I remember this fight, the broadcast story was how on that day Mosley had finalized his divorce. The talk was if it was going to be a distraction for his performance. And what I saw was a man taking out all his frustrations on a stationary punching bag with zero defense. He beat the brakes off Margs. Was a beautiful thing. Gonna go with NO steroids just divorce rage at losing half his money.
I feel like **** cause no joke I read the headline and couldn't remember who the **** this guy was. Had to google his ass then I remembered him from old days of Friday night fights and showtime boxing cause he use to fight 3-4 times a year and was a good watch. Won that belt and has been holding it in protective custody fighting once a year lmao! Gary you gotta do more work before you can talk ****.
OK Wlad is a ATG respect him please. from 2005 to 2015 he DOMINATED the heavyweight division, taking all comers and sending them home with pounding headaches. He ducked no one he owned everyone during that time. However like all mean he got old, a man of that size take more wear and tear on his body he aged harder. So when he finally loses in 2015 to Fury at 38 /39 Fury is all of a sudden an elite boxer.... really. Then Wlad suffers his second loss in 12 years to AJ and now AJ is best heavyweight in world.... really. They beat a aging champion it happens to the best of them. Doesn't make them best in world only makes them in the right place at the right time. When they put together, ill be fair, 5 years of dominance then you can say they are best in world. At least that how I see it. We got a lot of young hungry HW champs one of them will rise to the top. For now they all still got a lot to prove.
Fight was good, but it didnt live up to the hype. No way this tops AJ-Klitschko.
BS score card and a draw hurt it quite a lot. I personally lost a desire for the rematch. Would rather see GGG against Jacobs or Sanders.
THIS INDEED!
Despite who you thought won, that one score card and the draw overshadow what these to men did in that ring.
REAL QUESTION IS: If you have high blood pressure, cool no problem, why wasn't your medication and doctor prescriptions not issued to VADA before testing began so it can be taken into consideration?
Wlad's 1 2 punch after Stewart got him was like. Sledgehammer, kitchen sink in rapid succession. All those smaller HWs trying to come forward and get inside on him were battered stupid.
They should really stop threads like this discussing fighters taking money to make a fight. There is a huge lack of knowledge on the reality of boxing deals. Majority of fighters aren't even in the deal making process, they are home awaiting a call from the people that make these deals and direct their careers. And when they get that call all they wanna know is 3 things. Base pay, PPV %, Who is walking out first. Sad thought I have is that boxers are puppets dancing on strings for their promoters and their teams. The puppet masters are the ones that determine if a fight will happen or not. Start a thread labeled Promoters are being greedy and won't make the AJ vs Wilder fight.
On a side note... Im watching Fast Eddie handle AJ in a similar fashion to Bob Arum with Pac. He gonna use him for as many high profit low risk fights as possible.
On a real talk note.... Neither AJ or Wilder have done shyt in the division to deserve the attention they are getting. Let them win for 5 years straight ( half of Wlad reign) before we anoint them.
Please stop it. His first 39 fights were against bums. # 40 was a old Mosley and # 41 omg was a 140 lbs Josesito lopez (total bull****) So really lets count the fights since Trout #42 he is 5-1. He still very far from a hall of famer. VERY FAR!
mmm this **** is gonna be interesting on the cards... a lot of close rounds. seems like whatever you look for in a fight is what you will lean toward, ie generalship, aggressiveness, harder punches, movement, defense. Both sides offer compelling reasons to win most of the rounds.
if someone don't stand out we gonna see a bull**** draw and mass hysteria
ok now HBO just set themselves up for a mega fight with GGG and they own both fighters so they gonna go that route. WOW! Ok Canelo won but it was closer than those scores.
Chino, like him or not, has a great story and I am nothing but happy for him. He had 3 fights in a row that made his bank (broner mayweather 1+2) and he got the **** out. **** everything, **** boxing, my bank is right, Im out. That man has a smile that is real freedom, not a worry in the world. I respect that.
I would say Wilder did his job if they gonna go back and rework the offer. Maximize your money! Hearn in a bidding war with himself on this one cause, Wilder is right... He don't need Whyte, let him work up to a mandatory like everyone else. OR Whyte can go out and create some buzz on his own name.
This fight is not PAC vs Mayweather. The masses aren't howling for this fight to happen. **** people still don't even know who GGG is. Its a much bigger fight to people that really follow boxing than it is to mainstream media. Golden boy wants it to be Pac vs May, wants it to have that kinda buzz and generate that kinda interest, when reality is the fight is not even more exciting than Ward/Kovalev in my opinion. Hell more people wanna see Fury vs Klitchko cause Fury has gone out there and made himself known through his antics. And people wanna see him either win or get beat down. GGG still to this day is barely known.
Ok lets look at this from Lara viewpoint. Lara whips Angulo TKO, only to get passed up for a Canelo fight in favor of the man he beat. Then is put in with Trout who he beats. And still he has to run up in Canelo press conference before he can finally get the fight with Canelo. Yes, he is acting butt hurt, cause his style is not what the "fight watchers" wanna see, but he is a talented boxer with real skill that GBP most likely didn't want to expose Canelo to yet.
Lara said this in previous BS article before canelo/angulo:
"And if (Canelo) would've knocked Mayweather out he would've won. The problem here is he didn't and Angulo didn't win either. People forget even with the two knockdowns I was still winning on the scorecards, winning the tenth round and he quit. Canelo and his team are trying to con the fans into believing Angulo quit and beat Trout for every round. When he fought Trout it was an even fight. Losers shouldn't be fighting each other. Boxing is about winning and fighting at the top level. It's time Canelo and his team stop making excuses to not fight the best. If Canelo wins, I'll make him quit and if Angulo wins I'll make him quit again. The American Dream will be the Mexican nightmare."
We shall see you crazy Cuban, we shall see!
MMA on a boxing site... ok whatever. Good fight right man won by the correct score. Good to see the judges score the fight correctly. I would have accepted a draw as well
Wait hold on...Im gonna jump to some weird thinking points here. When was the last time Pac fought outside the US? And now he has a list of 9 people who he could face, mmmm those 3 particular countries are suspect, I am really curious why he wouldn't fight in his own country. He might start a cycle of PEDs to have a good showing in his next fight hence fighting in another country. OR he don't wanna pay us taxes. Whole situation seems weird.
That's some real sensitive ass feelings. Oh wait I forgot, a war and hatred sells better than respect. Increase that hate, talk that ****, and sell this fight. #increasemyPPVbuys
Ok... to its not so much that Canelo won. I believe he won, and I was rooting for Cotto just to be able to see what Oscar would do next, but Canelo won a closer fight than those score cards had it. I was seeing close rounds with cotto looking good for first 3-5 rounds then I just watched Canelo take over on him and take the fight. They were hoping he was gonna gas he didn't and it seemed as if Cotto gassed.
Damn WTF is up with Cotto? My girl looked over my shoulder at that photo and asked " who is the gay guy with the pink crocs? WTF is a croc? Why does he look so out of place in that photo? Never seen a outfit like that on a dude in the gym.
Thats all well and good. Listen to him I am sure he has some nuggets of good advice. As long as that advice isn't the blueprint to beating Cotto. We all know how those turn out.
