Paulie was poor tonight. Just one of the nights I guess. But it could have been helped by cutting that ridiculous haircut BEFORE the fight!! That was funny as fuck though, I like Paulie but it was just a complete joke when that hair was all over his face in R1 then taped up, then cut off!! Never seen anything like it. Going by that performance, he'd get KO'd by Hatton.

Haye hasn't fought anyone in the heavyweight division and has fought as a cruiserweight for a reason. All this bogus talk and media attention is to once again sell another bogus fight where an under sized guy with a big punch moves up , makes a big payday and gets his A%# handed to him. Ricky Hatton was SO dominant as a Jr Welterweight, moved up a few pounds and got his butt kicked. Haye who hasn't fought anyone is going to move up and thinks he deserves a shot at the biggest hardest puncher he's ever fought. Even Hatton fought as a welterweight before challenging Mayweather. Haye's handlers are not dumb they won't risk the big payday when they can use the media to get a fight he doesn't deserve. 20 and 1 against mostly nobodies give me a break! You have to take into account that Hatton moved up in weight and fought the best boxer in the world! You seriously can't compare that to Haye moving up, surely? Plus Ricky is not a natural welterweight at all, nowhere near it for me, and is perhaps a bit 1 dimensional to fight the way he does and win against bigger guys. Haye on the other hand has always said he is a natural heavyweight. He definitely has heavyweight power (even at cruiser) and will be the quickest puncher/mover in the division by quite a distance. Haye will be a real handfull for anyone at heavyweight. I'm not saying he'll steamroll everyone, I just think he has a good chance against all of the top guys in that division.

I think this fight will happen, purely because of money. Hatton looks so small at welter and floyd loves fighting "looping" punchers that there will only ever be one outcome. Hatton should stick to light welter and take on the best in the division - after he beats Laczano, he should fight Paulie then Witter. Maybe Pacquiao once he's settled at the heavier weight??

Hopkins was the better fighter/scrapper/cagey old bastard. But if you're gonna be so defensive then those pot shots have to be more damaging and you need to land them flush, apart from the knockdown obviously, I didn't ever think Joe was in trouble.

A point taken for that!? That would have been ridiculous. I had it 115 - 112 to Joe. Hopkins landed perhaps 3 nice clean shots, Joe was far busier and was the aggressor. Not Joe's best performance, but he beat a great fighter tonight. Chuffed for him.

Controlled aggressiveness, ability to adapt his style, stamina and workrate. On many occasions he backed Hopkins into the corner and onto the ropes but Hopkins was able to tie him up or rush in with his head, which slowed Joe down. I felt Joe controlled the fight for the most part, and Hopkins had to resort to "bending the rules" - cheating basically!

Wlad would easily KO The Gaymaker. On what are you basing that exactly? His horrorshow against the very average Ibragimov? I can honestly say I've never been so disgusted by a fighter in my life. He didn't look quick, didn't look strong, refused to commit to a punch and worst of all, he looked like he had zero desire to fight. If Klitschko was so worried about getting off balance against Ibragimov, what the fuck will he do against Haye?! Brits have ALOT of faith in their most talented boxers, and with good reason, I think. Haye is up there with the most talented in the country. I'd love to see him fight (and I predict KO, early) Ibragimov to show the world how much better and more exciting to watch he is than Wlad.

For me the main problem for Hatton is Manny's piston of a left straight, can he find a way to negate it? I guess he has a few options...... Head movement is one, countering frequently and effectively enough to deter him from throwing the shot as and when he pleases is another. I suppose another option is to not give Manny room to get the shot off.... but I just don't see that happening, Pac is too quick to allow that to happen and I'm sure Ricky knows it. Ricky is obviously working hard on slipping that shot and countering, I'm seeing it time and time again in his preparation, and he looks good doing it in the gym. Whether he can get his timing right on fight night is another thing all together. Ricky has to keep cool in this fight, he can't just continually rush inside as Manny will start to pick him off and flurry as he's on the way in. If Ricky can negate the left and fight his way inside and sit on some nice body shots and uppercuts, he will have a fantastic night. Oh, and by the way, Hatton doesn't hold as much as people make out. He FIGHTS inside. He is a great INSIDE fighter........ just like Floyd Mayweather Jr is!

