It seems we no longer do this, it is very tough, seems same fighters will be on most people's list, but in what order...I don't know here my list:
1. Jermaine Taylor
2. Manny Pacquiao
3. Bernard Hopkins
4. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
5. Ricky Hatton
6. Joe Calzaghe
7. Juan Manuel Marquez
8. Wladimir Klitschko
9. Ronald "Winky" Wright
10. Paul Williams and Shane Mosley
Hopkins, #3? Who has he beaten? Decisevly. No one. Paying off the judges to eek out wins with people he should "execute", then go to the cards for a win. thats not a P4P in my book. The rest is pretty good though.
Not by clinching. But I bet he can counter Hattons attacks by running like a little bitch like he always does. Jr cannot hang with Hatton going toe to toe. He would get :owned:
Do you think it has anything to do with all these bullshit score card discrepancies, hometown favorite wins, no decision rigged judges? At least in MMA and UFC you know who the winner is. Can you say that about the sweet science? How many fight have you seen go the distance and have the judges be so lopsided in boxing that they fighter you saw win actually looses the decision. Boxing commissions are crap! No legitamacy or accountability. I actually like both, but I see how MMA could ride this wave of rigged judges to their benefit.
yes, yes it is. He said he was going to. Hell, he said he was going to be more convincing a fighter this time. Guess he is convinced he is a loser now. At least Taylor can talk the talk, AND walk the walk. :bottle:
I am not denying that B-Hop looked better, cause he did. He showed true champ form, ability and ring savy. But it was too little too late. I think if he decides to rematch he will lose that by decision too. Watching with the volume down, i can see JT winning again. He did to much work early. He was rocked a bit in the championship rounds. But just cause your the champ dont mean your entitled to anything! :bottle:
Taylor head got banged up fron head buts, but did swell a little over theeye from punches. He wont get his career ended by B-Hop, Prolly win again. :boxing:
am a hopkins supporter, sorry, did not want to see him lose. But he got lit up for 5 of the 1st 6 rounds. End of story. All the posts on here agree with that. Read them. Hell evryone here seems to think that all you need to do is hang around till the 10th - 12 rds, win those, and with your past championship history walk out with the Belt. I see your one of those too.
Like I said before, you can outland a guy 4,5 to 1 in the last 3-4 rounds, but if you lose the first rounds to that point, moot. You still loose cause you started to late, bad fight plan.
Well, if you look at it that way tito.....once a champ, as long as you can go the distance, you never lose? WTF? 10 years dont mean crap! Are you so biased that you would pre judge a fight based on past history? C'mon, he lost early. Not denying he would have cleaned the floor up with him if he started earlier. He didnt. Guess what? HE LOST! 10 yrs, 20 defenses, wooptedo. He did not look like it tonight did he. Can you honestly say, he looked like the icon you have built him up to be? Not tonight. And I like BH. He just lost.
You guys ever wonder why Bernard Hopkins got started so late? Do you think it's because he knows himself well enough to know that his old bones can't go at a fast pace for more than 4-5 rounds?
If he got started in the 6th round, maybe he would have ran out of gas by the 10th.
He figured he would get started late so by then, Taylor would tire himself a little. It would be pointless to go toe to toe with a younger kid only to tire yourself out in later rounds.
Just speculation.
I wanted Taylor to win & was gonna crap my pants when Hopkins started turning it on.
Dont agree with that at all. Those old bones can go at it for 12 rounds. He has fought the same identical fight plan for 10 yrs. Someone else finally watched his past fights and piled up the points on him while he was starting slow. Turned the tables on BH a bit.
If you think BH needs a gift decision, you automatically just said he got beat, and needed intervention to gaurantee a win. SO basically, you just said, he got beat by JT and woulda won only if the judges helped him. Not by himself? HMMMMMM,
I agree dueski....he waited to long. A round sooner, BH would have won the split, or had a knock down sealing it for him. Oh well, watch for the rematch.
What fight were you watching? Are you high......he got his butt kickicked in the first 5 rounds. And then won the last few. You need to dominate, not just show up.
Yes Jinx, that is his style, I know, hold hit, jab from outside, feel him out a few rounds, and then KO, good night Oscar. But that was not the case here. Taylor did his homework, got rocked a few times, but won enough early to carry the fight.
BH ALWAYS comes on late. Always. He also usually gives away the first few rounds. But Taylor was a little beeter tonight.....watch for the rematch........
well, they both know each other now. JT knows what it will take to withstand BH, and BH knows when JT will be coming....I predict......JT by decision in the rematch........Anyone wanna take the bet early?
