Floyd Mayweather is going to be easy pickings for Manny Pacquiao, the Filipino fighter’s trainer Freddie Roach said Saturday from Los Angeles.
“Easy (fight),” Roach said when asked about what he sees in his crystal ball once Pacquiao and Mayweather finally get it on. “Manny’s going to knock him out.”
Roach kept on saying “easy” during the course of the long-distance interview, sounding supremely confident that Pacquiao would hardly encounter any problem cracking Mayweather, a puzzle that has remained unsolved after over 40 fights the last 14 years.
“He couldn’t move, he’s got no more legs,” Roach observed, citing that Mayweather was no longer as nimble as he used to be.
But to a lot of ringsiders, Mayweather was magnificent in his latest outing – a masterful 12-round unanimous decision victory over Shane Mosley – a win that propelled the trash-talking Detroit native back on top of the pound-for-pound rankings.
Even oddsmakers have installed Mayweather as the favorite against Pacquiao in the event the two premier punchers face off before the year comes to a close.
Sportsbook lists Mayweather as -150, while Pacquiao is +120.
Under this scheme, a $150 bet on Mayweather wins $100, while a $100 bet on Pacquiao wins $120. Still, Roach is convinced there’s no way Mayweather – based on his latest performance –would pose problems for somebody like Pacquiao.
“Manny’s going to hit him from every angle,” said Roach.
Once again, Roach couldn’t help but utter the word that kept on hovering during the conversation.
Anybody else tired of hearting Roach run his mouth?
Im sure some people are. Anyone tired of hearing the Mayweathers run theirs? But, both Roach and the Mayweathers seem able to back it up.
I feel this fight would be the biggest challenge of Floyds career, and the biggest for Paq in a long time, not saying that Paq has ever fought a better fighter than Floyd (he hasnt), but some of Paq's early fights may have been a bigger challenge for him because he was one dimensional until a few years ago. Roach did say last fall when the talk of this fight was rampant that as a trainer Floyd would be the biggest challenge of his career, and it will be. PLEASE LET THIS FIGHT HAPPEN. How long has it been since the top two P4P fighters in the world were in the same damn weight division? They gotta fight.

seriously **** freddy roach lol. If he think its going to be that easy then take the ****ing tests.
Well, he got a split, which is the closest anyone has ever gotten to beating Floyd. And he got that with an old man in ODLH.
Well a win is a win. De La Hoya even said in the 24/7 vs Pac that it wasn't the right game plan for Floyd.
Well he couldn't find out a plan for De La Hoya. This man needs to stop changing his damn mind.

Freddie Roach can talk all the trash he wants. I doubt if this fight will ever occur. I would be willing to bet everything that I own that, if the Nevada State Athletic Commission implements a random drug testing procedure that would apply to a Mayweather/Pac fight (and it looks like they are going to), Pac and Arum will kill the fight by insisting that they will only fight in Texas. This will happen because Pac said he will abide by whatever testing the commission requires.
Roach has said multiple times that Floyd would be a huge challenge and Manny would need to fight the best he ever has in order to win soo....yeah just roach talking out of his ass again.
something was wrong with mosleys stamina otherwise
mosley might have finished him off ...
I think you need to watch the fight again even listen to a top MM hater Larry Merchant say MM not really hurt. the proced to wath MM change up for round 3 on. It's not that shane ran out of gas, he could not stop the beat down. why do I waste my time. Pac doesn't even believe what you thought you saw, hell roach don't even believe it...

I was surprised also. I mean, this guy gassing hard after the 2nd round, which makes me think something went wrong during training camp, he's slacking off, or his age finally got the better of him.
Shane was never a guy who had great stamina anyways but he definitely looked like an old man that night. His only real option is to retire.
well one thing about mosley mayweather
we saw that when mosley attacked in round 2
mayweather could only hold on and wait ...
he wouldnt go toe to toe .... actually he did at one point
and his knees buckled
Either you did not see the fight or you were on something and that's giving the benefit of the dout.
i think mayweather would KO pacquiao to be honest, pacquiao struggled against marquez who is a counter puncher and mayweather is far superior to marquez.
Let's all remember that Freddie was the only expert who predicted Pacquiao to KO Hatton in under 3 rounds.
I don't even think they need a real game plan. Pacquiao simply has more physical abilities than Mayweather.
Physical abilities alone doesn't wins fights, we saw that with Mosley..Skills, styles, and versatility to adapt to what your opponents can do is what wins fights.
look man, stop being a homer. You can say you think Pac will win for whatever reason but I hate it when people say what you just said about Floyd like he's one demensional and has no inside skills. He's been toe to toe alot before WW, he's great at picking off shots, and countering back quick. Stop acting like he will just have no chance at all. Its not all about power. Floyd has mad skill on the inside with great reflexes, tight defense, and stays focused. People said the same exact thing about the Mosley fight. That Floyd will get KO if he fights that way. People still sleep on him.
I dont mind if someone thinks Pac is better of thinks Floyd is overrated but I do mind when people act like he cant ever fight on the inside or anything. He's shown he can more than a few times. He's a well skooled fighter. That doesnt mean Pac wont knock his ass out but dont keep dissin him like he's just a runner who anyone can beat up toe to toe, on the inside, or in the pocket. Thats not the case at all and you know it
That's the thing with the sport today..People look into KO more than the fighters skills. Nowadays if fighters can't knock their opponents out, they're not worthy to be a consider great..I'm tired of it, man.