Anyone who knows anything about boxing will say speed and accuracy kills - look at all the greats, they all have this. Margaritos main assets were an iron chin and great engine (.....plus.... add plaster related gag here....!!) not power. Anyway, Hatton has been in with THE most accurate, straight puncher in the world. It didn't work out that well for him! But Manny is no Floyd, and the experience of being in with the best has taught Ricky alot - why do you think he's changed training regimes etc. I think Ricky can win this fight, He knows Pac hits hard and fast and will improve his head movement and catching of straight shots as he knows mauling and grappling a man with such immense stamina won't work. I expect a great fight, and if Ricky believes in his main strengths (quick jab, body work, intelligent in fighting) he can win this.

Since some people on here believe Mayweather is the easiest opponent for Pacquiao out of Cotto, Shane and Mayweather, I've decided to make this thread. Listen, despite Mayweather's output, I'm gonna say that I honestly believe Mayweather will dictate the pace against Pacquiao (I know that people are already thinking "Boring"). We're all used to seeing Mayweather come foward/ get more offensive against south paws, I don't see that happening against Pacquiao. As a Mayweather fan, I was lucky to see the late rounds on Cotto vs. Pacquiao because when Cotto started to move, I saw an average offense out of Pacquiao and Pacquiao seemed very very annoyed. Also, don't think for one second that Mayweather will stop moving because Pacquiao stopped in the middle of the ring only to bait him, ain't gonna work. Mayweather will crack a smile and continue to box. I predict Mayweather will be going toe to toe in about the 7th or 8th round. Not because Pacquiao has slowed down (That never happens) but because he will probably already have him figured. Lets look at the stats, Cotto has a 67 reach, Mayweather has a 72 reach and is 5'8, actually uses his height and reach. Lets also talk about Mayweather's straight right hand. When was the last time Pacquiao faced an opponent with a really good right hand? It was Marquez. Not Hatton, DLH, Cotto but Marquez, and we all saw the success Marquez had. Morales also deserves a mention. Not to say Pacquiao hasn't improved since then, because he has. The difference between Marquez's straight right as oppose to Mayweather's is that he doesn't clinch after landing it; Marquez would follow up with a combination and that leaves him vulnerable. Where as Mayweather would instead clinch and not allow the opponent to get off. Floyd will do anything not to allow Pacquiao to get off. With all this said, I'm inclined to believe Mayweather will dictate the pace. Mayweather's left hook ain't as devastating as Cotto's but Mayweather doesn't telegraph his punches. He doesn't have to plant his foot and get set; he can throw punches from pretty much all angles. Mayweather is the far more accurate puncher. I don't want to sound like I'm bashing Cotto either, I'm simply using him as an example; I really really am. On Youtube, I've subscribed to alot of people who talk boxing, and most have come to the conclusion that Pacquiao can beat Mayweather on activity alone. I strongly disagree because as I mentioned, Mayweather will dictate the pace and clinch. Another thing, Mayweather doesn't only use the shoulder roll. The only magic i've seen and observed in boxing is floyd pulling the greatest trick that he is unbeatable and the best. All flomos has been hoodwinked they thought they're seeing god they drools when floyd throws money on cam, sings halleluja when he announced he bought a refurb boat, bows in praises of his philantrophy feeding bums on street without any conviction and getting wide-eyed seeing his fancy cars they want to wash it with their tongues just like how the lick his nuts. actually i have...i once trained with Jesus 'lil poison' Pimentel...look him up...i never aspired to be an amateur or pro...jus wanted to stay in shape thru boxing...this was about 4 years ago and yes, im quite aware about 'winning' fights is what its all about...but the only thing that disgusts me more than wasting talent away by not challenging yourself, is wasting your talent while claiming your own greatness i'm a fight fan...have been for over 20 years...i've spent a nice fortune following this sport and if i want to vent my frustrations or poke fun, i will Cool, glad to hear it. I'll definitely look him up. But come on, Floyd has tested his skills so many times against top opponents, I don't know what more people want? Obviously, there are 2 or 3 challenges he has to face in the future...... Mosley being one, Pacquiao being two and perhaps the third being Williams or Berto depending on how things pan out. You don't have a damn clue either about the prime on prime fantasy match. Roy was a fantastic specimen "in his prime" (which is taken to mean..before Tarver knocked him out with one punch). But, nobody has ever exposed Joe Calzaghe. NOBODY. Since you asked for one, I'll give you one clue: Confusion. I've never seen a Calzaghe opponent that wasn't confused by Calzaghe's style. Not one.
