what Marquez did last night to Katsidas and at his age is absolutely incredible
i don't think he can beat Pacquiao but he's surely earned the right to have a go
Berto deserves the fight based on his name recognition and place within the welterweight division alone. Last I checked Marquez got schooled by Mayweather at 147 so why should anyone need to sit through that again? JMM likes to eat punches and a third fight with Pac would be no different.
yeah but Marquez just proved last night that can still beat quality opponents
his last two wins >>> berto's
berto needs to at least be tested against a Mosley before getting in there with Pacquiao
if warren was froch's promoter he wouldnt be in the super six and he wouldnt be fighting the top guys in his division like he has been.....anyone who is promoted by warren has a padded career...
very true look how he got Amir a title shot after being knocked out by a one dimensional banger
he also kept getting Calzaghe big fights in the UK so he wouldn't have to fly to America to fight guys like Johnson who incidently Froch is fighting next
(speaking about Tyson Fury)Haha.
Loosening Uncle Tommy's last tooth in a car park does not equal quality sparring.
Pavlik is training very hard...at a bar.
 stop man you guys are killing me
Leonard won. Coming back after 3 years, moving up 2 divisions to face arguably the greatest middleweight of all time is truely awesome. The best of the many great wins Leonard had.
if you believe he won the fight yes many don't
on paper his best win probably was Hagler for all the reasons you just said however I believe his win over Hearns in their first fight was his greatest achievement
When has Khan ever been hurt to the body?
You must be using selective memory because Khan takes body shots well, it's Maidana who doesn't seem to take body shots well. His chin is still shaky, except for the Malignaggi fight, he does not react well to clean head shots.
Khan's defense is tight though, Malignaggi, Kotelnik, and Barrera found it Hard to hit him and were only able to catch him clean with a rare counter punch every 2 or 3 rounds. Maidana isn't just some crude puncher, he has good countering ability, but the 3 opponents mentioned are even better and slightly faster and were seldom able to catch him. If Maidana catches Khan with a clean counter, he hurts him, but it'll take more to finish him off.
Khan will find it hard to miss the jab and if he puts some shtos to the body, Maidana will be out of there in 8.
to be fair those opponents you named all have very different styles to maidana
if anything will make khan crumble it will be the pressure and the power of maidana's punches
malignaggi we know isn't a big puncher kotelnik is slow and pretty basic and barrera is a boxer puncher but he was fighting way above his prime weight and his prime days and it ended with a headbutt to boot
Maidana has fought some good fighters on his way up Khan has been matched well
i think khan's skills will be too much for maidana but to say he won't be successfull based off how what happened in the other fights i think is a mistake
valero was a rediculously underrated boxer
go watch him spar top tier guys
he never got hit
urbano antillon just put up a hell of a fight on PPV vs soto
theres footage of valero in '07 or '08 stopping him in sparring
antillon was undefeate3d at the time
and he couldnt TOUCH valero
maidana is a very slight power puncher compared to valero
i'm on the opiion that valero was the one of the most phyisically gifted fighters on the planet when he died in terms of pure god given talent
I think Valero could have been something very special indeed
Wuz up with Diaz breaking fights down? Have seen a couple of his videos...I hope he fights soon...at least a tune up, he deserves a couple actually...been in hard fights for the past couple of years now.
yeah those with campbell and Marquez both times were rough
not too mention has fought katsidas aswell
i think he gave a decent account of himself against Marquez the second time around but I have to wonder if Ronnie Shields is a good trainer for him he seemed to fare better when he had an aggressive pressure style rather than trying to out box people
like for instance in the first fight with Marquez he all but had him out but Marquez and his amazing recuperative powers were able to overcome it but the style he fought him in was what i expected him to execute only better in the second fight
his loss to Paulie was a real low point for him I think even Malignaggi was really good that night
khan vs malinaggi = punch/hold. repeat x100, literally fell asleep.
