the only thing i feel pretty certain about is that ortiz will be way more competitive than anyone who has fought floyd in the past 5 years... i mean c'mon, Carlos Baldomir, De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley... i think Ortiz easily beats them all
lols... margo thought he was rjj in there
yeah, i wasn't too sure what to think of his performance while i was whatching cuz it was like night and day compared to the margo of old, but looking back, he showed some serious improvement!!.. his one big flaw was that he got hit easily, well not tonight or any night if he fights like that
LMFAO WHAT! DID YOU SAY? BETTER THAN ALI? "Hes back bitches!!!" 1st off margarito is garbage/cheater 2nd you better be glad you said that on the net and not in front of me, because you would of got the beating of your life. you don't know shit about boxing and just stop commenting and watching boxing all together. can't believe what you said that....Jesus Christ whats wrong with this world.......I'm at a lost of words
You my friend are a fukin dumb ass!!!!.... he was joking, so was i in my topic, and also, i'm not gonna say that margo is back on top, but he definately showed improvement, even if it was against a nobody, but geeze, at least he literally clowned the guy for ten rnds, and you cant whoop shit bitch!!!!
LMAO!!! Everyone look at TysonTko hes a stupid bitch that doesnt know what sarcasm is!!!!! Bootleggking just owned him too LOL!... And i wish u were in front of me u ****in cock sucker!! U cant whoop what u cant hit.. i would move to slick and fast like Margarito Lmao!!!!!
lol... i can't get over how stupid this TysonTko is..... and he talks about us supporting a cheater when tyson bit a mans ear off in the ring!!!!... along with beating his wife, and wanting to kick children in the nuts so they can feel his pain!!!
perez and marez are both great fighters... but i think that marez undoubtably won the first two and the last four rnds... and several others were close.... so mathematically, a draw doesnt make sense.... marez won, the look on his face when they announced the draw made me want to drink a cold one for him!!! lol
Yeah bro,If i remember correctly cuello was stalking chavez jr in there fight. In this fight alvarez was stalking cuello.Alvarez has a hell of a hook
and a nice uppercut.Alvarez should face mathew hatton or alfonso gomez.
yeah, chavez jr. looks like he has improved dramatically since he fought cuello but its hard to imagine chavez being able to do what alvarez did even with his new found conditioning and trainer (roach and ariza)
what i'm saying is, he fights LIKE a slugger, but with no real one punch knockout power. he beats guys by wearing them down. all of his knockdowns tonight were because acosta had no conditioning and had no balance.
i have no boxing knowledge?
you are an ignorant dumb a$$ idiot!.. I cant stand people like you who hate a certain fighter and when that fighter proves them wrong you still find negetive $hit to say! Thats Ignorance!.. Not boxing knowledge!
There is alot of talking comming out of the Marg camp. We will see about that in 14 days.
95% of the the talking has actually been coming out of the pacman camp... team margarito is just finally starting to reply..... which i think is great and makes for a better climax!
it's hard to praise margarito with all the controversy surrounding him... but i aggree 100%... when he fights.. he's gonna give it his all or get knocked the **** out in the process!!! but u have to many people the will argue this by saying things like..... "i guess health shouldn't be of concern?" or "getting a beating is something we should praise".... everyone has there opinion in boxing and that's why fans argue so damn much in this sport!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... I LOVE IT!!!
Who the hell had Cotto ranked #2 p4p at any point? He was never up that high, thus Marg didn't climb that high when he beat him. JMM's win over Casa vaulted him past Joe C, and was more impressive than Joe's win over Jones so he stayed there. And all this was happenin while PBF was retired. So how does Pac not deserve the #1 spot homey?
dude... cotto was considered number 2 on most p4p lists... u have to remember that there is no "official" p4p list.. but on 8 out of 10 cotto was always number two after he beat mosley... don't try to flip it.. and answer the question... who fought the better oppenent since mayweather retired?

pacs last four fights were against barrera, marquez, diaz, and de la hoya.. Niether of them were even ranked in the p4p lists at the time they fought except for marquez and he was ranked around number 6 or 7 or so. Barrera was just a name the second time around and Diaz was the least credible of all the lightweight champions and de la hoya is just a name with huge marketing capabilities. To be the best u have to beat the people considered the best at the time u fight them. when has pacman done that recently with any fighter lately? remember that i said someone who is considered the best at the time.. not the best along time ago?
