Personally I think it's a bad move. Alot of money for him and his family and the fans get the undisputed fight. After that he can go fight Fury....either as undisputed or for the lineal title if he loses.
Deontay, AJ, Fury all fighting in the next few months and not against either other.....why are we celebrating this?
I see Canelo using the same tactics that he used against Rocky, if he were to fight Callum.
Callum is a very tall man, so there is alot of body area for Canelo to target.
I think it is a very hard nights work for Canelo, as Callum is a very good boxer, but I think he gets a late TKO or the decision.
I'd love to see this fight in September
You do realise that DAZN have no preferential treatment towards AJ. They want subscriber's so they earn money. AJ Vs Wilder puts them on the map in America. They are an American company....so surely Wilder would get the better deal.
Wilder would be getting pretty much the same as AJ. This isn't Eddie doing the deal but DAZN, who want a return on investment.
But that said, interesting to see where Deontay goes and if he has received a better offer.
Not so far fetched to think Wilder will get a shot at those belts before AJ.
WBO mandatory is due later this year, which will take priority over a rematch (remember Tyson getting stripped by IBF for rematching Klitschko).
Whilst mentioning IBF, they could also call Pulev mandatory.
The ONLY thing that would trump these mandatory fight would be a Unification with Wilder.
So you never know..
So for 10 dollars a month you get all of Matchroom, all of Golden boy (these include AJ and Canelo)
Now you get GGG as well.
I am guessing there is more to come, not to mention World Boxing Super Series.
Seems like good value to me
I don’t know why someone who gets upset about this would even bother watching. I watched and it went exactly like anticipated. I gathered nothing from it as expected. But no hate. On to next year.
Exactly, someone offers you a free belt for alot of money. All the record books will show is 3 weight world champ.
No shade needs to be thrown.
Now, if the next fight isn't GGG, Charlo, Jacobs ect. Then we can get annoyed. But after 24 rounds with GGG, how can you be annoyed by this fight?!
I'll be watching Whyte Vs Chisora, only coz the boys I'm drinking with that day, don't care about Frampton Vs Warrington.
But Frampton Vs Warrington is by far the superior card, no question
Great win. No doubt about the result. He is getting better and better. I think, whether you love or hate Whyte. We should all want the Wilder fight for him. Because it would be a smoke show. Wilder stands and swings, Whyte when pressed will stand and swing. What more could you want?!
At the end of the day Rocky was a 'champion'
If he had taken this fight without a belt on the line then I'd be very critical.
But after two wars with GGG, why not take an easy fight to cement your legacy even further.
Won't go as far to say, an easy nights work, but can't see Parker causing Dill many problems.
Punching power, defence, ring generalship are all lacking.
If I was Whyte I would be pushing HARD for this fight
Very bad move by Joyce. Don't run before you can walk. The heavyweight is very unforgiving and he can get seriously damaged. One step at a time.
He's a 33 year old, Olympic silver medalist. He has the pedigree and doesn't have the time to wait around. Make the right now. If he's good enough, he's good enough.
Took AJ 7, Deontay did it in 1. Statement made.
I have problems with both Ajs and Deontays teams for not making this fight. No problems with either fighter. Here's to hoping they can get this fight over the line sometime soon.
Really liked the sound of the card they were trying to build, Joshua v Pullev, Parker v Price and Del Boy v Whyte. But if they can't do it, then I am happy to see Joshua v Parker in November. It just might be a bit harder to sell as not many casuals will know much about Parker
All this "fury plays with Whyte" and "Whyte smashes Fury"
Only way to find out is if the top guys all fight each other.
If Dill gets past Rivas he deserves either Wilder or Fury (I'll omit AJ as he has already walked away from that opportunity)
Unless Fury and Wilder fight next, Fury can't do much better than a fight against Whyte
