Man stop it! This dude is actin like de la hoya now. Everybody has a gameplan to beat Floyd, once the bell ring they lose every round. Ricky, you're saying you don't know what Floyd would do if he had to fight coning foward? You must not have watched the Canelo fight, where all he did was walk foward against a more dangerous fighter than Amir. On a lighter note, I hate this fight cu this dude does not deserve it, but Iget SHO is paying the bills and are pushing for it because khan will bring in the most $ out of any other fighter left on Floyd hit list, except pac man ofcourse
Khan is top tier whichever way you look at it.. Styles make fights..
Khan beat Malignaggi better than both Broner and Cotto did.
He beat Kotelnik better than Alexander did.
Beat Judah better than Mayweather and Garcia did.
Beat an old Barrera better than Pacquiao did.. But Barrera was old.
Khan is as good an opponent as anyone else at 147 for Mayweather.
Floyd is a level above everyone else, no matter who you put in there with him at around that weight division he will always be seen as a huge favorite.
Couldn't agree more.
All mayweather pre fights sound the same..he's never been in the ring with someone as big as big..he's never been in the ring with someone as rough as me..he's never been in a fight with a fighter with my speed. Bell rings, same old outcome. Floyd is a master at adjusting to any type of fighter. He will dominate no chin Khan. Might even knock him out
why the fuq would cherrypicker fight at 140?
Is khan just making stuff up?
Floyd hasn't fought below 147 in a very long time. I doubt he asked him to fight at 140 or at a CW below 147
BJS is a very skilled fighter that is finally taking training seriously like he should have been doing 5 years ago.
Once he beats Lemi tonight, his resume will have Eubank Jr, Andy Lee, David Lemieux and Willie Monroe jr on it and he's still only 28 years old compared to GGG being 35.
Only reason he beat Lee was because he had a round with 2 knockdowns, which helped him barely escape with the victory. He got outboxed most of that fight by another average fighter. Monroe is not even top 15 at 160. Eubanks was a good victory, but the Eubanks now would EASILY BEAT SAUNDERS.
but, that is simply not correct at all
don't know how you can say that to be honest
David Lemieux, is the epitome of average
he is " just " a puncher..... nothing more
he is bread-n-butter for a good fighter, which Saunders is
hopefully BJS proves that tonight, which I think he will
Saunders has above average skill and enough power to keep Lemmy honest, which should do the trick
if you bet a dollar on Lemieux then you are way braver than I am
if Lemmy wins it will be a huge upset, and Saunders will be done at the top level
You were so right. Saunders proved his worth today. I was 200% Wrong. Good call
Foreman absolutely destroys Tyson IMO. All subjective though
true, All subjective, But a young, hungry, in his prime Tyson was seemed unbeatable. He was relentless and had KO power literally in every punch he threw. I think RJjr and Tyson were the two most skilled fighters to ever box at their prime.
Tyson in his prime was the best boxer to EVER lace them up and step in the ring. Fast, elusive, Ko power both hands. I'd take Tyson in his prime over any HW ever, including Ali, foreman and anyone else.
DAZN wants to put on the biggest show and mainly target the US market. They surely will hire a promoter who has experience with booking shows in the US and knows how to promote to the US market. Oh, wait....
The only thing that kills me about the situation is Paulie being so naive to think that McG's Camp and himself didn't have some type of ulterior motive by inviting him to their Camp.
Regardless of whether you think he lied about the Push/Knockdown imho is irrelevant. If I would have watched 36 minutes of McG destroying Paulie I wouldn't have anything to say on the matter, but this was two clips from certain angles less than 25 seconds combined showing what Paulie has already conceded in every interview that Conor got the best of him in 11 and 12.
Here is what I took from the slow motion video of the knockdown clip. I clearly saw McG's left hand cup Paulie behind the head/neck area and land a right uppercut then he went down. In a real boxing match, I guarantee you not every single Referee would call it a legit knockdown, the better refs would have seen that first and not called it. Just like Cortez.
I disagree. There was fist flying with no body contact or feet tangling together. While the impact of Connor punches weren't solid, he clearly connected. Deft would get called a knockdown
Why don't just televised this shiet for everyone to see? usually sparring details are left in the gym, but this camp is totally different. I guess that's what you get when you put Cortez, Paulie and Connor in the same camp tho.
Because then no one would be dumb enough to buy the fight...
you're underestimating peoples stupidity level. If you show UFC fans footage of Paulie beating up Connor, they'd just say it's a ploy by Connor and his team to get Floyd over confident. The buys would prolly increase.
This is just Oscar selling the fight he knows this guy is no threat I bet if Ward was the 168 champ they would never make this move unless it was a 300 million dollar fight
Of course they wouldn't fave ward. Fighters at 168 wouldn't face ward lol. But the fact canelo is already a small middleweight, facing one of the bigger super middleweights, and just coming off a war with GGG a few months ago, this is indeed a tough fight. Size and weight difference will be huge. With all that being said, canelo should still win, but it has the making of a tough fight
I honestly think Khan would whoop Broner. He could stay on the outside and just blister him with his hand speed all the while Broner would just keep shaking his head. Broner doesn't know how to punch with his opponent so I could see it being a 12-0 type of fight for Amir
When have you seen Khan just stay on the outside and box?...lol Exactly, never. If Khan would fight like that with his tools, he'd be the best welterweight in the world. But the fact is Khan likes to mix it up and that ALWAYS gets him in trouble.
Not saying he won't whoop broner, but deft not a 12-0 fight. It'll have fun rounds when broner will get the better of him
That's why this fight would be good cause Khan isn't in the top echelon of 147 :lol1:
Lol true, but he still might be a lil too much for him at 147. Maybe Khan can get down to 144 Like Vargas Did? That would be much better for broner
De La Hoya doesn't have any top super middleweight on his books, unless I'm mistaken. Anyway, I think Oscar was a better boxer than Canelo is, except with Canelo's chin being even better, and body punches
I'm assuming he thinks Zurdo Ramirez, who he just signed, has a good chance of matching up with Canelo...I don't see it tho.
Er, no he's not signed anything which is the precise point Hearn is making?
Hopefully all will go smoothly from here, but there's not much trust apparent between the two camps and it seems the four week delay in responding to this latest matchroom offer may have further exacerbated this distrust.
That and the wba mandatory which they've had to prepare in case no agreement was reached.
Dude, did you miss wilder yesterday when he said he signed matchroom offer to go fight in the UK. 95% of a deal of this magnitude is the purse split. Now that this is no longer a concern, everything should be smooth sailing. If not, there's only one party to blame.
The Welterweight division is Better with Khan in the mix .
Id favor him to beat Pac if they were to fight . Plus he'd give most the Top guys at WW a tough night.
Pac can still crack and khan has a very suspect chin. I could see pac by KO simply because it doesn't take much with khan
From the Pacquiao-Broner PPV till this proposed date in March, you have two months to build the event.
With Top Rank not having a PPV fight to stage, DAZN still not having wide adoption, at least 6 PBC-affiliated fight dates to talk up the fight after Pacquiao-Broner, and the extra shoulder programming for FOX, Spence-Garcia should do just fine.
Its not the promotion aspect that worries me, its the the fans pockets that does. While some fans are in a financial situation where they have no issues paying for 3 PPV fights in 4 month span, i assure you some are not. They will pick 2, or maybe just 1 of the fight to pay for. This will undoubtedly have an affect on all 3 fights
