Pac win over margarito is defintely underrated here in bs.
Pac weighed 148lbs vs Margs 165lbs. 17 M....r F...'n lb difference.
I've seen lightweights and Jr. Welterweights weigh more than 148lbs come fight night
& Pac beat him silly for 12 straight rounds while pulling his punches in the last 2.
It's ridiculous to think that floyd would stop mayweather let alone hurt or even bruise him at all. Marg took Cotto's and pacs shots (head & body)without ever slowing down. *
*Are we forgetting lately that mexican's have a ton of heart. They don't back down and Margarito is a prime example of a mexican's heart.
Mayweather is a potshotter, he rarely throws punches and bunches. The way cotto and pac landed combinations with power and still weren't able to knock marg down tells me marg would eat mayweathers shots like nacho'cheese.
The only way i see mayweather winning is if he uses his feet and if joe cortez were reffing the fight. Otherwise, marg breaks mayweathers defense by pressuring him the same way he did against cotto.
IMO, i thing Sm vs KP would be like MP vs Antonio margarito, with the speedy southpaws winning.
I don't mind seeing pac fight maritinez. it'd be a very interesting match-up. Although of course martinez would have the edge due to size. I see a lot of similarities with both Pac and SM (combination punching, abilty to take a punch, southpaw, etc) thats why i think this could be FOY material imo.
SM def needs to rematch williams btw
I agree, i think the setting was new to him. it being held durring the day time out doors. The sunlight, and the heat could have thrown him off.
* Anyone catch him walking in the ring with no boxing robe on? I thought it was weird, didn't anta make him one?
Really nice video especially with the western audio touch.
There were some shots PAC threw that were so quick that when watching live, thought we're missed shots. Goes to show that PAC is still super fast
Khan is a tough dude. Even getting caught big in some of those exchanges, he chooses to fight fire with fire, and i think that may not be a smart thing to do. He has all the tools to just box circles around the dude, but instead he wants to go out on his shield.
Maybe Khans chin has improved after the presscot fight. He's taken some pretty mean punches from maidana, peterson, and pacman without kissing the canvas and that might add to his confidence in himself to engage those type of exchanges. Might not be smart, but i'm not gonna complain, his fight with maidana and peterson were really entertaining.
Garcia i think isnt in khans level, the dude broke a jaw i think against past prime morales.
i feel, if the mayweather-cotto fight end's up being pretty exciting with mayweather winning, regardless of how many buys it does, then people will be swayed to buy pac-bradley. They will get the impression that both (pac & may) are gonna go all out in their performances just to build up the super fight even more.
I still feel may weather will probably have a lil more ppv buys, just because i'm more hyped about the way maywethaer and golden boy are promoting it and hyping it up. Man, Pacquiao-bradley doesn't even have an official "title", much less any animosity towards eachother.
In the end, i'm still gonna order both ppv because i love both fighters and their opponents. But unless pac starts making jokes about bradley's comet-sized head and not trying to make this like a charity exhibition match, then i see money may outselling pac, and legitimizing may's claim of having the better drawing power.
u don't know me man... boxing fans are fans of boxing, what's up if i root for pinoy boxers. gtfo with that being a nuthugger bullsh. i support boxing regardless fool.
Bottom line. Zhong won. like Larry Merchant, "its the theatere of the unexpected". Didnt expect for cuello to injure himself but that's the game of boxing, you get injured in any form, and you must choose whether to fight on or not. Cuello lost, but i'll give him credit for not quitting. maybe next time..
I wish that were the case. best fight the best. but everything is generated through hype. If you have a wide fan base, you get the shot because you bring the most money. You get the hype cause your marketable. Im not totally correct but its like that.
Rigo i feel needs to create a persona outside the ring or take more risk to make himself more marketable. I see it like this, Mayweather, was formally known as Pretty Boy Floyd for sticking to that hit and don't get hit style; his skill is wat made him known to some people but his "Money" persona of being this Tony montana bad guy catipulted his populairty> Marquez was a pure textbook boxer which didnt not get much recogniction unlike morales and MAB during that time, he change up his style by being more agressive and as a result, has seen his ppv go up.
rigo, is exceptionally talented, but he needs to appeal to the casual fans for him to be relevent.
its not just cubans fans promoters are targeting, its fight fans in general. How are you gonna generate more fans, by reaching a wider demographic, more fans = more money. Rigo needs to crossover from being an amateur (points player) to a pro (entertainmenter).
stop kidding yourself, he still fights like an amateur. he definitely has power and can knock guys out, but man does he take awhile to initiate some kind of action. And when he does, its mostly pot shots and range finder jabs. Boxing purist can appreciate his counter punching style but not to the casual fan.
With his speed, power, and experience, he could be that whole package of offensive and defensive mastery. Man, i wish roach would've gave him more attention before he left as he definietly wouldve helped in his offense.
His style and his quiet personality, i feel, is whats keeping him from being a big draw.
SORRY :
De la Hoya claims Pacquiao beats weight-drained foes :
MANILA, Philippines – Former boxing great Oscar de la Hoya claimed the reason why Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao has been successful in his last fights is that he keeps on beating his opponents through the weighing scale.
De la Hoya, who was forced by Pacquiao to quit after an 8-round beating in 2008, made the claim while pushing again for a third fight between the Filipino boxer and Mexican champion Juan Manuel Marquez.
"For me, Juan Manuel won the first two fights and he's the only one who succeeded in creating problems for Pacquiao, a fighter who has always forced his opponents, including myself, to lose weight and leave everything on the scale," De la Hoya said in Boxing Scene.com.
De la Hoya, who owns majority of Golden Boy Promotions (GBP), claims Pacquiao has always forced his opponents to drop down to uncomfortable weights to make the fights.
In their 2008 fight, De la Hoya worked hard to make the 147-pound limit just to face Pacquiao. This, he claims, was the reason he lost the bout.

who do i believe most?
nacho, who is known to be one of the great trainers of today, and with the reputation to being a straightforwarded, hardcore, say-it-how-is type guy.

or
Oscar, a promoter and a self-admitted liar.
hmmm?:pat:
no. you look at the fact that oscar weighed less than pac and oscar was severely emaciated so much that they had to rehydrate him through IV drip which didnt work. you stupid pactards
were talking about facts now? Is it a fact that Oscar really was injecting fluids because Roach said he noticed IV marks right when they touched gloves before the fight? really? is that proof beyond reasonable doubt?
hmmm...
is amazing how you put so much stock to whatever roach says negatively about pac as oppose to what he says positively about him. stupid flomo.
agreed. ive seen fareneas fight, and this is nothing but a show case of display for gamboa. i expect a 5th round HL reeel k.o. by gamboa. something for casual fans to talk about.
gesta vs vasquez is an interesting fight. i dont see a knockout.but more of a tactical fight with each having their moments.
fortuna and hyde, cant really say. pulling for fortuna but am in the dark with hyde.
i Expect a great fight regardless of outcome.
Pac wins k.o. - Fights money may, or rios, or bradley
if marquez wins k.o. - fights bradley, rios, broner.
I dont care bout ppv buys. does not concern me as a fan. I was not interested in this fight in the begining but now as the fight grows closer, i see both men have trained their hardest and for special reason... it now or never! This fight SHOULD HAVE A DEFINITE WINNER. no more close fights. that is the driving force behind this promotion... that THERE WILL BE NO MORE DOUBT. not a championship fight, but feels that way. bot p4p players trying to end a fued to see who really is the best.
can't f'ing wait.
