I think Hatton needs to put alot of pressure on pac and cut the ring off in order for him to get some killer shots off. Hatton needs to work the body and hurt him from fighting on the inside, we know pac likes to keep his distance to get his shots off and throw flurys of punches and combos. Hatton must look to work on the inside and ruff Pac up abit, this could work to his advantage in the fight...
Your thoughts?
the funny thing is (and no this isn't a comparison between the fighters) this is almost exactly what people where saying about the Malinaggi fight too.
"Hatton can't outbox Malinaggi" "Malinaggi will jab Hattons ears off"
Then Hatton goes and outjabs him and outboxes him all night long, if he does it again i will be laughing until next year.
Still back to reality.
Hope the ref wont catch him.Hatton should box dirty, employ headbutts and low blows plus rabbit punches. This is the only way HATTON will win vs. PACQUIAO....and hope he gets cooperation from the ref.
btw whose the ref assigned?Vic Draculich? If so then Hatton has a chance to play dirty.lol
Agreed, Hatton must fight on the inside and land some crisp bodyshots. Hatton needs to control the fight and not let Manny do his stuff or he's in for a long night. For me, i cant really see Hatton getting a decision over pac unless he can execute his plan on the night and boss the fight is the only way i see him winning a UD.
For me the main problem for Hatton is Manny's piston of a left straight, can he find a way to negate it? I guess he has a few options...... Head movement is one, countering frequently and effectively enough to deter him from throwing the shot as and when he pleases is another. I suppose another option is to not give Manny room to get the shot off.... but I just don't see that happening, Pac is too quick to allow that to happen and I'm sure Ricky knows it.
Ricky is obviously working hard on slipping that shot and countering, I'm seeing it time and time again in his preparation, and he looks good doing it in the gym. Whether he can get his timing right on fight night is another thing all together.
Ricky has to keep cool in this fight, he can't just continually rush inside as Manny will start to pick him off and flurry as he's on the way in. If Ricky can negate the left and fight his way inside and sit on some nice body shots and uppercuts, he will have a fantastic night.
Oh, and by the way, Hatton doesn't hold as much as people make out. He FIGHTS inside. He is a great INSIDE fighter........ just like Floyd Mayweather Jr is!
pressure, pressure, pressure, jab on the way in and move his head.
make sure that when the chance comes (and it will) to land a bomb, land it clean and hard.
if he hits manny with eth eshot he hit Malinaggi in round 2, he will win.
hatton has to stop manny getting into his rhythm he carnt afford to wait on pac man like dlh an jmm..... most have seen pac dont seem to be able to fight on the back foot....but im sure the pac camp must of been working on that.
Putting pacman on the backfoot is a very good tactics but he must be careful not to leave himself open while doing that, He needs to fight the same way he did against Tsyzu.
