Why would Erik Morales "unify" only 2 of the 3 major belts? Is he avoiding the "Thai Tyson"?
Yodsanan Nanthachai - "3K Battery", "Thai Tyson"
WBA Superfeatherweight champion
43W(35KO's)-2L-1D
Notable wins:
*Steve Forbes - UD
*Ryuhei Sugita - TKO7
*Lamont Pearson - KO9
*Lakva Sim - UD12
Erik Morales - "El Terrible"
WBC & IBF Superfeatherweight champion
47W(34KO's)-1L-0D
Notable wins:
*Carlos Hernandez - UD
*Jesus Chavez - UD
*Guty Espadas - KO3
Note that i didn't mention Morales' impressive wins at 122~126.
Yodsanan IMO is a worthy opponent for him, good technical skills, real KO power and a proud champion...another warrior from Asia.
I hope this match-up happens before Morales goes lightweight.
Your thoughts.
I'm bumping this thread up to be side-by-side with Morales-Corrales and Morales-Pacquiao.
Now...
Morales-Yodsanan 3K, who wins and why?
...and please don't say that 3K has yet to earn a shot, it has been discussed already in the previous 3 pages of this thread.
Your thoughts. thanks. :)
chito, mooks
The Thai was Fahsan 3K (rings a bell?;)) and the other guy was Art Simonyan last May at ESPN...in a superbantam eliminator fight.
Both moving punching bags...errr tune-up (3K) and sparring partners (Art) for the PacMan.
I GUESS FOR HIM THEY ARENT.
They are kb8mvp. This thread is about Morales-3K at Superfeather 130-lbs. I suggest you read some of the posts from 1st page, if it's not a pain...all of 'em.;)
Randy Suico will be a good test for Yodsanan. Beating Suico would not raise Yodsanan's recognition the same way as Morales' beating him. So why not fight just to prove oneself?
Epie, 3K is looking past the PI...towards the US. Suico could become a mandatory challenger being ranked #4, so his chance will come. Fana exposed Suico, he relies on his KO power only to win...he needs to improve on his technique and develop lateral movement (footwork, side-to-side head mov't., bobbing-&-weaving). Hooking up with Goosen or Roach perhaps. ;)
BTW, i don't think they will meet, not at the moment at least...3K & Suico, if I'm not mistaken, are both Teikken fighters of Akihiko Honda.
Hey bro, is the fight you are talking about held in thailand? I've never seen this 3K and i was just wondering if he's the one i just got a glimpse of, he was fighting a white guy (by his looks i can tell he was a european guy) and the fight was won by this thailander by a decision. Is this the boxer you are talking about here?
thai vs white lol you gotta be more specific than that
I don't think 3K has proven himself in the eyes of the Western world yet. He needs to get some recognition before going for Morales, IMHO. He needs to fight smaller fish like Casamayor, Peden, Hernandez, and Chavez. Any one of these people will be more than willing to take his WBA title away from him (or, fight for it at least). I'd take Casamayor and Chavez over 3K, but not the other two.
PR, as I've mentioned in my previous post, 3K's mgt. team sought Freitas, Barrios (a mandatory challenger!), The Ghost Guerrero and The Galaxy Warrior Campbell to get the 1) recognition and to 2) to prove himself in the eyes of the Western world as you & Jose put it accurately. The problem is...they don't want to fight him. High Risk/Low Reward? He got some kind of luck in fighting Steve Forbes, and i wish he gets lucky again next time. Is Eddie Croft who was unranked, inactive for almost 3 years and has lost 3 consecutive times going into the Morales fight a "recognized" fighter & has rightly "earned" this match-up? Now, we have a legit WBA champ and he gets no meaningful fight in the US?
Anyways, Casamayor and Chavez are good fights. Casa would be tough because of his style, someone who comes forward to bang will make 3K look good like Famoso and Chavez.

I agree Jomapac. Pac may never fight 3K anyway, from the same mag (Muay Loke)...Pac was quoted as saying that he desires to fight Morales only, then his biz with 130 is done, he goes back to 126. 3K on the other hand may chase El Terrible up to lightweight...so they're going at different directions. It's sad that 3K may just end up fighting mandatories here in Thailand like long-time WBC bantam champ Veeraphol Sahaprom.
Muay Thai, what you quoted pac as saying is totally accurate his target is to fight EM at 130 and go back to 126 to close the show at 126....
For Yodsasnan, he has proved already how good he is, to Asian fans, I hope he will have his break to show how good he is on the other side of the planet....
Epie
Yodsanan has proven himself in my opinion. Stevie Forbes was a top 10 130 lber and 3k beat his ass. Yodsanan doesn't have to prove anything anymore, what he should do is seek the upper echolon of opponents. Maybe fight Nate Campbell or someone like that.
Randy Suico will be a good test for Yodsanan. Beating Suico would not raise Yodsanan's recognition the same way as Morales' beating him. So why not fight just to prove oneself?

Yodsanan 3K the WBA superfeatherweight champion of the world has yet to earn the right to face Morales, that's the overwhelming consensus here bandito. It just intrigues me of the fact that Eddie Croft (who?) was unranked and inactive for almost 3 years when he fought Erik Morales, what did Croft do to "earn" this? Someone enlighten me here, perhaps Jose.
Pacquiao doesn't want anything to do with Yodsanan 3K, you can quote me on that. I have the copy of the local boxing mag Muay Loke ("Boxing World") with Pac's photo on the cover. Before the PacMan fans jump on me, the words he said was "...I don't want to fight him (3K) at the moment...i want a rematch with Marquez" ;)
Morales-Yodsanan is a good match-up. But, 3K is too big for Pac IMO.
I also don't get it why Yodsanan need a shot at Morales, EM went for 2 belts already and to close the show at SF he has to face the other champion 3K Yodsanan....
Muay Thai, I would also agree that at the moment 3K is out of the list for Pac, but not for reason that he is to big, its clear Pac wants to fight Marquez first and next target is Erick Morales that is the plan, after these two fights we Pac Fans can look forward to other fights....

LOL LOL, This has to be the funniest thing I've ever seen. Morales scared of 3k battery. That was a good joke.
..and you're even much funnier. Nobody ever mentions that Morales is scared of 3K. Avoiding. In a tactical bizniz perpective.
@ Bigtex : You saw 3K at ESPN early this year huh? You must've seen the other 3K's out there, like Fahsan against Art Simonyan. The real 3K fought just last August.
Morales is fighting Barrera first. 3k has shown himself to be legit. I would be suprised if Morales left him behind.
I doubt Morales moves any higher up than 130 anyways.
I know what the thread is about.
Like try fighting on US TV everyonce in awhile or maybe coming outside of Thailand. gusy at 130-135 Juan Diaz, Julio Diaz, Joel Cassamayor, Jesus Chavez, Carlos Hernandez, Acelino Frietas, Diego Corrales.
quality fighters aint hard to find in that area.
I know your exicted cause you got a Thai fighter and all, but Im sorry beating Steve Forbes aint impressive. To even try and suggest Morales is avoiding him is just flat out foolish.
His management tried to get Freitas and Barrios. I guess they don't want to have anything to do with 3K...and I'm entitled to my "avoiding" opinion. Anyway, he just hooked up with a US-based promoter, that should help get meaningful fights for him like Chavez and Hernandez, Morales would've gone lightweight by this time if it ever happens. Morales is the big payday $$$ name nowadays, i have to agree with that.
