Floyd has no history of weighing much more than his weigh in weight he usually sits around a very in shape 149 - 155lb range when fighting at WW i say no more than 156. I cant recall him rehydrating above 10lbs of his weigh in weight in any of his fights but maybe im wrong.
What's this guy think he is? picking on blown up featherweights, and light welterweights ,he is seriously reminding me of Anthony Chicken Mundine.
WHY DON'T YOU FIGHT REAL WELTERWEIGHTS YOU FKN WOOS.
He's really starting to get on my nerves.
Shane Mosley would kick your fkn arse back to Grand Rapids you fake f*ck.
Or how about Cotto or Paul Williams dare I say..
What's the bet he will fight another blown up fighter 1 or 2 divisions below him..
Props to Marquez...
:bottle: there you go now sleep well and dont let Floyd scare you in your dreams.
dont talk about MMGAY on a boxing forum...take that shite to a gay porno site where it belongs
I'm comparing the two best in different sports who both get hated on. I only chose MMA cause its the closest thing to boxing but If you got a problem with that then you must be the ******. Homo.
Same reason they hate on Fedor in MMA cause people hate on the best out the comparison is fair as well cause they both say they aint fought nobody. Fact is everyone hates on the best. Haters Gon Hate
Its always an excuse with you Brits and your fighters.. Hatton WOULD NEVER BEAT MAYWEATHER. PERIOD END OF STORY. Same thing with the Princess.. If he was with Ingle BLAH BLAH BLAH.. Excuses make people feel better and not have to face reality. Ricky's daddy doesnt want his son in the ring with Mayweather because he knows Ricks face would get all sliced up. I piss on British fighters just like the proud revolutionists pissed on the king and his tea tax. America likes real heroes, not flamers .. We like substance not show. Thats why the King and Queen, and David Beckham, Ricky hatton, and Princess Hamed dont mean shit in this country!
Damn dude that was harsh.
Has Floyd or Hatton Been On The Canvas Before??
yes both by Boxing terms have been KD. Hatton was Flash knocked down By Magee and Floyds hand touched the canvas when he hit Carlos Hernandez on top of the head and Broke his hand.
Ricky impressed me with that haymaker he used to KTFO of mausa. Im not a hatton fan but that was a shot. I dont think Cotto would last with Hatton. I think the only person who could beat Hatton is Mayweather and even that will be a close fight.
I know this, TBWS, and I'm not just trollin'. You're ahead of the news, though, and I'll bet this will be a story on fightnews.com by the time I'm off work. I'm just saying that it really is no excuse--blurry vision is something that happens to all fighters at some point in time, very few of them will ever make an excuse of it, but if any would it will be Judah. The only time I really remember anyone blaming it for a bad performance is when they felt that there was foulplay involved like Liston-Clay or some people complained about Holmes thumbing them etc. If you have a fairly clean fight and your vision is blurred then that is just part of the game.
Yes, very true but I think it was a factor in the lost cause it went down hill rather quickly after that. He has also made a few comments in some articles that seem to suggest something was wrong like saying "if I was 100% he wouldnt have lasted" and such. I just think something was wrong with Judah but I could be way off.
'Blurry vision' is no good excuse for losing the fight, though. I'm sure it was either caused by a punch or by some of Zab's own very intentional headbutts. I'm tired of hearing this guy's excuses for his own failures as a fighter and a person.
He never used it as an excuse. He said this when he was winning the fight not when he was losing it. I am just saying that this is the reason he lost. Blurred vision sucks specially when fighting.
You could def be right on that one. Originally that's what I thought he said too, but then I thought he mentioned his rib. But you are probably right.
But that's a far cry from that stupid ass writer saying Zab came back to the corner to say, "I'm ready".
And Joel did say at first, that Baldy won three or four rounds, then towards the end of the interview he did say something about Baldy winning 6 rounds tops. I distinctevly remember hearing Joel say 6 rounds, because I was like, "that's half the fight!".
I still need to rewatch it because upon first viewing I thought Zab won a close decision. I just didn't thought that, even though Zab was barely throwing, he landed cleaner shots.
I would have had it a draw if Baldomir didn't have Zab doing the Harlem shuffle in round 7 but I gave "baldozar" a 10-8 round because of it.
Sorry for the miscommunication ... I didn't mean that you were making excuses. I used your quote only to refer to how the fight was probably scored. Maybe you aren't making excuses for Zab but most everyone else seem to have some theory as to why Zab lost rather than trusting what has been obvious for a while that his chin and heart are bad.
ooops my bad.
No, that guy is an idiot.
Call me naive, I guess I want to think those things don't happen in boxing but....
when Zab Judah came back to end round 6, he nowhere near said I'm ready.
He said something about "My ribs are hurt".
That's just my opinion.
Point blank, Zab Judah blew the fight. Not Don King.
Nope he said "My vision is blurred" it can be clearly heard if you turn up the volume and use some ear phones ;).
Some judges could have even given the next round to Baldomir 10-8 since all Judah did was run. I think that Zab knew he was up against more than he bargained for after like rd 2 or by the end of rd 1 even. He wasn't carrying this guy, Baldomir was a legitimate challenge for him even early. He wasn't scared of Judah's speed or power and was doing a very good job making up for the difference in hand speed by timing Judah all night. I wish people would quit making excuses for why Zab lost and just accept the fact that he didn't just throw the fight away--he got beat.
I didn't make any excuses for Zab he got beat as my score card states.
He did say that but then later in the interview he said Baldomir won maybe 5 or 6 rounds at the most.
