I agree with what Wlad says here. I think one more good fight with a Heavyweight and he will be ready to challenge Wlad.
(Young, Big, skilled) If he fights an opponent that has 2 of these 3 qualities it will be a good prep fight for him. Dimentrenko is young and big, Adamek is young and skilled, Vitali is big and skilled. Any one of those 3 opponents would be awesome right now.
Thing is, he said it two years ago mate - hence why Wlad has now taken to releasing films to let everyone know how furious he is :D. We're a good way down the road now...
I've a lot of respect for Cyclists. Actually, Boxing and Cycling have a lot in common, these guys have to give more than in pretty much any other sport. The physical and mental demands are just massive.
It's funny, but Peter Sagan, the guy that pinched the podium girl's arse is a new superstar of Cycling. It's not like this is some bum trying to get headlines, he is a once in a generation talent, a hell of a bike rider. He's just a bit crazy! The race on Sunday was one of the biggest races in Cycling, the tour of Flanders. It's a massive bike race. The boxing equivalent of this story would be someone like Andre Ward losing his unbeaten record to Bernard Hopkins, and whilst Max Kellerman is interviewing BHOP, Ward is stood next to him groping a ringcard girl whilst looking into the camera with a big grin on his face. It's funny sh*t.
Anyway, the downside of this is it has created a bit of a sh*tstorm and there's been cries for Podium girls to be scrapped. Loads of f*cking boring bastards who are probably dead on the inside trying to inflict their boring lives on everybody else. Trying to drag everyone down to their dull f*cking level. I hate those cunts. It's to Boxing and Cycling's credit that they appreciate that anyone with something vaguely resembling a pulse, likes to look at pretty girls, and it really isn't doing any harm. Long may it stay this way.
Hatton has just replied to this on twitter...
well, he said exactly the same on twitter a few days before his comeback was officially announced so I wouldn't take that as gospel.
Why Trafford ? Maybe Khan doesn't want to fight Ricky in his favourite place in the world. Maybe Trafford is the obvious neutral ground between a City fan and a Bolton fan. Or more likely it's just quite a bit bigger meaning more money.
LOL won't there be a race riot in Manchester if that fight happens?
nah, most people won't give a sh*t. Ricky is hugely popular in Manchester, amongst blues and reds. People forget that a lot of Hatton's fans are also United fans. Mathew Hatton is a United fan. Boxing is all about the fighter, it transcends things like footballing rivalries.
THIS ^^^^^
I see a bias in those rankings.
Why is Wladimir Klitschko not champion at HW?
Why is Haye above Povetkin and Pulev? He's won only ONE fight in the past several years, against a boxer who had three losses in his past four fights.
The rankings are NOT better than The Ring rankings. It's just the same old biased bullsh1t.
I think you'll find the bias is between your ears. Did you not read the OP ? If you did you will know why he isn't the champion. It's quite clear to all but the biggest retards.
Here you go as you clearly didn't have the courtesy to read the article before you commented:
"Common sense tells us that a division’s true crown can only be seized by combat between the two best in a singular ring before a singular world. The third, fourth, and fifth-ranked contenders neither belong nor fit in that ring."
As for Haye being above Sasha and Pulev. Well, I'm sure they have their own reasons, but maybe it's simply because a blind man can tell Haye is several levels above either. You've only got to visit YOUR own thread http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=568382from the last few days to see that Haye is ranked no.3 by the majority of Boxing fans, so it should be little surprise to you that the TBRB agree.
Degale will never recover from how he acted inthe build up to the Groves fight. Horrible personallity, not a very nice guy. Thats the difference. He can box but he's a piece of **** of a guy. Fact. Bullying sh*thead, hope Froch gets him before Eybank Jn
That's a little bit over the top. Although I agree he was a massive bellend in the lead up to the Groves fight and he must never do that again if he wants to be taken seriously by anything more than a minority of boxing fans. I have met James and he is a surprisingly good bloke (and I say that as a big Groves fan), he needs to just be himself and let his Boxing ability do the talking. Whoever it was that encouraged him to act that way before the Groves fight should probably be sacked, he lacks the intelligence, wits and charisma to play the Floyd Mayweather/Prince Naseem card.
James must be one of the most talented boxers in the sport, he can still be popular if he stops acting like a dick.
Prince naseem had intelligence, wit and charisma? could have fooled me.
sorry, I mistyped that. I meant to say 'or' rather than 'and'. I wasn't implying he had all three, just saying you need to have one of those to get away with saying the sort of sh*t Degale was spouting before the Groves fight. Hamed was boorish and arrogant but he got away with it because he had that glint in his eye, he had natural charisma.