So, are you saying that Pacman has to fight Ivan Calderon, Joe Calzaghe, Bernard Hopkins, Antonio Margarito and Vic Darchinyan to be P4P's best? Your brains are wire differently, that's why boxing pundits created this mythical P4P list, because not all boxers are of the same weight.
Your argument is too shallow to say the least...
pacquiao is a great fighter... and i was impressed with the way he was able to dominate de la hoya.. I just think that when i fighter gets the type of spot light and superstar status such as pacquiao they tend to not have to fight the best anymore and still be considered the best.. back when he fought barrera and morales and marquez the first time around that was some real respectable shit!.. he continues to improve but all i'm saying is that his competition is declining.. and it's not like there's not serious compitition out there.. but he chooses to go for the bigger money fights which is probably the same that i would do if i were him. but my point is that there is big fights that he can take with much more of a challenge.. any other lightweight champ besides diaz (casamayor at the time, cambell,), juan guzman (fatty)LOL, humberto soto, JMM (a third fight would be awsome), juan diaz, edwin valero (unproven but young and hungry and champ at the time and incredible knockout against bums maybe but still). I'm just saying that everyone knows that these were all better challenges than his recent fights in the past two years or so. Barrera a second time(old and coming off a loss to marquez), david diaz(fought for vacant title never beat champ), jorge solis(who?), de la hoya (old and washed up and he was even the smaller man the night of the fight so there was no size advantage), marquez (much respect to pacman for this victory). it's like u reach superstar status and no longer have to prove urself. Ur just the best cuz that's the way it is and u know longer have to prove it cuz u beat the best in the past and victories over anyone will hold u in that position. But i know that i'm slicing my own throat by saying stuff like this cuz i'm definately out numbered but whatever. A victory over Mayweather would without a doubt make manny the best though.
Why the hell would anything change unless Pac gets beat?
did u read my post? does pac really deserve the number 1 spot? Cotto was number two and margarito knocked him out and calzaghe was behind him (in most p4p lists) and he beat jones (which was badly faded just like de la hoya) and JMM was usually ranked one slot behind Pacquiao and he beat Casamayor who came off a huge win over katsidis? So who fought the highest caliber of opponent out of these guys?
Pac was #1 p4p way before his win over DLH. PBF passed that moniker on to Pac when he quit. And at this point, Pac's takin on all comers>PBF's dodgin WW challengers and he likely woulda surpassed him anyway.
but before cotto lost to margarito he was number 2... No doubt about that! so why wasn't margarito made number 2 or 1 after that?
pac was #1 p4p before he koed delahoya... and and mayweather shouldnt even be ranked because he retired from the sport. maybe you can rank his legacy to all the other retired boxers.
i know he's retired but the question is if he returns
Why the hell would anything change unless Pac gets beat?
well no one ever beat mayweather and the only thing that manny did to get his p4p title is beat de la hoya which mayweather did to a much bigger and one year younger de la hoya? so why shouldn't he be placed back to number 1? i'm not arguing cuz i'm not even a mayweather fan but i'm just trying to make a point.. so what u think about that?
This poll is stupid. Its like the head I win tails you lose coin flip.
Martinez is Good and Paul Williams is Good.
not its not..... by saying that martinez is really good ur not saying that paul williams sucked..... it was a close fight so if u say that martinez is really good then obviously paul williams is also really good.... chill out!
Martinez is good but last night it was Williams screwing up really. First mistake, trying to KO martinez in the first round, in turn he too got a taste of the canvas. Second mistake: WHAT DEFENSE!? He defended with his face all night. His hands and arms cause the impression he really has no accurate control where he puts them, like he's trying to coordinate his arms with a remote control running out of batteries. Third mistake: YOU ARE SLOW. Yes i've said it, Paul Williams looked slow tonight. Much like in the Quintana first fight, all Martinez had to do was the show him the shoulder and Williams couldn't land half the punches. Horrible horrible fight by Williams.
