He's made more money in his last 3 fights then he had in his entire stay with pride. I want Fedor in the UFC too but I can also see why he's so loyal to them.
He'd be making that type of money even if he wasn't with M-1, IMO. Simply because he's Fedor.
Everybody wants to have him fighting under their banner.
Take this shit to the MMA forum, quit bumping it. No one cares.
That's pathetic. One of your own is fighting and you don't even give a shit.
Low, Man. Low
At least MMA is giving Toney a proper amount of respect.
that was a work you stupid **** ...wasnt even a real fight, it was an exhibition
How does an exhibition= a work?
mercer KOing the greatest UFC hw champion in the history of the company in 9 seconds >>>> mercer losing to kimbo slice in an exhibition fight
I hope you aren't serious about this.
Randy Couture beat the shit out of Tim Sylvia standing for 5 rounds , did anyone really think Ray was going to have any trouble doing the same?
Tim Sylvia is a shitty fighter and was only champion because the HW division sucked ass during his title reign which was what? 1 title defense?
The fact remains that Kimbo/Mercer wasn't a work. Who the **** goes into an MMA fight and just expects to stand. Mercer got choked out by a street fighter. LOL
Well it's both parties actually. UFC wants fedor to drop M-1 Global his management team and I don't blame him for saying fuk you. M-1 has done a lot of great things for Fedor over the years and it would just be a shitty if he went and just dropped them.
M-1 is holding Fedor back and could potentially tarnish his legacy. M-1 uses Fedor basically as an ATM card. They can take him anywhere and it's an instant meal ticket for them.
I also can't blame the UFC for saying fuk you to M-1. M-1 is like MMA's version of AIDS. They're a virus. The merge with a promotion and within a year or two the company goes defunct and then they merge with another. Hopefully they don't ruin SF.
Mousasi realized how fukking shitty M-1 is, I don't see why Fedor can't do the same.
that's not the point. mma fans considered sylvia to have an iron chin before mercer's old ass put him down for a 30 count
if mercer can do it at heavy, toney can do it at light heavy
Get the **** out of here. Randy fukking Couture, a wrestler dropped Tim with one punch.
His chin sucks, his stand up sucks, his ground game sucks.
In short, Tim Sylvia sucks
he is, and thats what makes the sport of mma a joke
How is Tim the greatest HW champion? The dude nearly got sparked out in first round standing by a wrestler.
tell me sylvias HW credentials, how long he reigned as champ for, etc. and see how stupid you sound.
He defended his title maybe 2 times. Beat a stubby grappler and won a boring decision over Arlovski.
i know more about mmgay than you do (by the way, tell fraudor to stop ducking the UFC and overeem)
No you don't. You're an idiot...and a racist
Of course it will. What the hell kind of question is that?
Will it mean Floyd is a bum? Absolutely not. Floyd has accomplished great things in boxing and will be an ATG.
those are inflated numbers to make their company look better....bob arum said the real numbers were south of 1 million :haha::haha::haha::haha:
Yeah because Bob Arum is such a truthful person. Everyone knows he hates MMA .
mma is a joke of a sport. boxing draws all kinds of A -list celebrities and athletes to their events such as muhammad ali, michael jordan, mike tyson, arnold scwharnegger, paris hilton, etc.
Of course Ali and Tyson are going to be attending a BOXING event. What are you retarded?
And lol @ Paris Hilton being an A-Lister.
Everyone knows Boxing is going to outdraw MMA more often. The sport has been around establishing itself for over 100 year. MMA hasn't even been around 1/4 of that amount of time.
If I were boxing I'd be a little embarrassed that boxing supposed biggest draw, was only able to draw 1.2-1.5, which isn't much more than the UFC's highest
selling PPV.
I Know that Brock has skills and was an NCCA Champ...and I know GSP is one of the top wrestlers and overall stars in MMA...
but in terms of drawing power, Brock Lesnar's fame from WWE is what made UFC 100 so popular
I can't argue with that, but you can't deny that he has legitimate athletic credentials. Some people tend to forget or don't even credit him for that. They just see him as someone who went straight from WWE to the UFC with no background in sports or martial arts.
