Hey Rocky, you first would need to get your fighter into a boxing club in houston, I fight out of the houston area also..Walt Hailey is pres. of the gulf coast area USA boxing assoc. and he trains fighters out of Lee canilitos gym..You would also need to get an amateur license, but you can't just go to shows and fight your fighter would have to have a coach that would let me him know when he is ready.
I'm a heavy 225, and 27..I used to train at lee's for awhile but no other heavy's train out of there so to spar I had to go elsewhere..but I do like sparring lightheavy's and cruisers also..I didn't mean to imply you didn't understand boxing, just wanted to give you a heads up, it's all good. what side of town do you live on? at the gym I'm at now they have some 165 180 guys all ages, and the owner/coach is a personal friend of mine. We go to work everyday 6-8 pm. with about 30 other fighters. some really good amateurs there now, we're training for feb. silver gloves, it's in rosenberg which is about 10 miles south of sugar land. It's called TKO amateur boxing club. come by at any time mon. thru. thrusday 6-8 and ask for Jay or just check it out. address is 4106 Ave. H
