Andre Ward's fighting style is a disgrace to boxing. He will not win another decision by the football tackle leading with the head, straight into clinch holding and hitting. Or as showcased in the last Kovalev fight, he's lowered himself to the point of shooting double legs in the boxing ring.
Dude is a disgrace. Not only are his tactics illegal, they are boring as hell.
strip away the tackles... he's a 1 handed powder puff.
Anyway, the judges have seen enough. they will not let him win another big fight with his illegal tactics.
mark my words.
just LMAO

I don't like the way Ward fights either and some of the tactics he uses are illegal. It's up to the ref to enforce the rules and often they fail to do so. Ward usually fights near his home town where he can do no wrong. I hope Kovalev knocks Ward out this time.
What ward does in ring is not boxing and wrong. If the refs think its legal then the refs are wrong.
I know boxing and more importantly I know the nuances of scoring. I know judges are human too. I think kovs fast start, combined with the early kd and the change in pace afterward played into judges minds. I believe ward may have won some rounds because kov didn't dominate. For a fighter who is labeled as defensive this is par for the course. Kovs lack of energy was palpable and the whole arena saw it. He turned a light on and won round 10 but again the fact that Ward was consistent while kovs energy waned played a role in scoring. Yet and still I had ward winning 7 rounds.
Yet you still can't name me 7 rounds ward won
Well it tells me a lot about your knowledge if you think ward won.

His desire was .. boxing was **** he got screwed eirlier in his career to antefurmo and Monroe sr
I know but he had a following at this point. Ray was more beloved, but he had fans, he just felt ray was a diva. If he felt the judges just robbed him he wouldn't have had an issue with ray. Hearns felt he was robbed in their second fight and wanted to fight ray until he died. I think it had more to do with the manner of the negotiations versus just robbery, like you said he had been robbed before and came back and reigned!
Hagler had been champ for what 8 years undefeated and lost what he considered a robbery. The story ray says is that Hagler didn't want less, he didn't want to build a rematch but he wanted an immediate rematch (as it was huge the first time regardless). The business end was never haglers thing but he felt disrespected is what Bert sugar says. He was a proud man who thought he was cheated out of his lineage, what would be his desire to duck? He wasn't scared of his power, he won the second half of the fight, ray was available to be hit and he had just made 11 million. Why wouldn't he want that situation again?

All birds talk of coarse he wanted a rematch he won the first fight..but that's not how boxing works.

Watch srl hagler special on espn. Ray says hagler wanted an immediate rematch, his team wanted to build it up a bit so that he could get the upside hagler got first fight. Hagler didn't want to negotiate and they never spoke after that.

Im a huge Hagler fan I think he's the goat at mw but he did duck sgl for the rematch

But he won the first boxing match. If things go exactly the same way he'll win this one. Kov had a slight argument solely because of his power, take away kd and he was cleanly out boxed.

I'll agree with you if things go exactly the same way but that's why they won't, ward sleeping.
And... he had a gripe and he didn't ***** and moan to fans. He didn't do a million interviews he didn't even speak to sugar ray after that. He took his gripe, like a man, and made a decision. I do know hagler

Is that why he got outlanded? He never throws combos he's not on kovs level when it comes to boxing he got outboxed the first fight, boxing is not wrestling lil guy.

You don't know Hagler then he's the one who quit the entire sport after A bad decision

You've been on an estrogen charged rampage since STARTING this f@ggotty thead.:lol1:
This is YOUR thread....not mine:lol1:
i stated facts.
you stated emotional turmoil. women can't see logic. i understand.
in order to grab a headlock, the opponents head has to be in the armpit.
what is ward's head doing there?
oh it's cus Ward is shooting double legs

lol.
Ward slipped the jab, got on the inside, and Kovalev basically shat himself looking for the headlock. That was more than evident by even the third round of the fight.
keep trying to spin if you want.

The Public Bashing of the Judges from him and his team is not going to help though, would be better to STFU about it now and show and prove in the rematch. He will try to blast Ward out within the first few rounds I expect him to come out throwing BOMBS looking to take Ward head off early. If he can't do it early he will be in for another LONG LONG NIGHT
As for Ward, honestly he is in a good spot, he is the "Champion" so all he needs to do is just carry over what he did in the second half of the fight to the rematch, get inside, go to the body, avoid the early Power Serge from Kovalev. Kovalev by trying to make excuses revealed that he doesn't have great stamina, he himself exposed that he is a bit of a Front Runner and that by the 5th and 6th Round he fades. So As Ward been saying he just needs to start early, get INSIDE EARLY, Smother his Power, yes MAKE IT DIRTY get inside punish the body drain that stamina then box circles around him down the stretch for a decision that this team will not be controversial. Take away the knock down in the first fight and NOBODY is arguing the Decision absolutely NOBODY so that the rematch just avoid getting knocked out of course or knocked down again
If you threaten to end someone career then this shouldn't make it to the Cards Right? :dunno: Just Saying! Respect to both fighters I still think this fight is for #1 P4P regardless! Nothing wrong with having Bitter Rivals in boxing the sport needs more of it!
kovalov clinched ward a total of 52 times. that was john david jackson master strategy. and kovalev ended up blaming his trainer for getting tired. how can you be a fan of such a whiny f*ck like that.. again the ONLY one clinching was sergio. period. he was scared to engage the smaller weaker man on the inside. boogeyman my a**. :bottle:
So he was scared to engage but outlanded and dropped Andrea? :lol1: you sure you saw the same fight?