Henderson had OK pull, but the CBS card with Strikeforce had lower ratings than Law and Order re-runs, so his drawing power ain't that much...
Well that's because SF/Showtime aren't mainstream and aren't as in tune with the casual fans as the UFC is.
Plus Hendo/Bisping had The Ultimate Fighter behind it hyping up the fight, which helped a great deal in the pull for that fight because the casual fans love The Ultimate Fighter Reality Show, even though it has become straight up trash and is played out.
Lets not act like NCAA Champion Brock Lesnar wasn't the driving force...:grumble:
Fixed and GSP is also one of the UFC's biggest draws and Hendo/Bitchping had some pull as well.
Well obviously that's not the case with most people even MMA fans, since Mayweather vs. Marquez did better numbers on the same night as UFC 103.
UFC 103 was a shitty card. No surprise
reason # 1,344,555,008,555 why boxing is better than mma.
mma where shot past prime reject athletes of different sports come to be great.
:lol1:
How are Olympic Gold Medal Wrestlers "rejects"?
Thats a little strong. He has some very good legit wins and he's fought some guys who were alot bigger than him
Yeah he does have some great wins but 18-10 is 18-10 and that's far from an impressive resume.
I'm actually thinking about getting a few friends together and going to see it live. I live in Philly. BJ Penn will be on the card as well with some other fun match-ups on the card.
I've never really watched MMA...but people who do tell me Randy has a good stand up game? I would have to SERIOUSLY doubt he wil try that for more than a few seconds though...right?
What you need to realize is that Randy is possibly the most overrated fighter in MMA. He's only so highly recognized because of how good he is for his age (47)
His stand-up is good for being a wrestler but it's not on Toney's level. Nor is it great at all when you compare it to some other MMA fighters who have good stand-up.
Pay for it? LOL... When a washed up, overweight, old athlete can come In on his First match Ever and get on PPV and fight one of its (MMA) legends, that tells you everything about this match and the sport as of now.
Shitting on one of your Hall of Famers? Low, man. Low
who would you like between Brock & Fedor?
Brett was able to get Fedor down and was really damage him inside the guard. If Brock gets Fedor in that position, Fedor would be in some serious trouble.
But then again, Fedor is Fedor and he can pull spectacular finish out of nowhere.
Gun to my head, I'd say Fedor, but if Brock got Fedor down and pounded him unconscious, I wouldn't bat an eye
No one in their right mind thought that dumbass match would sell either... dont know whats your point, The two fights are not similar at all.
How is it not?
Jones and Hopkins are both old and washed up (though you could make an argument for Hopkins
-They are both future Hall of Famers
-The fight was $50
-The fight was stupid and pointless, it sucked in 1993 and guess what? 17 years wasn't going to change that.
Either way, while the fight with Randy and Toney may be stupid but it will sell and Toney will get a decent pay day for his first MMA fight and he'll be taken seriously. While you and most of the boxing world are basically shunning him away.
I think most look at it like the wins are legit and the losses are just because of age or size, lol
Then couldn't you say that most of his wins were because of people underestimating him because of his age/size?
GTFO You have MMGAY fighters above boxers.
Exactly because the amount of ducking and politics is boxing is nearly non-existent in MMA.
But Who cares? I can be a fan of both.
He's definitely one of the biggest wastes of potential. I'm not sure if that makes him a bum, but he definitely had a lot of potential, and I guess just never took shit seriously. It's sad really, and in a way, it pisses me off that someone like that can just piss that away.
He's the best at it by far.
How so? I mean really it breaks down like this.
Floyd talks in the third person about his ability to draw the biggest numbers in boxing, gets paid the most money, so and so fighter is not worth a shit because of his inability to draw.
So basically Floyd's only form of trash talk comes from talking about how much money he is worth and how everyone else isn't.
How is that the mark of the best shit talker?
