I will say I was going for Hop, I was being a nuthugger and pulling for him, I thought he had it.
He underestimated his opposition tonight I think, I think he might have thought he could score a late KO, Taylor showed up and showed he can go the distance, it was close I had it for B-Hop(Bias of course).
I guess Hopkins also thought this fight would be a breeze, I think Hopkings thought he had it in the bag, I thought he had it. They should have givin him the fuckin desicion, let the man go out on a win after his supreme reign at middle weight. They seem to hand out that shit now-a-days.
But anyway, I am glad he took this and lost a desision rather than see him get KO'ed by Tarver.
I agree 100% BH had a lot of juice left. Hell he dint start fighting till the 8th round. Ithink he woulda been worn out too if he fought as much as JT did. :D
He did go the distance. So i guess your saying he is not a real champ now or what?
He didn't deny that he went late, he is just saying he had no juice while hopkins still did.
The fact of the matter is a lot of you seem to think that winning the 11th and 12th rounds is more important than winning the 1st and 2nd rounds, but in reality, it is not.
The rounds are not weighted to give an advantage to the guy who wins the late rounds. On a scorecard, the first round counts just as much as the last round.
yes they are worth the same... but usually the refs see those rounds as significant rounds... ITS NOT ME... i dont see it that way. It's the refs. I obviously thought that Tito got whooped... but he got the decision because those later rounds are significant... and Oscar learned that the hard way.
but they are called Championship rounds for a reason.. u cant expect to win the first 7 and cruise the rest of the way... I'm in the old school of thought of where... if you're in the boxing ring you're trying to inflict damage on the opponent... not WIN rounds...
Rounds / Scorecards / Decisions should be after the fact of trying to hurt each other. Now the 1st round is worth the same as the 12th round in POINTS but not in significance...
The fact is in the later rounds Jermain had no juice in the tank. A real champion can go the distance. That's just the point I'm trying to make.
If you think BH needs a gift decision, you automatically just said he got beat, and needed intervention to gaurantee a win. SO basically, you just said, he got beat by JT and woulda won only if the judges helped him. Not by himself? HMMMMMM,
I don't know how I can respond to this. Lets see. Do I think B-hop should get a gift decision, well I like b-hop, so it would be a biased staement.
I always want to see him win, the fight was just so close it could have gone either way, and I think it should have went to Hopkins.

NOBODY DESERVES A GIFT DECISION! Do you realise what you just said? If he would have lost all 12 rounds.....instead of the7 he did, would you still agree he should have won because he is a 10 yr champ? When does it end? 15 yrs....25yrs, hell as long as he doesnt go down he always wins?
Well, if you look at it that way tito.....once a champ, as long as you can go the distance, you never lose? WTF? 10 years dont mean crap! Are you so biased that you would pre judge a fight based on past history? C'mon, he lost early. Not denying he would have cleaned the floor up with him if he started earlier. He didnt. Guess what? HE LOST! 10 yrs, 20 defenses, wooptedo. He did not look like it tonight did he. Can you honestly say, he looked like the icon you have built him up to be? Not tonight. And I like BH. He just lost.
I didn't mean it as in a if you can go the distance only, he started slow, how many fuckin boxers do that and still pull it off, Hopkins won, yes I am biased, I admit it.

Champs are not entitled to anything...got to earn it and keep it, not rest on your laurels. Thats what pissed me off about Oscar. Fight all 12 rounds.
Thats true, but after 10 years if anyone deserves a fuckin gift dicision its not mosleys', or titos', or oscars' its fuckin BHOP.
I also think Hopkins probably thought that the "KID" wasnt doing anything special to TAKE the title away.. So Hopkins fought in a non-chalant manner in the beginning... I mean if you're a judge you have to give this fight a draw... because you dont just erase a decade of domination AND give the undisputed middleweight championship to someone who cant sprint to the finish line...
Other than starting late nobody is talking about B-Hop's technical mistakes... because he hardly made any...
AMEN. Couldn't have said it better.

It is really simple, you can not win a boxing match which is scored on a round by round basis by dancing around for the majority of the rounds unless you knock your opponent down.
Hopkins did not do that.
And I wouldn't be so confident that Hopkins would win a rematch. I doubt Taylor would be near as nervous/hyped up in a rematch as he was tonight.
It's funny that a TITO fan would say that...
If it's scored on a round by round basis then how the hell did TITO win against Oscar? because clearly he won enough rounds... CLEARLY
Here's your answer: The SAD fact of the matter is the rounds are not scored just on a round by round basis. For example a majority of the judges don't give a 10-7 round because they think that it'll be too great a lead for the other guy to COME BACK... with that in mind the judges ... if they see a close fight they score it close so that in the end whoever does better in the later rounds.. they can give the fight to the person who won the championship rounds... And i dont think Taylor won the 12th... i mean yes i think he definately won enough rounds to win...
But the fact of the matter is the scoring isnt done on a round by round basis its done by judges who have differing opinions / human biases.
IM READY FOR THE REMATCH!!!
SLUG FEST!
SLUG FEST!....
You guys are all missing the really big mistake that Hopkins made in the fight,
He DIDN'T WEAR HIS MASK TO THE RING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for yelling but I knew when I saw that it was trouble!
OMG, its funny you said that, I was thinking this morning, Hopkins has to wear that mask. You are right!!! Oh it so sad to see such a great fighter go out on such a stupid descision.
