Mike Tyson blurting out "spinal" is pretty ****in funny.
I heard he also once said "I can sell out Madison Square Garden masturbating," which is pretty great if it's real.
"It's hard to go for a jog at 5 a.m. when you're wearing silk underpants" - jack dempsey
"The bigger they are, the harder they fall" - bob fitzsimmons
"Everyone's got a plan until they've been hit" Joe Louis
funny thread I say ODLH pacman was one of the biggest circuses of all time. This doesn't come close at least both guys will show up to fight ODLH was done the moment the weight was set. Odds should have been 20 to 1. Lol. Not only couldn't he make the weight, he wasn't even close lol. He gained like 1 pound before the fight because he was horribly ill from starving himself. All things considered one of the great performances lol!!!
Ray didn't become welterweight champ till he was 29. I think he was fully grown my friend.
God damnit he's not a ****ing welterweight. I don't care how old he was, he was ripped at middleweight he grew into it.
lol. Regardless of how fatal boxing is, I do want to point out that fighting dehydrated underweight fighters is ****ed up. Comparable to loaded gloves in my opinion, only difference is the other guy agrees to it.
Greb is on pretty much every top ten PFP all time list ever. If you can read his record on boxrec without shitting yourself congratulations.
Did I mention he fought most of his career completely blind in one eye and half blind in the other?
Let me rephrase the question - three quarters blind harry greb vs sugar ray robinson.
It drives me crazy when people say Ray was at his best at welterweight. He was a total freak at welterweight with his height, power, speed, and ability. At middleweight he loses the massive height advantage and is therefore slightly less dominant but he's at his best at middleweight. You can't say a guy peaks before he's fully grown, and ray was fully grown fighting at 1 ****ing 60.
That's the point. Even if a smart 65 pounder could whoop my ass, a heavyweight fighting at 65 pounds wouldn't have a chance. Both these guys are fighting opponents at uncomfortable weights and it makes a huge difference.
this is a great thread and if you don't like it you're an idiot. If I was a champ I'd train hard and fight often. I'd never abstain from women under any circumstances, I wouldn't cut weight and I'd drink beer every day.
If you were a champ you would sign any contract guaranteeing you millions even if that means moving out of your comfort zone. Even that champ on your avatar signed contracts knowing he was out of it. MONEY TALKS
But your not a champ so quit wet dreaming.
I would never fight underweight. Ever. Who wins? I put on a bad show, lose, and the other guy gets no rep for it. I might fight someone bigger or better, like tyson did, but I would never fight underweight.
wow I can't believe the results to this poll. Making big guys come down is way more demented. Kind of funny though as long as you don't pay to watch the fight.
I'm actually laughing right now. He wants to make a comeback to fund a legal challenge that he sold belts because he needed money? That makes no sense whatsoever.
