there r some people who think that khans knockout was a fluke, just a lucky punch that can happen to anyone. Others say that khan was finally exposed as a protected British fighter with no real talent to fight on a high level. It seems clear to me what happened but I'd like to know what u guys think. Everyone vote on the poll so we can figure this mess out
It isn't luck when Khan has been dropped by crap punchers.
true. It's undeniable that he has a glass jaw. The real question is whether he'll ever tighten up on his defense enough to compete even with the B-class fighters
Khan charged in against an unkown puncher - stupid!
Prescott from the short time i seen him looked the buisness, im expecting good things from him but i cant say for sure after less than a minuites viewing!
Khan for his part has it all except a half decent chin! Fighters with Khan like talent and a shit chin have made it before so i aint gonna write him off yet but i can see him getting Crushed again before his career is out!
You're only saying that because of the Diaz fight. Diaz has a chin of steel compared to Khan. Pac would knock Khan down with a straight left very easily, Khan hasn't seen that type of speed especially from the southpaw stance.
Also, Katsidis would destroy Khan quite easily. Katsidis throws powerful wide hooks that are easy to defend if you fight from a shell like Juan Diaz, but can crush a glass-jawed fighter with no defense like Khan.
I agree. Khan might have a bright FUTURE(maybe). But isn't it a joke how his fans think that he can actually be competitive with PAC or anyother elite lightweight out there!..
khan would have more chance against manny paquiao than he would against prescott - coz as good as manny is hes not a knockout artist, he usually outclases people on boxing skill and wears you down

he probably faced the worst possible fighter he could - prescotts not a top ten lightweight but his style didnt work for khan

i think khan will learn a lot from this fight with prescott
theres a lot of good fighters at 135pnds who khan would beat
1 - david diaz
2 - yuri romanov
3 - michael katsidis
true story
some people will find it hard to believe after a bad defeat to an unknown colombian - but this is how things work
First of all, at this point in khans career, he doesn't have a chance in hell to beat the pacman, marquez, Campbell, Diaz, or guzman(fatty). By the time he's ready(if he ever is ready),it'll be four years from now and all these guys, except for maybe juan Diaz, will be retired. I do agree with u that he'll beat yuri, and david Diaz. (maybe).... But I still don't think he'll beat katsidis

can't be a fluke because khan has tasted canvas against smaller fighters.
Why is Khan a protected British fighter? Must be because his weak chin is due to his nationality. I mean, I heard somewhere that people in Britain are more likely to have weaker chins than those over the Atlantic. Medical Journal Of Bullshit I think.
I'm not a 100% sure what people mean by a protected British fighter. But what they probably mean is that since khan has a large fanbase in his country, they keep him over there and not to the US. Plus he only fights opponents that r considered "good" by British fans. But those opponents r completely unknown to the north American fan. So as long as they can keep his countrymen beleiving that he's actually an elite fighter, the longer they can keep raking in the cash.

He might not have the best chin. But the most important factor is that he just got caught cold in the 1st. The same way so many other fighters have been blown out.
He'll be back and he'll be better.
He showed that he is inexerianced and has a week chin. he has all the boxing potential a great boxer needs but he will never make world level because he has no chin.
End of story
Khan is very talented but has a glass jaw
noone can disagree with that statement.

I think he was exposed as a fake.. He does have a lil skill but i dont see him doing well agianst the top lightweights: Diaz, Marquez, Pacquiao, Campbell, Guzman (Fatty), and Casamayor. He would have to beat some1 good to get my respect back... but i dont even see him beating Katsidis, Jesus chavez, Valero, and no way he beats Antillon LMAO. Maybe he should start with the rematch with Prescott and go from there.
He was exposed of having a weak chin and poorish defense. He has talent and is young so he can progress defensively and overall into a better fighter.

It wasn't necessarily lucky; if you're in a fight with the intent to KO your opponent, you can't really call any punch landed lucky... but it was perfect, thrown perfectly, landed exactly where it needed to.... Sometimes that happens, you throw it, and it's perfect, a thing of beauty. If you're on the receiving end of it, you have a bad day. If you're on the giving end, you have a good day.
The left hand that KO'd RJJ in their second fight was another example of it.
Hey...some people just can't take a punch. At all. Not even a jab.
All kidding aside I've watched a few of his fights and he certainly shows flashes of potential brilliance...he just needs to learn how to overcome his limitations. Roy Jones supposedly has a glass chin...and look at everything he's accomplished. Lewis, Hearns, and WLad are all good examples too.
Neither,
Khan has a weak chin, and suspect defense. That is all that got exposed. It was a good shot from Prescott, very good. It wasn't lucky, no punch is "lucky" really. Fighters throw punches intending to hit someone, if they hit someone and KO them they did what they meant to do.
I agree prescott would have Ko'd him in the end the jab hurt him. I dont know how good Prescott is i have only seen him twice will be good to see his next fight.
Yeah, Prescott didn't look very good against Abril a few months ago.
that's what ive been saying. A lucky punch is a one hitter quitter but can was rocked by a shot that didn't seem to have much pop behind it, then Prescott went in for the kill and khan had no idea how to weather the storm. That's what happens when a fighter is untested
It wasn't really the left hook that first got Khan in serious trouble that bothers me because that shot hit Khan high on the head where it hurts, it's the fact that he was wobbled by a jab that didn't seem to have much snap to it that does.
And I agree, Khan showed inexperience, not only when he didn't really know how to hold on or to cover up but also when he shot right back up from the first knockdown, if he had more experience, I think he would have stayed on a knee for a few seconds to try and get his senses back and give his legs a little rest, that's inexperience.
He's also too anxious to knock his opponents out, it was a similar situation with Kristjansen, he went all out for a knockout in the first 4 rounds and got winded, the knockout came when he calmed down and picked his shots, it's something they should work on.
