yeah, if only ortiz was a bit quicker then there'd be no doubt about it but he is painfully slow now. I still think he'll get the job done though. This heavyweight era is absolutely awful
Yea, that is my concern. I can see Wilder running all night and Ortiz being too slow because he is probably 85 years old and maybe the juice was real indeed.
If he is in their telegraphing punches I can see Wilder's scrawny ass moving out of the way.
What an absolute clown....that technique, that jumping footwork is something to behold...
I just have to pick Ortiz...
I've been hating on Wilder for years and I just can't see how Ortiz could loose, unless he really was on some serious juice before and now that he is "clean" he will just come in limp and not throwing.
I mean if you love boxing for boxing, you just have to go with Ortiz, for the good of the sweet science you gotta...
He should be able to put on a clinic, wilder has never been in with an opponent that actually has skills and power like king kong. As long as ortiz doesnt get caught with a hail mary shot he should outbox wilder and KO him.
ya keep sleeping on wilder...
Ripped? LOL. C+ trolling.
But good on Ortiz for trying to get in better shape. I hope if Wilder wins more people give him respect for the win vs say Ortiz ain't sh^t post L although thats probably asking too much of some alleged boxing fans.
I personally think Ortiz isn't THAT good now & don't see the reason for so much hype going his way so I'll probably be agreeing with some of you flip floppers post fight when he loses, but Wilder is highly beatable to so who knows what'll happen here. I do favor Wilder in this matchup & see him as a 60/40, 65/35 type favorite.
but still, old or not, this is wilder's best opponent to date (and vice versa)
Interesting... excited about this one but I hope it doesn't turn out to be rough for Wilder. Little Joshua ducking and dodging while Wilder leaves a bit of his prime in the ring with top fighters.
i'm picking ortiz to beat wilder.
if wilder can beat ortiz i will be impressed. he's very strong, experienced, has skills, and he's a left handed ehavyweight from cuba. most of those guys are playing baseball. very, very rare at HW to find a left handed puncher like ortiz.
Also Wilder is already at fighting weight and is just working on skills timing and punching power and not focusing on weight loss, or how his body looks, because Wilder keeps his weight in control and stays at a certain fighting weight all year round.
He doesn't want to lose weight to quickly, because he's going to lose his legs and come out flat and weak in the fight. He should be eating fully and gradually taking his weight off and keeping it off and keeping ir level all year round, just like Floyd does and other greats, because look what happened to James Toney and his rapid weight loss and constant weight gains and quick weight loss, he would come out sluggish and flat in certain fights, like against Roy Jones and especially at middle weight.
Just losing weight quickly and working crazy hard for a fight, doesn't mean your going to knock someone out or win the fight, you should already be at or around fighting weight when you started training camp, and your main focus in training camp should be sparring and timing and speed and power, along with keeping your wind conditioning and legs, while just needing to lose about a couple of pounds in 3 months, while still being able to eat good but healthy.
Riddick Bowe tried that rapid weight loss against Andrew Galota and came out flat with no legs and no punching power, with no strength and the only thing that saved Bowe, was low blows and a disqualification, other than that, Riddick Bowe got his ass beat.
This fight and Joshua/Parker are the ones that I'm looking forward to the most before GGG/Canelo 2. Cannot wait! I got Wilder by KO in this one, and Ortiz better not fail another test.
I don't care who wins, but I'll root for Ortiz. Wilder talks way more than his skills justify. Let's see if Ortiz could shut him up and derail that Joshua fight. Not interested in a fight between a windmiller and a mummy.
War Ortiz!:boxing:
Im rooting for Ortiz, but in the end i dont care who wins. Its difficult to predict what will happen in the ring. One scenarion that is imho very possible is Ortiz outboxing Wilder and leading on the cards. Then getting caught with a right hand that totally changes the fight. You can say what you want about Wilder but he gets the job done. Maybe not so impressive when not even fighting top10 guys to this point, but he seems to have that strength and confidence and skill to land that one punch as a gamechanger. But maybe im wrong and Wilder can establish his jab and playing it pretty safe from the outside. However, its a interesting fight and a very good win for both of these guys. Winner should fight the AJ - Parker Winner in the next 12 month.
A picture don't mean nothing! He still has to execute. The only way he wins this fight if he's still on that shlt. If King Kong's clean he's getting his ass whooped. That's the bottom line. Chances are he's probably been juicing his entire professional career but has never been caught.
