Jr. and Sr. have something unhealthy going on in their relationship and its time for jr. to adress those issues, make changes. He probably has been told since beeing a kid that he is the best thing since sliced bread. Reality is, atm he wont win vs. a really good fighter. And it was obvious he hasnt the punching power as an equalizer for his lack his skill/gameplan. I thought he has improved since Saunders, but he only looked better cause of the opposition. Now that he stepped up, totally the same. Instead of adjusting a gameplan, he got desperate. A mixture of heart and desperation. Heart is good, beeing desperate in the ring is not.
ps. Chavez jr. at least beat Andy Lee :-)
Im rooting for Ortiz, but in the end i dont care who wins. Its difficult to predict what will happen in the ring. One scenarion that is imho very possible is Ortiz outboxing Wilder and leading on the cards. Then getting caught with a right hand that totally changes the fight. You can say what you want about Wilder but he gets the job done. Maybe not so impressive when not even fighting top10 guys to this point, but he seems to have that strength and confidence and skill to land that one punch as a gamechanger. But maybe im wrong and Wilder can establish his jab and playing it pretty safe from the outside. However, its a interesting fight and a very good win for both of these guys. Winner should fight the AJ - Parker Winner in the next 12 month.
I have gotten all of my predictions right From loma to rigo to ward kovalov to garcia vs the machine. With my predictions I don't use bais. I call it down the line how i see it and study both styles.....now. Wilder vs ortiz, i think ortiz has the better balance technique punch selection and he's very very accurate. This should be a very easy win Against The Reckless wild swinging Wilder. But this is where people get it confused they're only going by technical things when there's other things in boxing that. Are just as special. Wilder throws more punches then any of the top heavyweights. Yes he has freak power but it is his work rate that is unreal for a man of that size. I haven't seen a man throw as many punches at that weight ever honestly, He has a huge huge gass tankk, And this is a thing that's the most freakish and dangerous about a heavyweight like wilder. I believe Ortiz will have some form of success very early on and as the rounds go on he's going to be getting hit way more than he's ever been hit before and he's going to eventually get clocked with something and hurt. I see a tko win for wilder. Apart from the trolls who hate wilder and just say he's picking on a old man or the trolls who hate ortiz and just say he's going in roided this is indeed a legit fight.and when u put the bias to the side was tough to study the 2 styles......may the best man win.
I can fully agree with your comment.
It is a very possible scenario.
The longer the fight goes the better for Wilder. The best chances for Ortiz are early on. I can see him having good success outboxing Wilder for a few rounds and landing some heavy stuff. However, it seems Wilder has a good chin, and to some extend he is able to protect it. So the difference in skill would have to be immense so that Ortiz nearly can hit Wilder at will, which wont happen. So i see Wilder recovering when he gets caught with some hard punches. And while Wilder is wild and raw, he has that winner mentality which will allow him to overcome a suboptimal start. And he can put Ortiz to sleep with his freakish power, which can happen at any time, but more likely in the later rounds when Ortiz is more tired.
That all beeing said, its just a good fight for the heavyweight division. I hope its a good, fan friendly fight and both are in shape and show what they are capable of doing.
I see it 65:35 -> Wilder
Close to call. Its obvious Ortiz is more skilled and polished but didnt look good in his last fights. He probably will prepare like never before and i dont see why he shouldnt be able to pull out a masterclass performance. He should be able to outbox Wilder. When Szplika and Washington can, than this is a real possibility. On the other hand i dont think Parker will outbox Joshua. He may run around and avoid bombs for a while and off course has the chance to land himself. But overall i see Joshua wearing him down AND outbox him.
That beeing said, these are 2 great fights in heavyweight boxing and will probably lead to Joshua - Wilder down the road.
They both werent to willing to make that fight, thats true. Too bad Roy cared about hometown decisions in his prime. When he became a punching bag he was more than willing to travel to russia or australia. The risk back then would have been comprehensible, DM was a very good fighter. He usually started bad (beside some fights like against Montell Griffin) but became better with every round. His stamina was extremely good. However, his style and his speed and his tendency that it took him a few rounds to get his engine going would have all spelled disaster against Roy Jones. Jones would have won 11-1 /10-2. They wouldnt have robbed him. When Julio Gonzales (who Jones toyed with like he wanted) beat past prime DM, he got the decision like he should. Beeing robbed in germany is an overused term.
when did your main account get banned??? joined in 2015 and only started posting this month?
I had so many accounts, i forgot -> i think that was the answer you want to get me ?
To be true, i had 2nd thoughts about writing here at all. While there are people wanting to discuss boxing, its way too many people who just want to push their ego with disrespectfull comments.
And all these race nonsense discussions are laughable, kindergarden and will get me out of here sooner than later probably.
