I’m not sure that long term AJ can keep fighting in Wembley/Cardiff for every fight. The novelty wears off if its every fight. Save it for the really big fights, theres nothing wrong with the 02 arena etc for normal title defences etc.
What on earth are you talking about? He's fighting the number 3 heavyweight in the world. How much bigger do you want the fight to be? It's a stacked card which has sold over 83k tickets. Clearly there's demand. If they did it at the O2 instead of Wembley they will have just missed out on selling 63k tickets. There's a shortage of medium sized arenas: the O2 is way too small so it has to be in a big stadium.
I hate when i get long winded replies from people who havent read what I typed properly. I said nothing about THIS fight, I said long term and for regular fights.
For fights of tonights magnetude, cool.
All the future fights are of this magnitude. Tool.
AJ’s in an awkward position now. Although he KO’d Whyte, he showed a vulnerability that we hadn’t seen before. Hearn has to be careful who he matches AJ with for the next couple of fight… somebody who can test AJ’s chin, but not too much. There aren’t many Heavweights out there that match the requirement. David Haye for all his faults is too risky. I reckon we’ll see AJ against David Price sometime soon. Hearn might even try to talk Fraudly Harrison into coming out of retirement.
Nobody's ducking Khan, he just doesn't command enough interest. He's not elite at 147. He hasn't stamped his authority on this division at all. There are plenty of ww fighters out there for him if he's got the b4lls. Brook rips him a new one. End of discussion.
Khan's cashing out with this retirement package. It's quite clever... no one expects him to win so he can excuse himself after a loss, and it's a massive payday. If he gets hurt he'll retire, but there's always an outside chance of a win if he can run fast enough. Amir always has a better than average chance providing he avoids getting punched, and as much as I dislike him he's performs better when in a dangerous fight.
I imagine this will be the end of his career though.
This one ain't going the distance. Brook's gonna look like crazy legs Khan before the fight's over. On the way to StubHub Center now. Let's get it on!!!!
Maybe, but doubtful. Porter ain't got enough power to KO a legit WW.
Froch has a superiority complex when it comes to British fighters.
He thinks he's above all of them, which I suppose he is but it doesn't mean they're bad fights and they actually do most to boost his profile.
He's rightfully arrogant with a hard earned huge ego. At this point though I think it's less about superiority over other British fighters and more about banking the biggest paydays and the kudos of headlining in Vegas.
DeGale is well beneath Froch, in the same way that Froch was beneath Calzaghe. That's true for all fresh, up-and-coming fighters calling out battle weary champs in the twilight of their career. DeGale is where Froch was before the Super6. He needs to earn his stripes elsewhere. Ward would fight him but I doubt DeGale will go looking for that.
You wouldn't think he was a Haymon fighter with what he was getting paid
No, but he is, and like all the other Haymon fighters he's being gradually groomed as a big money product. Kell can cause and upset and become part of the elite mix, but only by either KO or absolute domination... neither of which are likely.
I predict Porter by controversial points victory... one score card being heavily in his favour despite what ever happens in the ring.
"Scared" . Hmmmm. That's a fairly crude way to try and get a fight. Like Froch would drop Chavez Jr for DeGale because his pride was hurt after being labelled "scared". Idiot.
DeGale is a nobody trying to become a somebody. He should be aiming to set the record straight with Groves... that's more his speed.
A domestic fight with Brook at Wembley Stadium would have been the most lucrative option for Khan outside of Mayweather (maybe including Mayweather) so I gotta believe he's ducking the kid.
Khan's so gassed up about Mayweather it won't be that lucrative. The desperation to share the ring with Floyd is not a good position to bargain from. The only reason Khan is more recognised than Brook is because Amir's the product of a well manufactured career by his promotional team - as a result he's had exposure to a bigger stage. Brook would KO Khan in a very easy fight. If Brook beats Porter he's has many opportunities. He should freeze Khan out by fighting Mayweather instead. What does Khan bring to the party that other fighters don't?
That's an easy prediction. A Haymon fighter at a Golden Boy Event in Los Angeles... Brook needs a KO. He has almost zero chance of winning by decision.
Sense, Khan has none, just listen to the poor lad.
Love that ^^. Yeah, he's got quick hands, but he's a total phuck-nut imbecile. Really off-the-scale, dumb as phuck.
Sounds like you are already making excuses for another Brit getting crushed. What will you say when Porter KOs him?
Yeah, it could be that, or it could be that I'm just a bit more realistic than you about what goes on in boxing.... y'know, grown up sh1t.
If Porter KO's Brook I'll say "well done" because I'm not that hung up on who wins. And, finally, I'm not British so don't have the same twatish attitude that you have.
C'mon, Shawn was knocking out dudes at 154 & 160 before he moved down. We shall find out soon enough.
KOing d-level fighters at 160 and still only a 60% KO rate. Scary!
I just read in another article he posted on twitter that he's rooting for brook. I guess he wants brook to win but choosing porter to take it
You root for who you want to win, but anybody with sense (not that Khan has much) will realise that a full distance fight favours Porter. Either guy could win by stoppage.
There's a lot of talk coming from the Canelo camp but there is no need for more words. GGG has stated many times that he wants the fight. Canelo should either take the fight or stop talking about it. If it's a business decision to avoid GGG (ODLH protecting his cash cow) that's cool, but when Canelo talks about GGG it's phuuking embarrassing.
It's sad that he portrays himself, mentally, as a robust man if he is actually this fragile. There's nothing wrong with asking for help if you need it, but he was very vocal about Haye causing delays and he should be more respectful about delaying Wlad's career closing fight.
Khan the next Mayweather? Phuckin'ell, the kid's got imagination... should have tried comedy instead of boxing.
Let's imagine Khan gets the Mayweather fight and pulls off a miraculous win. Not just any old win either. Let your imaginations run wild. Let's say Khan KO's Mayweather in the first 90 seconds. Totally wipes him out to a huge media fanfare. Does that really erase Khan's unanswered defeats, mediocre performances against weak opponents, lacklustre resume, cherry picking & dodging, fragile chin and that chicken dance of his?
No, it doesn't even come close.
The problem with Khan & his followers is that they have no sense of perspective. They think beating Floyd is some kind of holy grail that means all past misdemeanours disappear. They don't. Even if the impossible happened, Khan will always be that guy that got KO'd by Prescott, and he'll always be that guy that didn't demand an immediate rematch to set the record straight.
I don't especially like Mayweather, but he's earned his props undefeated over a long career fighting decent opposition. WTF has Khan done to impress other than making fights against gatekeepers look hard work?
Can somebody just put that cnut out his misery?
Khan saying he'll fight Keith Thurman if the Mayweather fight doesn't come off :lol1:
Ok, Amir.
Running out of non-punchers in the welterweight division. Maybe Bundu?
Oh wait, you don't even fight welterweights.
Frankie Gavin... and Khan will still make a close win look difficult.
Absolutely. Also, I haven't seen Brook get knocked out twice, use cheap tactics in every fight, etc. Why should Kahn get any more credit or look down on him?
Khan doesn't mean to be a c**t about it but he can't help it because being a c**t comes naturally for Kahn.
Tru dat....
he Khan't help being a cnut. He just is.
Khan vs Ortiz. That is The fight.
No it's not. My grandmother could probably beat Ortiz. Nice guy, decent fight against Berto, but dodgy temperament and has no place in a pro boxing ring.
The only fight I care about is watching Brook rip Khan to pieces.