He's a dumb ass, he's abusing his body going up and down in weight and believe me, it will take something out of him. Greed will be the end of P.Williams sad to say. It's easier to develop a fking personality and talk shit than screwing your body like that to get fights! That will mess with the chemistry balance of your body and Roy Jones you ultimately.
so do u think that williams just made to many mistakes last night and would capitalize and make adjustments in a rematch or it would be a repeat of what we saw last night????
Martinez is a great fighter, much better than a B fighter. One of the conditioned athletes in the sport, good chin, and the hardest style to fight against in the sport. Look through the history of the sport South paws are so difficult to handle and a slick one like Martinez is double the trouble. This was a great win by Williams.
well said.... what was ur score card.... or what would it have been if u were scoring it???
Is it honorable to call Cazeres a Mexican Warrior when he CAN'T keep up and beat up a much smaller and puny boxer like Calderon???
This is my answer to another stupidass thread. IronBoy is too freaking small and has no power or what-so-ever. He relies in pure speed and boxing instict to win. I'll bet there is no single person with Calderon body size and weight that will have the balls to step in the ring with Hugo Cazeres. No matter what you may think, reality is that Hugo did not have what it takes to win agaisnt a much smaller opponent. Cazeres has been schooled twice, give it a rest. Cazeres should be ashamed, embarrased, should hang up his gloves and leave Mexico. I can't wait to see him going up in weight and wins some matches like Margarito did. Oops!!! Sorry, I forgot Margarito is another boxer afraid to go up in weight. Ok, like ODLH then... Oops... I forgot that he fought PBF, wanted to fight Hatton, but decided Pacquiao is the bigger fighter. I guess the Mexican Warrior Thing just apply when facing smaller opponents. Long story short, Hugo Cazeres is not even half a Mexican Warrior....
The truth is that he was simply has the style to beat cazares... Even though I don't like his style u got a good point about him having to fight like that since he is so small... What bothers me is the fact that he says he wants to unify belts but doesn't mention Sosa or solis who r very good technical boxer/punchers and not wild sluggers but he calls out the other guy with the belt... Shit I can't even think of the guys name right now, but the guys is a nobody with a belt..
The fight was certianly close. He has having problems with Glenns movement primarily and quite a few people on here though Glenn deserved the decision.
well to be honest with u.. I think the only people who actually thought he won were the phillipene fans.. And well.. U know how that goes... But don't think solis blew him out or anything but he clearly I just don't think it was close enough for people to argue that glen won.. Plus glen is much bigger than solis and calderon is way smaller!! But he did beat cazares with the size disadvantage... But my point is that this is definately the best fight to occur at 108 don't u think?
Not sure about Sosa haven't seen enough of him. I don't think Solis could do it, he had trouble with Glenn Donaire who is a slick, fast counter puncher. Admitedly he has more power than Calderon but he has the skills to beat Solis.
good argument.. But I don't think solis had any problem with glen donaire... Well not until the cuts occurred from the head buts cuz he did have slight problems after that but nothing major
amir khan is not an elite fighter!!!!!.. I honestly think sucks. He might have a successful future(I doubt it) but at the moment he's not even ready to take on a good b-class fighter. If he avenges his loss very convincingly then I might see things a little different. If he is confident in himself then he'll take an immediate rematch, if he doesn't then that speaks for itself!
Casamayor would counter Diaz's wild punches all night!.. Completely lopsided UD for casamayor or late knock out. Casamayor is way too skilled for Diaz.
he probably faced the worst possible fighter he could - prescotts not a top ten lightweight but his style didnt work for khan
khan would have more chance against manny paquiao than he would against prescott - coz as good as manny is hes not a knockout artist, he usually outclases people on boxing skill and wears you down
i think khan will learn a lot from this fight with prescott
theres a lot of good fighters at 135pnds who khan would beat
1 - david diaz
2 - yuri romanov
3 - michael katsidis
true story
some people will find it hard to believe after a bad defeat to an unknown colombian - but this is how things work
First of all, at this point in khans career, he doesn't have a chance in hell to beat the pacman, marquez, Campbell, Diaz, or guzman(fatty). By the time he's ready(if he ever is ready),it'll be four years from now and all these guys, except for maybe juan Diaz, will be retired. I do agree with u that he'll beat yuri, and david Diaz. (maybe).... But I still don't think he'll beat katsidis