Abraham vs Froch = Froch beating Abraham up, one sided, yes but it's 100x better than watching Khan say "oof oof oof" like some sort of new born giraffe everytime he throws those pathetic 4 punch combos then clinches immediatly after incase his chin gets touched.
however you want to put it i found Khan's performance better than Froch's for a number of reasons
if Khan beat someone like Abraham everyone would be saying he beat a one dimensional fighter but because it's Froch it's a great performance the level of expectation is of course higher for Khan because we hope he can accomplish great things so we expect abit more from him and perhaps haven't given him the credit he deserves for beating Kotelnik who gave Alexander all he could handle
Froch did put on a great display and I suppose we will have to wait and see how Abraham rebounds from this to show if he was a top notch fighter because right now i have my doubts
not to take anything away from Carl because he boxed his socks off but he was punching a completely stationary target that was the smaller man
Paulie was supposed to be just as quick (i know i didn't believe it either) as Amir but was getting tagged with everything Amir threw and despite Paulie not being world class I have never seen him beat up like that he is usually more elusive but we have seen Abraham beaten in the same manner by Dirrell who actually knocked Abraham down which Froch failed to do

berto vs malignaggi??:nonono:
I like to see Berto fight either Mosley or Pacquiao if not them then a decent welter or Cotto at 154
the winner of khan v maidana against the winner of bradley-alexander
Haye vs Klitschko (either one)
Froch vs Pascal 2 at 175
And i would like to see Antonio Tarver back at the showtime commentators table where he belongs not back in the ring same can be said for Roy Jones Jr at HBO
he's also a clever and sneaky puncher. it tickles me when people say he's a basic club swinging brawler. i hope amir and his team thinks so because they're in for a surprise.
as much as i like Khan and will be supporting him because he's British i have to say
i kind of hope you're right and he gets exposed i hate it when fighters and their camps underestimate opponents
for amir's sake he better not be because i see maidana as more then a crude brawler aswell
i didn't see his last fight i heard it wasn't very impressive but he will surely come into this fight more motivated and if anything i want to see him land something clean on Amir just so we can see how he deals with it because that is the big question maybe the only question going into this fight
Only chance Maidana has is weathering the early storm and taking this to the later rounds where Amir will be a little slower. Maybe he can land a punch then.
i think khan will have success doing what he does best boxing and moving but if maidana can trick him into thinking he can mix it up abit with him then he has a chance
if khan does open up and try and knock maidana out he may also have an opportunity to hit khan with something significant
ortiz is a good boxer aswell and maidana dragged him into his in kind of fight i think khan and roach are too smart for that however amir is a fighter at heart if he gets hurt he is going to have to resort to just fighting and thats what maidana has to do to win i think
Martinez and Quintana are exactly the style of fighters Pacquiao avoids.
what slick counter punching southpaws not too man of them about last time i checked
i think williams needs to serious consider staying at weltewrweight where he can absorb shots better
he's not a big puncher himself either so staying at this weight might not be good for him that being said not everyone he will be facing in the 154 lb division is as good as Martinez
It's very possible you're right.
I hope not cuz I love watching Pwill's fights, he has an exciting style.
Lennox came back after getting knocked out like that
Lennox was never knocked out like that
the Mcall one he made it to his feet ref could have let him continue if he had any sense
Rahman caught Lewis with a lucky punch and his chin was never granite either
that knock out last night was just as brutal as Hattons but Hatton was faded and Paul isn't which may make a difference when he attempts to come back from this
that was a glen johnson roy jones style knock out that p will took last night
i don't think a rematch is needed
Martinez should have been awarded the first fight and now he said he would knock out Williams and he has
Williams needs to realize him and Sergio are a class apart
go back down to 147 where he will probably be able to take a punch better and go from there
I think Max was interviewing Williams in shock so it made it seem bad. I don't think Max had recovered from what happened lol
i agree
what more was there to be say at that point either williams got ktfo
