I don't like the way Ward fights either and some of the tactics he uses are illegal. It's up to the ref to enforce the rules and often they fail to do so. Ward usually fights near his home town where he can do no wrong. I hope Kovalev knocks Ward out this time.
What ward does in ring is not boxing and wrong. If the refs think its legal then the refs are wrong.
Canelo already showed fans he doesn't care about titles by dropping the WBC belt and handing it over to Golovkin rather than having to fight him. He's fighting Chavez jr in a non-title fight next. He only cares about making money not making history.
His options will run low and surely unified champ is a lucrative title.
He has had the option to fight best elite fighter at 154, Lara, and the best elite fighter at 168, Ward. He opted for neither. It's frustrating.
Best is subjective. I don't think lara is a top Calibre and defeats many in 160. If he took the fight, he would just be blamed more. Lara would be labelled canelo left over.
Ward one was tricky. I don't think GGG wins at 168(too small) but probably at 160(ward too drained). But they both declined the fight at certain points.too much risk for less reward in the end on that fight.
Haters cry when GGG doesn't fight decent opponents. They cry more when he does ppv to pay for good fights. You guys act like teenagers confused about their sexuality.
I'm not going to feel guilty about the US government taking my money, and giving some of it back to me. It'd be a big surprise if SS and Medicare is even still around when I get old enough. I should feel guilty about a dictator thug taking other's money (with no representation) and giving it to me.
The US government starting shady wars is making everyone poorer except a select few, and I'm certainly not benefiting from that. And I'm not going to feel guilty because I didn't vote these fuckers in. They'd take me to jail if I don't pay my taxes, so I have no choice in the matter. You'd have a choice in accepting a dictator's money.
Do you also think chop shops are legitimize form of business?
I don't see how watching boxing makes me complicit in any of that.
Part of what you pay turns into tax money which turns into war funds, whether you voted or not, you chose to stay there and fund it.
At least Kazakhstan is not causing worldwide suffering and trying to go in the more correct direction of bringing international funds and attraction to their country. GGG is doing a social service.
Since when did their networth have anything to do with who commands a higher figure in the boxing sphere of things?
Next you'll be saying GGG deserves more because canelo is ginger and more people like GGG's color hair than gingers.
Id hoped you could answer me the question i asked using the scope id asked for, but you couldnt.. you just quoted figures that are dependant on a multitude of variables, none of which have to do with boxing lol.
It has nothing to do with commanding.it just shows that GGG ain't thirsty for money like many make him be. He's doing well and is in no hurry of making up the fight. Either canelo pays fair share since it's a win win situation or he doesn't. He certainly isn't doing GGG any favour with a low 15m offer. He has more money in it if he wants to cash in.
If you honestly beliueve that you're retarded. Canelo made 13.5 mil from the Khan fight alone it was revealed in the court documents. That's more than Golovkins last 5 fights combined. :dunce:
Perhaps but tax cuts, court fees in his case and de la Hoya prolly sucked him dry. Sad
Please just tell me from a business perspective
Why should someone who routinely pulls 3x the viewing figures
Pulls twice the gate revenue and crowd numbers
Who clearly has the larger paying fanbase
pay somebody any more than 15 million dollars with a slice of PPV revenue when that person has
Never had a purse over a third of that ( and didnt receive PPV)
Never filled out on arena on the back of his own name with all tickets full price
Yet canelo is only as rich as GGG. Latoya probably sucks out his cash. Tragic
The front page of nsb has been all GGG I swear. ****s getting crazy to. You know what I do when I don't like a fighter? Not watch his fights for comment in threads about him. But these guys over here are obsessed
As I understand, they signed a contract to fight each other before Don King even knew where he was going to get the money from. Does that excuse them? I don't know. Regardless, I don't think it's right. And I find it implausible that the fight couldn't have been made any other way.
Do you personally think it's morally correct to take blood money from a brutal military dictator of a poor country to promote a fight? I don't. I would love to hear your opinion though.
Lol the country which has destabilized the entire modern world, from South America to middle East to Korea is usa. They have caused globalized suffering. Don't watch any fights from US. Morality is nice to apply when something doesn't fit your agenda.
Lol at people showing ppv numbers. His networth is still close to golovkin. None of them are poor and die without the fight so no need to make it like GGG is desperate for the cash.
A real boxing fan wouldn't want **** fights on ppv that don't belong!!! Hoping for bad numbers isn't bad at all when you know a fight should be on normal network tv and not ppv. Only a moron would hope for good numbers... then you will keep getting these kinds of fights on ppv.
Only "boxing fans" nowadays would accept a non star fighting a B- class fighter on ppv. No other sport has a platform like boxing there genius... usually the sports you're talking about are on normal network tv.
Only reason this fight was in ppv was to pay Jacobs. Dude can't pull in numbers but demand money. But if GGG didn't do this, naysayers would cry about how his opponents suck. If he doesn't do ppv, he can't pay quality opponents. Common sense mate
How a fighters skin holds up (bruises and cuts) is not a factor in how you score a fight. Some people bruise and cut easy, others don't.
Alright if we ignore the knockdown, the volume of punches, outweighing ggg or visible damage then yes I agree Jacobs won this one in spectacular fashion for sure!
Jacobs was also changing stances, which stifled GGG's jab a bit. Jacobs simply did a lot of things right tonight; he combined a lot of what other GGG opponents tried to do, but he had the physical attributes to go along with it.
You mean he duped GGG into thinking he's gonna fight for ibf then dropped to gain 15 more lbs to have the physical attributes
What is this cheating **** you guys keep throwing out. The 2nd weigh in wasn't commission mandated. Stop trying to make it seem GGG overcame some incredible disadvantage. If anything, he finally fought an above average career middleweight such as himself and was in a close fight that he arguably lost.
We're going to apply the same logic as people have to other close fights. Let's see if GGG gives him a rematch. I think him and his team realize they dodged a bullet and will try to cash out soon. He's not this monster you guys make him out to be and that's fine, he's still a good fighter.
Lol shut up until your brain can process logic. If Jacobs didn't want the belt he should have told GGG so they were on equal grounds. You can close your ears but GGG was fighting against a whole weight class disadvantage and Jacobs was in no way a 'middleweight' that fight. Jacobs is still a dishonest POS for pulling that stunt.doesnt matter anyway. Karma is a *****
Yeah he did and yet at the end of the fight, Jacobs looked like he came back from WW2 and GGG looked exactly the same as he looked at the start of the fight.
Boxing scoring is subjective. There's no scoreboard in this "sport". A basket doesn't equal 2 points and a goal isn't one point.
You dudes drive yourselves crazy trying to shove your opinions as facts down everybody's throats. These 7-5/8-4 fights can be swung in the other direction by disagreements on a round or 2.
It all comes down to a combination of who and what you like better.
Both these guys fought well and will go on to earn multi-million dollar paydays.
This may be the most mature response I have ever seen in this forum
Yeah so unaffected that the fight was pretty much in the balance and he wasn't prepared to be more aggressive, hmmm I wonder why that was?...
Hmm I wonder what it could be. perhaps because Danny cheated to outweigh him and had height and reach? Still lit up Danny's face. All that weight didn't stop him from spitting blood
