I remember how nobody respected Paulie before the cotto fight..
As his career progressed, he gained more respect from the boxing public..
He markets himself well and for a kid that didnt graduate, hes hella articulate..
Hes a great commentator as well as a good boxer..
Hes always a live underdog..
If he had power he'd wouldve beaten broner..
You're right on the money with this. Like floyd, he doesn't wow most people with his fighting style but man does he have the gift of gab and he used that to market himsef perfectly. I always forget that he didn't graduate HS.. You could never tell by hearing him talk. When it comes to interviews Paulie and Angel Garcia are the most entertaining to listen to.

I really like spence. He delt with an awkward style and was constantly on the attack and just got caught a few times. So much up side for him and I know he'll continue to get better.

I've been wondering for a while how Floyd would do as a commentator. He has one of the highest Ring IQs in the sport, so I would think he'd do well.
I don't think he would do well simply cause he never does a good job at analyzing what he does to break down his opponent. His answers in all his interviews are always so vague: "we worked hard and followed the game plan" "it was all about hard work & dedication".. He never gives any interesting insight on anything.

commentator: So Floyd what do you think about his first loss?
Floyd: "ummmm hes a true champion, hungry lion, ummmm hes a good fiter, he'll come back from this loss, its funny how people wanna ride your wave when you win, ummm TMT promotions"
lmao that pretty much sums it up

I'd rather watch Floyd/Maidana than Floyd/Guerrero. At least with Maidana there's the slim prospect of a home run shot. Guerrero was never going to knock out Floyd or outbox him. How much did Guerrero get for that fight to be a sparring partner?
Great point.

Gary Russell Jr is listed on the Golden Boy Promotions website as one of their fighters.
He may be.. but the fighters I named are not. Some are shocked that Golden Boy put Arnett in there with Gomez so early in his career but Gomez is the only one of the two that's a GB fighter so GB got the outcome they wanted.. at least for that matchup.

Spence isn't GBP either?
WTF?
Are any of the 2012 Olympians that fight on FS1 with GBP?
Nope.. Rau'shee Warren is also not a GB fighter.. Check the GB website and none of there names are on there.
Haymon has been signing a lot of young talent to his stable without any promotional ties to Golden Boy (errol spence, daquan arnett, basically entire 2012 olympic team, etc.).. None of these guys are Golden Boy fighters.
Need more videos like this Profiling Up and Coming Fighters
Love Quillin's Passion!
I agree.. check this vid out on another up and coming prospect I found it pretty interesting youtube.com/watch?v=pZ_wtS3JIEU
thanks for posting man that was a pretty cool vid that kid seems like he lived one rough life. pretty raw fighter but seems like he has a ton of power.
Kid Chocolate vs. Golovkin would be an amazing fight.
Yup, he's off to a great start so hopefully his power will continue to be effective as he faces better comp. And yes that Kid Chocolate vs. Golovkin fight would be action packed! I would love to see it
i hope one of those times is against manny !
It's always very difficult to pay attention to what you post due to those amazing mya pics in your signature.. all i gotta say is WOW! :notworthy
I have my doubts as well, but Oscar is about as good a source on the matter as that dude with the big forehead who hangs around with Broner.
Oscar only gets a call from the office when they want him to pick new curtain patterns.
lmao too damn funny!

to me this is MMA & casual boxing fan talk. Its like if you arent a face 1st brawler then the fight sucks. If thats the case then dont wach the sport. I appreciate all styles. I can go crazy with a Pac & Rios fight, then the next week I can appreciate Floyd mastering the sweet science
well said bro! I appreciate it all!

Paulie earned respect years ago in my eyes. And it's ridiculous for some people to criticize him, and I even read that someone said he should have chosen another career. That's just ridiculous. The man is a two weight world champion. How can anyone tell him he should have done something else? Look at the success he's had. The fact that Paulie has done what he's done with hardly any power is incredible. Him and his opponent know that he's outgunned, and he still pulls it off. He's smart, crafty, skilled and as tough as they come. Man if he had power, he'd be at the top.
Well said! With paulies inability to knock people out he's still accomplished so much and i respect that. Not to mention he's tough as nails. I'm glad he's still around and I look forward to watching him partake in another mega fight after this great win.

I can see that.. but as long as Paulie is getting "haymon" money for being a stepping stone then i doubt paulie himself would object to that plan.

I was falling asleep too but it sure as hell wasn't Rigo's fault.

Yea, I mean the shell is supposed to counter the right hand perfectly, not leave you exposed to it.
Maidana was throwing a lot of looping overhand rights right over Broners shoulder. Is the overhand right possibly the best punch to penetrate the philly shell?

Ya, Maidana didn't just dominate last night, but showed more skill doing it. He wa clearly the more skilled fighter last night. His awkwardness makes it even harder for a robot fighter like Broner.
Exactly! if I had predicted him to win it would of never been like that. The way he out skilled broner totally shocked me.

TMT is not a promotional company. TMT is like a crew or group of friends. I think you mean Mayweather promotions.
From what I understood TMT is a clothing line, Mayweather Promotions is the promotional company.
