Just saw a poster post this and I had to make a thread about it, I just had to.
It should be clear now that Manny was at a weight disadvantage and SEVERELY drained when he fought Marquez. He took him on at Super Feather and by the end of that same year, he was destroying DLH at WW. ..
Does anyone else here have this school of thought? Because a "severely drained" fighter is one that can't pull the trigger, one that is weak, and one that is sluggish. Like, DLH when he fought Manny.
ur saying delahoya was drained coz pacman beat delahoya badly. Pacman also shut out, tko, destroyed Cotto, mosley, clotey, margarito. I guess they were all severely drained too right?
Even nacho beristain said delahoya was fine. Pacquuio was just too fast for him.
They all ate the same spinach balls DLH had in training camp....:boxing:
Manny wasn't drained at 130 in 2008, yet he's supposed to be a full-blown WW 18 months later while his fight night weight hasn't gone up?
Makes sense..
Yep, not only that, but this kills 2 birds in 1 stone because:
1) Pac was drained, but still won.
2) Its evidence against the PED hypothesis because pac hasnt really gained weight so much as he has just stopped cutting and draining himself.
:cool2:

Pacquiao was drained against Hatton now. :lol1:
This is too much. :lol1:
FWIW, to the idiot-convention; Pacquiao was ready to move up from super-feather when he did, but by no means was he dead at 130.
I guess you were absent when they discussed reading comprehension in school
:twak:
YES!! he was drained no doubt...the pics are the only evidence you need...guy had no stomach for crying out loud...even when he went up to 135, David Diaz looked thick and PAC is still showing them cheekbones...but not De La Hoya drained though...that's another type
but that's what these 2 get for trying to pick on smaller fighters and thinking they could take them at their own weight ..HA!!!
I don't believe that for one second. Why fight in a division that you are having a hard time making the weight? I believe that he was sturggling with his stamina because in the 1st fight with Marquez, he was exhausted by the end of the 10th round (those fights are playing on HBO on demand now). Pacquiao looked weight drained when he hit Marquez with that left cross and dropped him? No, he did not. Manny Pacquiao just got his ass kicked. Nothing to do with being drained. I highly doubt he would come into a fight in that state. The fact of the matter is that Manny Pacquiao got his ass whooped and he was looking like the years were starting to take a toll on him. Enter the S&C coach, the move up in weight, and the superman type sh1t that has people thinking that he's on PED's. Not taking the tests did not help him one bit. The accusations may be baseless (according to some), but the response makes this fighter look all the more suspicious.
Look at the weigh in photos, it is obvious to everyone he was drained.
Despite this, pac still won.
I dont know about "severely" - but the photos clearly show he was drained.
Fact that he moved up in weight right afterwards only supports the case.
and just goes to show how impressive that win over jmm was - because he did it against a prime JMM and was weight drained.

ok marquez had one fight at welter lmao and look like crap vs mayweather but now pacroid is fighting him again at welter why not 135 or 140 which manny said he can make easy lmao
Spoken like a true ignoramus.
Pac had 1 fight at lightweight, you know before WW, there's still another weightclass which is jrWW and he skipped that.
JMM had already 3 fights at LW, 1 jrww and 1ww.
Seriously, you should just stick to "marquez is old" argument, at least you have "marquez is already 38" which is a fact.
Though it looked a mismatch to begin with, yes, as it turns out I think it would have been a much more competitive fight at 154. But, as I said, Oscar did it to himself. I'm guessing that Roach calculated that DLH would be severely weight drained at 147 and thus Oscar's desire to win Mexican fans by beating Pac played right into his hands.
It's all speculation, but then that's what we're here for, isn't it?
Though I somewhat agree, we can only say this after the fight. Only the Pactards were giving Manny a chance to win that fight. @147 every knowledgeable boxing fans and experts alike thought it was a mismatch.
Are you implying that the fight with Oscar would have been a fair fight at 154?

mayweather fought him at 154 so what you mean by fair? oscar I think came in at 165
yep. and Mayweather fought thrice in WW division before Oscar, Pac had 1 fight at lightweight. Do the math.
Idiot. Oscar was the one who suggested 147. Manny is not yet a superstar pre Oscar fight.
I'll grant the one exception. Oscar did it to himself, but since Oscar I'm right and you know it.
Also, you shouldn't call names. It just exposes you as the sycophant infant that you are.
Manny (acting on Roach's advice I would imagine) always uses his drawing power as a negotiating hammer to make sure that the opposing fighter is at some kind of weight disadvantage. Is at a weight that is just slightly (or in DLH's case, a little more than slightly lol) uncomfortable. At this level of competition any advantage is huge.

Manny was in no position at the time to dictate anything to DLH. Oscar overestimated himself when he tried to make the weight, not Manny's fault.
Whats ironic is, Oscar was really looking to make a rematch with Floyd, and then started picking a fight with "the flavor of the month" who was a few weight classes below. Then got beaten down.
If it was Floyd, who knows how big a star he would have been?
He actually did dictate to Oscar.
he wasn't in the best shape...he was cutting too much weight. he ballooned to 145 at fight night and looked a little bit sluggish. he still maintain the same fight night weight range (145-148) even now that he's fighting as a welterweight so you can just imagine what he went through to cut down to 130 against jmm the 2nd time.
Not severely drained. But he was definitely not at his best because of the weight cut. And it was well documented before the fight too how hard it was for him to get down to 130. Just look at the weigh in photos, Pac looked like a skeleton.
how about this since it was "well documented" go find a source and bring it back to the table

true this^ i was there too, you're not justin fortune r u??? lol! how's fortune gym going? :439:
but... he was weight drained. its true. pac even had trouble making 135 vs diaz, even straight after the fight he said to roach, he aint killing himself to make 135 no more. :bottle:
Nope I am not Justin but I can tell you this Mannys weight has NEVER been an issue he was never drained going in to any fight..
He may have had trouble shaking off a pound to make the weight but he didnt have to kill himself to get there.
