ok first of all, while I am not a fan of the way calderon fights I will say that he undoubtedly won against cazares last night... But cazares being the wild slugger that he is, seems all too perfect for Calderon who likes to counter and use footwork(mainly footwork) to win.. And against cazares's style, well it was easy.. But I was a bit disturbed that when calderon was asked who he would like to fight next, he didn't mention Solis or Sosa.. Is it because he knows that these two fighters are very technically sound and he doesn't want to be in the ring with someone as talented as he is? Is he afraid? He did say he wanted to unify titles right? Then what's the problem.. Maybe it's just me, I don't know, what do u guys think?
But my point is that this is definately the best fight to occur at 108 don't u think?
Ivan "Iron Boy" Calderon vs. Ulises "Archie" Solis? Sure, that is the best fight to occur at the 108 lbs. division, at least that's the fight I want to see.
The fight was certianly close. He has having problems with Glenns movement primarily and quite a few people on here though Glenn deserved the decision.
well to be honest with u.. I think the only people who actually thought he won were the phillipene fans.. And well.. U know how that goes... But don't think solis blew him out or anything but he clearly I just don't think it was close enough for people to argue that glen won.. Plus glen is much bigger than solis and calderon is way smaller!! But he did beat cazares with the size disadvantage... But my point is that this is definately the best fight to occur at 108 don't u think?
good argument.. But I don't think solis had any problem with glen donaire... Well not until the cuts occurred from the head buts cuz he did have slight problems after that but nothing major

Ivan Calderon would beat Ulises Solis, since Ulises has showed he has problem with counter punchers, like in his last fight, also I know that it has been 4 years since this fight but he did lose to Nelson Dieppa which again proves he has trouble with counter punchers and guys with great defense which Calderon has both. It would be a good fight but I imagine Calderon winning a very close but very clear UD or a SD. Against Sosa I believe Calderon wins to him easier than what he would win against Solis since Edgar Sosa hasn't fought good opposition in his last fights, nor guys with talent, So I would take Calderon by a slightly wide UD.
Not sure about Sosa haven't seen enough of him. I don't think Solis could do it, he had trouble with Glenn Donaire who is a slick, fast counter puncher. Admitedly he has more power than Calderon but he has the skills to beat Solis.

Oh yeah no doubt, calderon hasnt fought anyone as skilled as Solis and Sosa... Calderon would meet his match with either one of those guys. He's been ducking them for a while now. He says he wants to unify but he's a scared little bitch. He fights less skilled fighters... and on top of that since winning a title in 2002 the majority of his fight been in puerto rico... more gift decisions???????
but do u think that either of those two have a much better chance of beating calderon or not?
I think Solis has a chance, a great chance. He can box and he can slug and most important he carries dynamite in his hands. And he has what is needed to beat Caldron fast feet.
Sosa havn't seen much of him.

They have a better chance than Cazares ever did, but Calderon would be the favorite in those fights. Both of those guys are more skilled than Cazares and have more power, but the question is are they skilled enough, they would be good fights.
he wants to figh the wbo champ whoever that is, he's like cotto in the way they say 'whoever my promoter/manager tells me to fight i'll fight.'
to beat caldron you have to have either fast feet, or take a stand and cut the ring off you have to bully him

It will be some good fights, as for them beating calderon who knows?maybe and maybe not...
