Without comparison both cotto and mayweather have great records, but this is my question:After his last fight mayweather was asked what about cotto? and he answered i have nothing else to prove!?!?nothing else to prove !the division still had great fighters who were willing to fight him and cotto was one . How do you solidify a good legacy by retiring when the greatest fighters are there and the people are craving these match ups. the truth is nobody can answer that question but floyd and here we are defending and at each others necks when the reality is he probably ducked cotto cause he knew he was the only one with a chance agianst him . and you'll say tell that to margarito , and i'll say at least he didnt duck him. I rather see a fighter go out like cotto than to punk out like mayweather.
:blackeye:
Didn't really notice, but he was wearing shades for a lot of that episode. His team seem confident the eye will be ok but I suppose they're not exactly medical professionals.
When you get the chance check out when he's posing in the ring . Looks kinda sick Pac disfigured him.:boxing:
well with the magnitude of the Mayweather / Pac fight i wounldnt be surprized if May / Cotto is worth a hundred million or so , Pac / May is probably triple that....
Tito is LOVED man. As soon as he got there people were all over him and when they showed his face on the big screen they would all shout "TITO!! TITO! TITO" and he loves it haha. He stood up and threw a few combos to the crowd. One of the most charismatic and down to earth fighters I have ever met.. TOOK PHOTOS WITH EVERYBODY!! Even told some kids to come down from the upper decks to come take pictures with him and stuff. He made sure everyone could take a pic with him. Really nice.
Yeah Tito is very humble i had the chance to meet him and took pictures with him and my son and he was really cool . Was'nt arrogant nor had an attitude he was loving every bit of it.
Floyd's right will tag Cotto all night long. It's a punch that Cotto is vulnerable to and it happens to be Floyd's best punch.
Neither guy gets hit with left hooks so I can't see that punch being a big factor.
not even to the body?
When was the last time you saw Floyd get hit with a good, solid hook to the body? Oscar landed nothing but grazing shots downstairs. Plus, Floyd's brilliant at countering body punches.
True but if Oscar got to graze I think Cottos got a chance to.
He was a southpaw.....we're talking left hooks here no?
Yo flav by the way do you think thats one of Cotto's gameplans ? I'm objective and realist just want your thoughts on that.
He doesn't switch much anymore and he's not really all that effective doing it. Just because he switches southpaw doesn't mean he has a good straight left....definitely not one that's as good as the Judah of 2006's.

Oh and by the way Judah got in some solid lefts.
If he was sharper as a southpaw it would be a good idea, but he isn't. He wouldn't land anything.
To be honest....and I'm as big of a Cotto fan as there is....but x's and o's wise I really just don't think he has a chance. I don't see what he can do, from a strategic standpoint. Everything he's good at, Floyd's better at. Cotto will find some early success with his jab but eventually Floyd will time it and counter over it with his right hand, completely taking it away. Cotto's right hand, while back, still isn't good enough to land with any regularity against Floyd.
Floyd's length and sense of distance will render Cotto's offense completely ineffective by the mid rounds. I simply don't have the knowledge to come up with an effective gameplan for Floyd....probably why I'm not a trainer.
Heres somthing ive been thinking about Skill May,Speed May,Power I say Cotto . Turn it in to a Brawl!
would it be wrong if i said Floyd has a better left than cotto aswell?
Not really but since its each fighters signiture punch lets stick to the basics....
Exactly, and the point stylistically Cotto doesn't have a chance against Floyd. And, it doesn't matter at what weight they fight in. 147-154 Cotto chance of winning is 0%.
Are you kidding me ? 0% I mean i know Mayweather has the superior boxing skills but boxing is'nt a play its not like the script is written or anything . Anything can happen.
Im not dissing Cotto as a person, but as a fighter, I truly believe his heart is gone. Margarita took it away. Cotto will never be the same fighter mentally. If he gets in thier with Mayweather it will end very badlly for Cotto, maybe even career ending for Cotto. I just dont think he can suffer through another one sided beating like that again.
Wow you talk as if May had knock out power Similar to Mike Tyson GTHO!!
Playing devil's advocate here, how can you prove he didn't know he was cheating? The facts are he was caught attempting to cheat and with no evidence other than his own testimony (which would prove to serve his purpose) you have no evidence suggesting he didn't know what was in his gloves.
Should we forgive him because we think he didn't know what was in his gloves because of his character? And even so isn't it up to a fighter whose career, future paydays and livelihood rests on to make sure everything is in order? I'm not suggesting he was a cheater, but I don't think a victim either since I don't know the facts and he certainly isn't a tragic figure. I'd swap places with him for the amount of money he was paid against Cotto, Cintron and Mosley.
Because he was there when they were wrapping Margs hands and he saw that Margs closed his eyes.
when the organisations stop allowing catchweights, super and light weight and get back to the old school shit. Does boxing really need 14 weight divisions?
true their gonig to have to make new divisions just to keep up.
Cotto's team was no Nazim richardson either.
Cotto does no doubt believe Margo cheated him but he doesnt say it because he is a class dude. There is no doubt that contributed to part of him leaving his dad as his trainer and also Cotto was real upset with Arum for throwing him under the bus and sticking up for Margo.
Cotto just doesnt say anything about it because he cant prove it and he has class.
Cotto did say to Primera Hora PR news paper that in all his years as a professional he never felt anything like what he felt against Margarito . Cotto does think Margarito cheated him the only way to find out is a rematch.
