That's why I probably wouldn't get it either. I have the digital plan(hd/dvr, and then a whole bunch or other stations, showtime, and hbo), and high speed internet through them and I pay 140 damn dollars and that's on a one year specialty plan! Every year they try to hike it up and I b1tch and they bring me down but still, 140 dollars is a lot of money. One year the plan expired and they fuking wanted to charge me like 260 dollars, I nearly sh1t a brick.
YOu are getting jobbed my friend. I pay 112$ and I have HD Show HBO and internet
Time warner baby haha
but I dont think I get Epix either : (
It looks unlikely that Ward will fight on Showtime any time soon, he's HBO bound. Also, even if that was their reasoning, why wouldn't they offer Bute a one fight extension, or buy the fight as a one off?
not sure why they did not do that but that was the reasoning going around when they first signed the fight.
Froch has a ****e following as well, along with many of the other reasons this fight hasn't taken place. He rode off Calzaghes name for too long, too late in his career and while he is an aggressive fighter with an entertaining style he isn't good enough.
Hbo reason
bute is a showtime boxer he has one more fight with showtime hbo will not show his fights so he can go back to showtime and make them more money.
Showtime reason
showtime want to show bute last fight with the network with the winner of the super six not the guy that came in second place
This right here.............
Showtime has Lucian Bute under a 3 fight contract. Bute only has one fight left under that contract so Showtime wants Bute to fight Ward. Otherwise HBO will snatch up the fight and all the money Showtime invested on Bute and Ward will go to waste. Not taking Bute vs Froch is a smart move.
This. Although Showtime could negotiate another contract.

it sucks for us fans but thats the reason they are not showing it
Not good enough, I hope Epix ends HBO and Showtime's dominance in American boxing broadcasts.
Showtime more to blame than HBO, who is in charge there? I need to know who that idiot is.
never said it was a good reason but thats the reason they are not showing the fight.
not to many cable companys have epix

It's a premium channel. The problem with EPIX is it isn't carried by all cable providers. For example, arguably the biggest cable company, Comcast, doesn't have it. I have Comcast so even if I wanted it, I can't get it.
Thanks for the info, I have Comcast and sucks that they don't have Epix, this is a great fight to watch, especially if nothing else is on.
I wasn't surprised at hbo, but showtime usually doesn't pass on fights this important. Showtime has made it a habit of stiff matchmaking & quality fights while hbo takes a superstar & feeds them loads of stiffs & lots of hype.
the whole reason showtime signed butewas for him to fight the winner of the super six the fact that bute has one more fight with showtime they want him to fight the ward not froch thats why they passed on this fight.
im not saying it right

No, seems Green has no blind devoted fans
Boxing is a world sport with great boxers from all parts of the globe and great fights taking place all over the world now as well.
And that trend is only going to grow.
The American networks better get use to it or die out and kill off Boxing as a main stream sport in America.
read my post
that's gratitude for ya. even though Ward was my favourite, Froch carried the tourney in my opinion. Showtime should be rolling out the phucking red carpet for this fight.
That's a damn good point. The two best fights involved Froch.
American networks are insane!!
One of the biggest fights in boxing...

i'm pretty damn american and i've never heard of it outside of this site.
if you think network boxing over here you're talking about hbo and showtime
i dont even really know what it is and would have to do some research
is it a cable network?
a premium channel like HBO and showtime?
I think it's like one of those Fox sports networks, you have to get a sports package to pick it up.
