I'm betting with my heart on Mayorga, I can't ever go against him. That's my country man!!!!!!!!!!
Viva Nicaragua jueputa!
Anyway, I think if everything goes as planned, Shane should win a comfy UD. I wouldn't be shocked if Mayorga stops him early, str8 up.
Ideay...como que va ganar y despues que va perder...
This a must win for Mayorga, lets not forget Shane against Forrest (twice), and yes Mayo isn't Forrest but he did beat him (twice)...so this should be an interesting match up and the odds shouldn't be so far off, but we shall see.
Mayorga will test Shane's heart, the same heart that gave way to Forrest.... Mayo wins this one.
Nothing new here, UFC and PRIDE have devasting KOs... some peeps are into it some aren't, I'm thinking it takes more cojones to get in the octogon though
LoL...looks like a pus..hover, but if beat Spinks he must be a slick boxer, I wonder if Popa Juhda will help Mayorga in anything...
Yo Xcaret...have you been to X-caret in Cancun?
Hatton needs to give Zoo a rematch...hell Zoo went to his own backyard bring it to Vegas and do it again I bet Zoo brings in more $$ than Maussa...but if he decides to fight Maussa I will root for the William Hung of Boxing!!
why u say that?^^^^^
Maybe because he hasn't done much outside of the UK, and tested his abilites against the likes of PBF, COTTO...maybe his work rate would be his downfall with a counter puncher...
Is that Naz in your avatar?
That would the rematch aka 2nd fight when Roy got Knocked Out...
As for the up comming fight, if we see a glimpse of the Roy Jones of the past he should out box Tarver...I see Tarver trying to knock him out with one punch and hes gonna be loading up for that money punch that may never land...Roy has to box him like he has so many others in the past..
Hopefully Roy Jones can shut up Tarver :D , Jones trash talk doesn't bug me as much as Tarvers does.. :boxing:
As undisciplined and wild brawler that Mayorga is...you can't deny he has heart, he showed it in the Tito fight. Very few boxers would have got off their stool after the end of round 5 and not to mention keep getting up after the body shots in the 8th.
Arguello is Vice President of Managua (the capital of Nicaragua)...as for the missing story thats a year old it happend AUG of '04 and it turned out that he took some vacation time ala Dave Chappele without telling anyone. He doesn't like Mayorga all that much..
How is Castillo going to have the advantage when he had to weigh in again at 3pm to make 147lbs to avoid getting finded even more? Corrales was heavier...if anything corales had the advantage...he didn't have anything to lose..and he got KTFO!
It seems like your a PacMan fan...but this being the Opinion Central, I thought I would add my 2 cents in...
J.Marquez set the blue print on how to beat Paquiao, counter punching is the key. He hasn't won a round (in convincing fasion) since that first round with J.Marquez where he punished him.
Morales just followed the same game plan and outboxed the slugger. For Paquio to be successfull again against any elite fighter with the know how to counter him, he must stop bieng one dementional, it was not his mentallty it was unablity to over come the counter punching.
I don't think anyone in the 147-154 range can compare to Tito's Power, even if the had a one shot miracle...he proved to take that flush. He will probably walk through Garcia, and hopefully call out Vargas and Castellejo for a belt.
Ruiz is of Puerto Rican decent. Who cares what color they are? They are all weak, the only legit Heavy Weight right now is Viatli, and even he seems robotic at times. We need another Tyson to getting things more exciting the HW division is falling down the drain.
i don't get you dudes who say mayo would kill, or for that matter beat vargas. there is NO WAY and i'd put up my brothers house (and if this fight comes off w/ vargas an underdog, you better believe i am) that this indio mayorga w/ his sloppy ass barbaric fighting style could beat vargas. c'mon, vargas would eat him up in the press-conferences - in my mind, probably take mayo's heart and then systematically whoop that ass and PROBABLY stop mayorga late. if mayo doesn't fight at 147 he's not beating anyone elite - okay - MARKETABLY elite. but NO WAY would he beat vargas, no way in hell.
he's exciting kids - but not a world beater. vargas EASY UD - or possible late KO.
Indio...street, Vargas has done nothing for what like five years, he has had three fights with unknown fighters and hasn't looked impressive in any of those fights. I respect that he had to put some work in..but the man is rusty and got shock up a few times on sat.
Eat him up in the press conference? What are you talking about, if you can understand spanish then you know Mayo is a talker. Vargas is gonna talk eat him up? After or before Vargas is crying on camera or with HBO interviews LOL.