To clear up something about the 6th round where people were saying Judah's corner was saying code red, they were actually saying cold rag. Judah told them something was in his eye and Yoel Judah said give me cold rag he's got something in his eye.
Nope he said I have Blurred vision someone else said he had something in his eye. but yes they did say cold rag not code red.
I think we'll just have to agree to disagree, mate. I feel confident that if I ran a poll on here asking what fight people would rather see (omitting Winky Wright because I really DON'T think Floyd would EVER step that far out of his safety zone, I really don't) then I think at least 8 out of 10 would want to see Hatton.
It's all very well saying "yeah, but he probably would have beaten Hatton and Cotto anyway..." That's what people say to justify Roy's "career".
I respect your opinion on the matter. Don't get me wrong I would still love to see the fight. I do want to see what Hatton can do against speed because I have yet to see him fight someone who has it. I know deep down though that Cotto gets destroyed, I don't care what anyone says. Hatton also destroys Cotto, Castillo, Corrales, Gatti. Because they would all have to fight his fight and they would all get beat to death doing it. So the only option remains Mayweather for a real dangerous fight for Hatton. So I would love to see it.
There's no way on God's green Earth that Hatton would destroy Castillo. He might Cotto, because Cotto has a questionable chin and drinking problem. He might Corrales, because Corrales has already been destroyed by Castillo.
But Castillo is a man's man and he don't play that shit. A fight vs Hatton would be brutal but niether man would be wiped out. It would be quite competitive.
Castillo will last longer than the others no doubt about that. But he will quit on his stool. I just dont think he has what it takes to last against Hatton. He showed that by not making weight against Corrales.
That's cool man. Nice debating it with you, it's good when people can talk about this stuff peacefully and so on.
I find the Cotto-Hatton-Floyd triumviate an intriguing prospect, because it's almost like scissors-paper-stone. Maybe...
If Cotto fought Hatton, I think Cotto might have a chance at winning that one. (Nah, on second thoughts, but you never know, it will be real constant mutual trading, which the Zoo fight wasn't...)
Mayweather beats Cotto.
I still have a suspicion Hatton will beat Mayweather.
I know it will be Hatton's biggest test (in theory, at least) but I've wasted at least £150 down the years betting against Hatton in the belief that he was overrated hype. This last year I'm starting to come to the belief that he might actually be for real.
I think Hattons style makes it difficult for anyone to fight him even Mayweather but I think Mayweather is to smart and to fast for him. Cotto maybe has a punchers chance but I think that Cotto is the right speed for Hatton. Hatton will overwhelm him, punish him and then KO him.
I also didnt believe in Hatton, and the Kostya fight didnt change my mind. Believe it or not the Mausa fight did. It showed me he had power to go along with his non stop pressure and that is a dangerous combination. I mean I didnt think he would KO Carlos and he surprised me and did. To me thats huge cause Mausa has a cinder block for a head.
His projection (you have READ the piece I linked to, right?) is that there's "nothing else" for him to prove beyond the three fighters mentioned. Yet he's a titlist in 140 and will not fight them.
Never mind that Hatton or Cotto aren't ready YET, he has no plans to fight them at all.
I don't blame him, if he can get those fights that he has listed then more power to him. I would rather see him fight Oscar and Winky then Cotto and Hatton to be honest. I doubt he will get Oscar though. So I still think Hatton will be an option for Floyd this year.
Also I dont see why he should wait on those two he tried to get the fights they didnt want him so what is he supposed to do?
Cotto gets busted up if he fights him and Hatton gets UDed easy or busted up like gatti. So to me no matter how long these two wait, Mayweather beats them.
I could see giving Hatton a chance if he would have a fight with someone who had some kind of speed but he has never fought anyone with speed at all. To bad he never fought witter that would have been a good warm up for Floyd and would have given me a reason to say he has a chance against Floyd. The only thing Hattons fights have told me is that he has a good work ethic, solid chin, and he can beat up and out work 35+ year olds. Other than that I dont understand why people act like he can beat Floyd or even have a chance for that matter.
Well anyway the Oscar fight and the Winky fight interest me more than a Hatton fight. But if Hatton offers him a fight this year and he doesnt have that Oscar fight all locked up. Then you can say he ducked Hatton and complain all you want but till then it really isnt justified.
Wow this should actually be a very good fight. I think Paulie has a shot because I don't think cotto has fought a slick boxer (Correct me if I’m wrong and no I don’t count chop chop as slick). This is a very good fight for cotto to take however cause it will show us how he deals with someone fast and slick. I’m going to have to stay neutral on this one. But this is my assessment.
If Paulie remains slick and moves from inside to outside with out getting hit with Cottos bombs for 12 rounds he wins a hard fought UD. If cotto can connect and connect effectively its lights out Paulie.
I don't know, but those last two rounds seemed clear for Castillo. Still, it's good that you posted your card. I will post mine.
Round 1 Mayweather 10-9
Round 2 Mayweather 10-9
Round 3 Mayweather 10-9
Round 4 Castillo 10-9
Round 5 Mayweather 10-9
Round 6 Castillo 10-9
Round 7 Castillo 10-9
Round 8 Even 9-9
Round 9 Castillo 10-9
Round 10 Even 9-9
Round 11 Castillo 10-9
Round 12 Castillo 10-9
Total 114-112 Castillo
The reason I gave the last 2 rounds to floyd is because I dont count low blows and blocked shots as counting. Floyd landed the cleaner shots in both of those rounds IMO thus won those rounds.
