I love watching Benavidez fight. I think he is new star attraction of the game after that brutal demolition of Zurdo. I love the way he called out Canelo...who must have sh it himself when he did. There is still no way Canelo wants any of that work. Bivol vs Benavidez would be huge! Let's see who has the balls to step up now.
Jake falls down in exhaustion...ref gives him 30 seconds to recover and warns AJ. This was a joke of a circus. The only good moment was when Jake got his jaw broken.
Jake Paul was hoping to get his $92 million without getting hurt. He didn't deserve the $92 million, but did deserve to get his jaw broken. He didn't get hurt as bad as he could have if AJ went full AJ on him. I think he'll retire now. Nobody will buy into his illusion now, and he won't get into the ring with a real boxer ever again.
I’m glad Paul didn't try to KO Mike...it would have made me sick. Tyson gets his 20 million...Paul gets his 40 million, and there both happy. This was never going to be anything other than what it was. That's hard to do at 58 years old.
Roach got robbed by the ref...Davis took a knee in the 9th and stuck his head through the ropes for his corner to assist. WTF is that? Garbage decision.
Even if the ref DID call the knee and start the count, the fighter can't go over to his corner for assistance. Tank would have still have to wait until the round was over before he could wipe his eye. He did it again at the start of the 10th and the ref let him do so. This was pure BS. The ref should be thrown out.
And NY has instant replay. Ref could have saved himself from the mistake by calling for replay. And instant replay official did nothing as well.
The ref was afraid of disturbing the apple cart. Tank tells the ref "I have something in my eye" ref say "OK, but it looked like you took a knee". WTF...he DID take a knee and the ref was supposed to start counting, regardless. No one can decide they need a break and just force a stop in action without paying a price for that. The fight would have been scored a unanimous decision for Roach if the ref did what he was supposed to do, and instead Tank gets away with it and saves his 0.
Just tuned in. Boy, the production quality of this looks like crap. Deserving, I guess, considering Canelo couldn't have found a bigger dud of an opponent to fight in Scull.
Damn...Manny impressed the hell out of me! I never expected him to look 1/2 as good as he did! I almost was afraid to watch it, thinking he would be in horrible shape, but he defied his age. He almost pulled off a major upset...just a touch more energy in the 12th would have sealed it. But still, a draw against a 30-year-old Champion was super impressive at 46 after what was a coming out of retirement fight and just a 2-month training camp. Manny is a true legend!
This may sound easy to say now that it's over, but I thought it would go the way it did. I think the 2 judges who scored it 115-113 were a little generous to Canelo, but that's par for the course in a Canelo fight. Crawford is really something!
Everything gets absorbed through the pours and enters the blood stream not to mention you'd be sitting there inhaling the fumes. I don't believe he's that stupid...at least I hope not.
The scorecards tell the usual tale for Canelo fights...

Kovalev IMO was ahead after 10. Can't argue about the KO...it was the dramatic ending Canelo needed but the decision was decided before the fight was made.
Except Kovalev was not winning.
Absolutely zero effective aggression from Kovalev. Getting backed up by a Middleweight while throwing nothing but flicking jabs. That’s not how you win rounds. Most of you don’t know what to watch for when scoring rounds. Which is why you’re all so puzzled as to why literally every judge usually favors Canelo. It’s easier to give Canelo the rounds because he’s aggressive, throws power punches, and avoids getting hit as much as possible. It’s very simple. But it’s not so simple for many of you. It’s actually sad to watch how clueless most people are about scoring fights.
As Mooshashi said in the post prior to mine...
Dave Moretti's card had Canelo winning the first two rounds; those were rounds were Canelo did absolutely nothing.
Canelo backed up pretty much as often if not more than Kovalev who controlled the distance. Obviously the judges had it closer than you think...but if those first 2 rounds where Canelo did absolutely nothing were scored by Moretti as they should have been for Kovalev (which I doubt even you won't argue) that alone would have changed the scorecards even at the end of 10. Only you seem to think differently and I'm not really swayed by your opinion...you are entitled to it but don't call the entire board stupid for not agreeing with you.