Your brothers house? Your riding Vargas from the 90s, he has shown nothing in the last few years...he should keep fighting 36 year olds he wants no part of Mayo. Mayo would walk through whatever he throws and connect to that glass jaw of his and its lights out ala DLH/TITO style...DLH has no power and he KTFO out of Vargas.
Who promotes Vargas? Is this fight even a possiblity?
From what we were able to see Espino won the fight..but all we get is edited Hollywood stuff (still watching). How was Manfredo 21-0...I think he is wide open for anyone with some power to test that chin out.
Anyhow.. the West is still kicking ass :D
I wish Vargas would get upset...this is a live underdog, and not to mention we haven't seen Vargas beat top competion in over five years... but if he wins then I would to see him get retired by Mayorga! :boxing:
Castellejo is getting 1Million if he fights Vargas but with no belt. He is probabbly looking for the easy money vs Vargas...but these cats get smoked by Mayo anyway..
So if Castellejo gets stripped...who gets the belt? Mayorga is the #1 contender according to them...that means he gets the interm belt? Even as a Mayo fan...He doesn't desever the belt..maybe we will see Santos and Mayo now that Santos is with DKP, or SIMMS.
well i know a few of them arent even real middleweights, for example ishe smith fought a lot of his fights at 150 pounds. i think ishe could do something at juniour middle especially now that winky wright is gone. the only real contenders at that weight are santos and ouma.
LOL @ Santos...what is he gonna do? Mayorga would KO him especially if he decides to trade toe to toe like he did with Margarito. Ouma would a good matchup but now that he signed with Golden Boy Prodcutions I don't think we will see Mayo/Ouma anytime soon.
As for who would be a good match up with Strum. Alfonso Gomez, he has got those nice body shots that he would unload on Strum, seeing that strum likes to have a high defense and all...but Gomez should go down in weight not 160, he could do some things dowin in 140, 147 with that chin and heart of his.
Ishe and Gomez are probably the names that will emerge from the rest of the bunch, Manfredo needs to work on his stamina if he wants to do anything in the future.
El Famoso has balls and a huge heart...but stopping Chavez's punches with his forehead wont cut it, Chavez by UD...not by KO cause Hernandez is a tough guy to KO.
My heart is with Hernandez...but my Money is on Chavez.
Let me quickly lay down the law. De La Hoya and Mayorga will never fight, the bout makes no sense for De La Hoya as De La Hoya has maybe a handful of bouts left in his career, and Mayorga is no longer a top flight fighter.
And one thing that has continued to bother me is the bias I see alot here. At 147, Mayorga was a threat and a serious fighter. At 154+, he is a catcher with little pop to his shot. Just because he can take a great shot and has balls of steel, doesn't make him a great fighter. Damn, was the Trinidad fight that long ago?
I think the fact that he may have the best chin @ 154, and still should have some power in his punches combined with his "cojones" makes him a force to be reckoned with in that division. And your right it will never happen...but not because of what you said but more so because DLH has one more fight with ARUM(sort of he gets first dibs) and Mayo is a King fighter. DLH is not out looking for the best fights..he fought STRUM thinking it would be an easy belt at Middle Weight, not because it was a known name but rather a belt in another weight class. He will fight a no body in sept..his excuse to get a feel for the wieght class. (thats my 2 cents)
LoL at however said that DLH can knock out Mayo. DLH is just like Vargas right now talking about the 150s but walking around in that "I am a pillbury dough boy" look @ 190. DLH has done nothing as of late compared to what he used to be..STRUM? Hopkins? By the same token Mayo hasn't done jack either but he did show something DLH hasn't show in a long time HEART. HE was getting his arse kicked and kept getting up unlike mr. golden boy and his "acting". ALthough it would be an exciting fight, Mayorga is too much risk for DLH he wont go near him....not to mention that a fight between these two would be a Arum/King marriage and that never happens unless you got TITO and HOya in there..
I think the next in line would be Michele Piccirillo ....isn't that the guy Spinks beat? Anybody know what style he fights with and how he would match up with Mayo?
My question is if Castellejo gets stripped who gets the belt? Since Mayo is the WBC next chanellenger then does he get it?
I am a Mayo fan, but I don't want see him get it like that..and I agree he doesn't deserve the shot hes getting. So make it some kinda of toruney with OMUA, Santos, Castellejo, Mayo, Vargas, Simms...ect ect
