WBA welterweight champion Keith 'One Time' Thurman is going to create a lot of debate with is most recent statements, explaining his belief that Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) took the less challenging fight on May 7th, when the British star moves up by eight pounds to challenge Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs) at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.

Agreed. It could prove easier because of Canelo's power ending it early but from a stylistic standpoint I do think Canelo is a more favourable fight for Khan.
Canelo needs to set himself and Brook has a ramrod jab he'd stick in Khan's chest to stabilise him he also hooks well off the jab.
I feel Brooks style is far more suited to dealing with ambush fighters, guys who look to zip in and out. Canelo only really opens up when an opponent is static, trapped on the ropes and they're done throwing.
Canelo not only hits harder, he can also take a punch
Brooks chin has "?", he's been rattled and put on wobbly legs a few times, by lighter hitting punchers than Khan
Khan has the ability to hurt Brook and keep him sweet
Canelo on the other hand has a solid jaw and i am not sure if Khans power will have any effect on Canelo
Brook would have been a easier opponent for a number of reasons and a 50/50 fight.
So why didn't Khan take it?!
Because it IS a 50/50 fight, and that means he has a 50/50 chance of losing to Brook!
Something his ego just cannot handle?
Or just because that fight, and another payday, will (probably) still be there after a big money against Canelo?
IF he lost to Brook first that's him done.

Thurman is right, as usual...
I disagree. They are both very good counter punchers, but Canelo has proven himself much more at the world level. Not to mention Canelo is f.cking huge
Canelo hits harder but I don't think there's much in it. Brook is a massive welterweight and also hits very hard. I think Brook would have an easier time landing than Canelo.

Canelo is a massive LMW.
Brook's only name fight was against Porter who came to him. Canelo has fought better more technical movers than King.
This . . . and the Brook fight is still there for him after he loses to Canelo.
It was a (good) business decision.
I have a feeling brook doesn't care hoiw many losses khsan has. Brook wants khan on his resume real bad
Wouldnt say Canelos the easier opponent, he just has nothing to lose.

You realize Khan's punches won't have the same effect as Alvarez's will have on Amir right? Not to mention there is no re-hydration clause.

There's the interview, Thurman wasn't being sour or anything, not surprised Khantards are acting like victims again tho
Thurman is right, stylistically Canelo is an easier fight for Khan. If Canelo vs Khan goes the distance, I'm pretty sure Khan wins the fight. If Khan vs Brook goes the distance, I'd be less sure about Khan winning.

Fight wise Canelo is the tougher fight. Emotionally, and through the build up Khan would go through a lot of things similar to when he fought Garcia.
He won't have to deal with that now.
True thurman is enamored w himself he ran against a 40/yo 15% k.o artist in bundu and got almos knocked down with that body shot from collazo and hes talking bout eazy routs cmmon fight that kid mayweather said and then well talk kid...
Thurman had mad respect but he doesnt know how 2react when hit ghost the x lightweight made him run a bit magine a camelo combo fool would jog off that ring his hands r full enuff with porter so shut up 4 a change and proof ur a p4p cat indeed
Dam egotistic thurman da ghost made him bleed & retreat would love 2c canelo crack him ala kirkland & and see if kahn took easy route canelo vs thurman make that happen oscar shut this vat up 4a change
Canelo is slower than Brook no doubt but when Canelo lands he is going to knock Khan straight over the top turnbuckle into the crowd. Notice how Cotto who looked like a killer against Geale and Rodriguez never settled down on his punches.....that was Canelos power right there.
Canelo is fast and accurate with those punches he knows how to put them together better than brook, brook has more leg movement thats for sure but that is all I see he has better than Canelo. Thurman is retarded.
Smh...
Keep talking Keith. Canelo will be around for a LONG time. When you grow balls, you could be next. Everyone is always talking about how flat footed Canelo is.....not exactly. Every fighter doesn't have to "move" like SRL in a ring. Most cannot. Canelo's reflexes, defense, and ring IQ make him who he is. He is going to KO the moving and fast Khan. What will Thurman say then? Noone at 147 is beating Canelo. Matter of fact, no one smaller than him is beating him. The kid has arrived, so get used to it.