Thing is that Jones was a little more vulnerable at 175, he wasn't quite the same beast that he was in the lower weight classes.
That said, I think he beats all of them. Just maybe not as easily as some think. Although I'm not sure why Beterbiev is on that list. He looked promising at first but he hasn't done anything to make me think he'd be a problem at all for RJJ.
Beterbiev simply is too slow with hands and feet. Prime Jones clowned slow fighters. Beterbiev is another level than Telesco, but the fight could very well exactly look like that.
The biggest problem is that clowns like Khan have a platform for every nonsense coming out of his mouths in these days.
Off course he will lose against all the mentioned title holders. It just spells disaster when you have a chin like Khan and cannot execute any game plan for longer than a few rounds. He just lacks the mental toughness and dedication to compete at the highest level anymore. He will probably, beeing out of the ring for years, loose against a good B-level fighter. Where Khans priorities have been in the last years was no secret. Not in the gym obviously.
Dont know about the "no problem" part either, but think statements like "Dorticos will outclass Gassiev" surprising. Gassiev has proven he can hang with an elite fighter like Lebedev, i would be surprised if he gets outclassed by Dorticos. To be true, i think its nearly impossible he gets outclassed. He may found himself getting ko'd by Dorticos, cause Dorticos has a lot of power. But Dorticos boxing ability is nothing Gassiev has to fear.
The closer the fight the more i lean toward Gassiev. Dorticos is talking too much for my taste while Gassiev remains gratifying calm. Thats what i like about Gassiev. He comes across a very nice person, i have never seen him looking agressive. Its just not his thing. But in the ring he turns into a killer. I find it unlikely he will get ko'd early. He is very careful when a fights start, doesnt do stupid things. He seems to be a pretty good "downloader" what his opponent is doing. He also was never hurt, Lebedev couldnt make any impressions with his power so i doubt that Dorticos can put him away with one punch. Its also that Dorticos power is for sure there, but lets see how good of a puncher against Elite opponents. Kalenga made it to the 10th, Edison Miranda the whole distance.
I also dont understand how some people see Dorticso outboxing Gassiev. Gassiev can box quite good. If Lebedev cannot outbox Gassiev, i doubt Dorticos can. Gassiev is young, its very likely we will still see improvements in his game.
So im gonna take Gassiev by ko rd8
I made a decision, i will quit visiting boxingscene. I dont want to support this kind of nonsense journalism anymore. If a fighter farts, thats enough to get a new headline here. In the past you had to at least say anything of substance to get media attention. Maybe some of you may think about that. What is the sense visiting a site where half of the fighters speaking have the iq of a banana (ok, the users too) and then - more or less - argue about if this or that fighter thinks this or thinks that, if he is racist or not, if he is ducking someone else or not ps.
yes i know nobdody will care ;-) Just wanted to say it: This journalism is pure ***** and encourages the dumbest fighter to act like clowns to get attention.
Sullivan is a good fighter, but he is top20 at best while Lemieux is somwhere between 5-10. Lemieux hits harder and is quicker with his hands. And Sullivan has no tools like Saunders to make Lemieux miss. Also Lemieux can take a good shot, i would be surprised if Sullivan would stop, or would even come close to stopping Lemieux. I just dont think so. I take Lemieux in 8-10 rounds in an entertaining fight. Like another guy mentioned, Lemieux vs Eubank would be very great fight ! Not sure how that would play out.
This little chance of Price hurting Pove early is imo non existent after watching his last fights. He fights scared, he is totally shot. If he has any power in his punches left he wont land. Povetkin will eat him alive with no problem. It s a pretty perfect fight if they want to build up Joshua - Povetkin. Povetkin will get a crushig ko against someone very known in Uk. Hearn doing his job pretty good.
He is confident for a reason. You have to to look @ Eubank sr./jr differentiated: Their talk, demands and the rest of the nonsense, especially from senior and what you see from Junior in the ring. His loss to BJS was long ago, he has developed a lot since then. I think Eubank sr. lives in his own world, i know people like him. You have to continously slap their mouth, always watch out what kind of tricks they are playing. But that all aside, Eubank jr. is a good fighter, has improved drastically and will imo beat Groves, maybe easy, maybe in a tough fight. But i think in the end, he will win.
I think this "someone has to protect him" is nonsense. Its his life, no one needs to protect him. While i think its pretty said he cant find something thats a little bit healthier than getting his head knocked off, its his decision.
I also dont think he wlll stop fighting. If he wins he thinks he still got it, and if he loses he doesnt want to go out with a "L". Maybe a draw is the only way Roy stops fighting.
When i look at his guys record, i think this opponent is not washed up enough for old Roy. The chance of him (Roy) getting knocked out is very high.
However Roy is one of the greatest fighter ever and even if he gets knocked out another 10 times, that wont change one bit.