David Haye is another example. He has said some shocking things about gang rapes and executions, way worse than anything Degale has said. Hell, he's f*cking glassed a dude and still got away with it. That is charisma at work. David Haye can be a charming man when necessary, whereas James Degale has all the charm of a mass grave.
Ultimately though, there's a 4th and very important factor here, that Haye and Hamed actually achieved stuff in the ring. Degale hasn't done dick yet, so he just comes across as a total gobsh*te.
I'm glad James is talking about changing his attitude. He's such a talented boxer he really doesn't need to do all that sh*t. A lot of people think he's a c*ck so he's got his work cut out becoming a fan favourite, but a string of good performances on channel 5 will go a long way to rectifying that, providing he stops acting like a complete arse.
This would be an excellent choice for Khan. Virgil Hunter & Adam Booth are the two that I think can help Amir at this point. If either of them are prepared to take him on, then he should jump at the chance.
I don't find either boring tbh
Wladimir was extremely defensive against Haye? He was the one pressing the action! Hard to be exciting against a guy on his bicycle not willing to engage and falling to canvas every 2 seconds.
David Haye - ''I promise Wladimir will be in an exciting fight for once''
''This will be explosive''
etc etc
That is certainly part of the story, but there were numerous times in the fight when Haye was stood right in front of Wlad with his hands down, daring Wlad to throw something big. Wlad seemed very reluctant to do so. I think rightly a wrongly a lot of fans would expect a man with such a height, reach and weight advantage to club the sh*t out of someone who is doing that, and Wlad's unwillingness to engage on the occasions where Haye was in front of him like that kind of sums up why many fans find him boring. I don't necessarily agree with this view, but I can see where people are coming from.
In answer to the OP, I don't find anything boring about Vitali, he has been a tremendous fan-friendly heavyweight over the years.
Ortiz's worst nightmare. Prime Ricky was an animal.
In answer to the OP, Hatton made Kostya Tszyu quit. That's all you need to know to answer the question.
I'm shocked at the amount of people who think Froch is going to get stopped. If there is one fighter in the world that looks almost impossible to stop it's Froch. Sure, we've seen him stunned, and we've seen him dropped but he's never even looked remotely close to being stopped. I fancy Bute to take this fight, but I just can't imagine any scenarion where Carl can't complete the full 12 rounds.
It's a pretty pointless debate. Whatever the reason for the fight not happening, until they actually do fight then neither can be considered king, and no amount of nuthugging is going to change that. I don't see a ring belt in either man's collection. Although, it is a shame this fight isn't happening at 140, as Manny is technically still the lineal champ after beating Hatton. A Bradley victory over Manny at 140 wouldn't get him the ring belt, but it would secure his place as the 'man that beat the man', and therefore unquestionably the top dog in the division. Unfortunately that sh*t isn't happening, so until the day comes that Khan and Bradley get it on, there ain't no 'king' at 140.
Jermain Taylor knocked him down twice.
Once, and he got up with no problems at all. I agree Bute is a tough fight for Froch, I fancy Bute to take this one, but talk of Froch being stopped is going too far. He must be one of the toughest guys in the entire sport.
I like Eddie Hearn, I think he has been a breath of fresh air for British Boxing, but that interview is utter bullsh*te. He, like his dad, needs to shut the f*ck up.
do you live in a cave or something?
I live in Britain, and I'll say it again, I cannot recollect any occasion when Haye has had anything to say about Chisora. Feel free to Jog my memory though if I'm so hopelessly out of touch.
Why is Haye continually talking about Chisora?
I think that might be a product of your mind. I don't recall him ever talking about Chisora. This is the first interview he's given since the brawl and I'm pretty sure he hadn't given him a second thought before then. Why would he ?
And the comments section of the Sun has to be the lamest guide to public opinion possible. It's hardly a rationally minded cross section of society.
And Haye needs to grow a pair. He ducked Huck on many occasions as a cruiser.
I've heard it all now. Huck couldn't even beat Steve Cunningham back then. Haye would have f*cked him up.
I thought it was a great interview. The guy wants to come straight back and challenge Bute for his IBF belt, when he could easily make very good money fighting B level fighters in England now that he is with Matchroom and Sky. Whats not to love about him ? He's exactly what we want as Boxing fans.
I think he is pretty clear in that video that he believes Ward is in a different league to anyone else in the Division. You can debate whether he was outclassed by Ward, but I think you would be hard pressed to call it a 'whooping' or a 'total beating'. It was certainly neither of those.
I've always liked Haye, but I was very disappointed in the lame excuses after his last defeat. That, to me, was much more embarrassing than anything that happened on Saturday night. Quite honestly, with the exception of the 'tripod moment' I think he handled the situation almost perfectly. I found it very impressive the way he dealt with Chisora and his team.
