duran's career as a whole>>>Leonard's Hagler's and Hearns...
Duran wouldn't have ever been able to beat Hearns...bad matchup from the start...although it would've been an interesting fight @ 147...
Duran @ 29 was in prime condition...
give me a break. NOBODY is afraid of Margarito. He's just ignored becuase anybody who actually boxes him will make him look foolish. Why out-box a slugger for a low pay-day when you can fight guys who actually can box and give you a competitive fight for more money?
let's be realistic..
floyd would spank manny inside of 8 rounds at 130-140 easily.
im not a big fan of him but skill wise nobody can fuck with the guy.
that includes cotto, margarito and whoever else you wanna throw in the bucket.
the stuff he says makes people hate him but really he'd outbox anybody you put in front of him...no reason to fight good but not great sluggers when you're the greatest talent of the era..
